"I wish that I had found this site before dealing with these jerks. I settled a claim against Wisetronics, via American Express on May 24 of 2006 after a long hard fight. These people are bait and switch artists and much worse. They shipped me a broken Sony T9 camera and refused to take it back. Their only offer was to send it to Sony, which would have cost me, not them, to repair it. Their buyer agreement is worded such that you must return the broken equipment but they will not accept it back without a return authorization, which they will not issue. They just laughed when I told them I paid via AX and I would put a hold on their billing.
After many trials with AX, including shipping it back to Wisetronics and having it refused, I was issued permanent credit and they can go pack sand.
What a bunch of jerks to deal with! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! "
"Purchased a Canon S3 on line. Received a message to call to verify my order. I knew the sales pitch was coming and was determined to remain polite and not buy any overpriced add ons. The salesman tried each and every option. When they tried to sell me items that were described as included on their website and I questioned each item, there was always a long pause. Things like the basic lens, the basic memory card, USA warranty, shipping cost, etc. as listed on the web site versus the salesmans new price. Finally, the salesman decided I was not worth the trouble and said the order was cancelled and hung up. They are brazen crooks preying on the less fortunate. It's bait and switch. You can not buy the advertised item, unless you buy their overpriced extras. I knew better, but thought it was worth a shot to see if they would sell at the offered price. BEWARE! Keep in mind, the reason they are still in business, is that there are many people falling prey to their tactics."

Once again,
Thank you for choosing WiseTronics.com.
P.s. please have your order number ready when you call.
I called WiseTronics.com to verify that they had this camera in stock before I placed the order. Twice they assured me they had this camera for this price in stock and told me to go ahead and place the order online. I did exactly that as you can see in the above order confirmation.
When I called them back to verify the order and listen to the additional sales pitch, they said "oh Sir, the camera you ordered is the overseas version and does not have the USA warranty, software, or USB cable that the American version has and would be shipped bare.
I protested a little and was very frustrated by their Bait and switch tactic, but told them to ship it anyway. They said hold on and I will transfer you to my manager. I held on for approximately 12 minutes and the manager picks up and tells me that the camera I ordered was not in stock and it would be 3-4 weeks before it would ship. I pleaded with him to not screw me around for several minutes. He told me not to beg and thats the way it was going to be. Again I asked him to please honor his online advertized deal. He said hold on a few seconds and came back to the phone and said "your order has been cancelled" At that point I lost my cool and uttered a profanity at him and hung up.
"
"We were trying to order a camera advertised at $309.00. We needed it by Friday. When we recieved an email asking us to call and confirm the order, we did so, only to have three offers made. Offers including an additional memory card, a long life battery, and a 3 year warranty. These special offers were originally going to cost us close to $300.00 more. After saying no, we were told he could give us the warranty and 2 hr battery for just $149.00. When we said we were not interested, and asked to just have the camera shipped to us, Zach (our customer service rep) said that the camera would not be available for a few more days. They had just sold the last one, but we could upgrade to another one if we wanted to pay the difference. There were no other packages listed on the website. At that point we cancelled the order."
"Horrible experience. This firm is all about sales and sales pressure and nothing about customer service. They didn't ship what I ordered and then, after finally getting in touch with someone after nine tries, argued with me about why what they sent me was supposedly better than what I ordered. When I also made a comment about the difficulty in getting in touch with their customer service dept, the person blatantly said "I don't believe you". AVOID THIS SELLER!!!"
"Only too late I found this site and the reviews about Wisetronics. I fell in their trap and was duped into a deal which was not what I had intended.
After placing an order comes the email to confirm and verify obvious facts. Calling, it becomes a sales talks adding hundreds of $ for things actually included in the original product as shipped from the factory.
Then they "deliberately" ship a wrong similar item. I say that because they cannot be that dumb reading their own order sheets!
Claiming a restocking fee when you "accidently" opened the shipment. Restocking calculated on what, the item you intended to buy or what was shipped? Only $57.99! and so on.
Talking to the people is useless, yes, they are very sure of their invincible position, laughing at you. The customer is nothing only a money cow,
milk it, milk it as long there is a dime left.
If you think you see a good deal with WISETRONICS
be advised, the best deal is NOT TO DEAL with this
guys, they are Krucks with a lot of HUTZPA,
scam arstist which too often get away with their
brazen lies."
"Looks like I should have searched this site before I bought from WiseTronics. These guys are bait and switch and shell game professionals. They know how to cover their tracks and everything is premeditated. I experienced everything previous commenters did. There has to be a way to put them out of business. STAY FAR FAR AWAY! "
"STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE BAD NEWS.
When I ordered the camera I spoke to a Kevin. I told him the type of camera that I had (Canon A-1) & that I needed a new one because mine was broke but wanted to make sure that the lenses that I have would work with the Canon Rebel XT EOS 350D. He assured me that they would work. He stated that I would have to focus & zoom the camera manually. He stated that for another $100.00 I could get an extended 5-hour battery with charger. Then he also sold me a memory card for another $100.00. He stated that he would throw in free software as part of the deal. He charged me $69.95 for shipping & handling plus insurance. This is for ground shipping.
After receiving the camera I noticed that the camera was not the color that I ordered. I ordered the black body & what I got was a silver body. The battery & charger were packaged as part of the camera package. I called the Manufacturer Canon & spoke with one of their Technicians. I gave him the model number to the camera & the model number of the battery. I asked him if he could confirm that the battery is an extended life battery or is it the standard 2-hour battery. He stated that the model indicates it is the standard battery that is packaged with the camera. I asked him if the charger came with the camera as well & he stated yes. He stated that the software comes with the camera as also. The Canon Technician stated that the set up that I have is the starter package & the only thing it did not come with is a lens or the memory card. He stated that when Canon ships out the camera it comes with the battery, charger & software. He stated that he does not know how the dealers sell it. When I tried to put on my lens it would not attach to the camera.
The same day that I received the camera I called Wisetronics.com & went through their prompts for customer service. I spoke with a guy by the name of Mike. I requested to speak with the Manager & he stated that he was the Sales Manager & I would have to call back between 9am & 8pm to speak with the Customer Service Manager.
I called Wisetronics the next day & went through the same prompts. Once again I got Mike. I explained to Mike that I was not happy with the purchase of the camera & I wanted to return it. I then gave him all the reasons that are mentioned above. Mike stated that I would need an adaptor to make the lens work with the camera. After checking he could not find one. Mike stated that I would have to pay a 20% restocking fee to return the camera including the freight charges. I once again explained to him that they did not send me what I ordered & I was misled about the lens & the battery. I also explained that they never mentioned anything about a restocking fee. Mike stated that he did not care if I got the camera that I ordered or not. He stated that there was nothing I could do about it. He told me “just purchase a lens & use the camera”. I advised him that I was going to contact my credit card company & cancel payment & he stated that I would have a hard time proving what I am saying. Mike told me that I could talk to the person who handles their complaints (Tony) which happens to be his cousin. I knew this was a waste of time because the whole thing was a big joke to Mike. The conversation that we had turned into a shouting match & he did not care how I felt about the whole thing, he just laughed. I heard Kevin in the background giving someone the same spill about purchasing an extended battery. My credit card company is investigating the issue. I do not plan on paying the charges & when I send the camera back to them it will be C.O.D.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE BAD NEWS. These 3 guys are related & are probably running this scam from their apartment in NY. I could have bought this camera from Best Buy with a lens for less than I paid these jokers.
I’m going to do everything that I can to let the word out about these guys. If you have been scammed by these guys go to ripoffreport.com & post a complaint on there as well.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE BAD NEWS. "
"WARNING! Do not buy from this company! I placed an order, and then after a call from a service rep trying to sell me tons of other stuff with the Canon S80 camera, did he tell me that it was packaged for sale in Europe and the 1-yr warranty would be VOID in the USA! I canceled the order quickly. Avoid this company!!!"
"******* SCAM WARNING *******
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! I purchased a digital video camera from this place and paid for 2 day shipping. I then had to call in and confirm my order a day later and was told that my order would ship the following day. Two days went by, no package, I then called and they said it would be overnighted. Next day, no package, they then claimed that they were on backorder. When I asked for my order to be cancelled they said ok but that I would have to call back the following Wednesday (today is Friday) to talk with customer service. They said there were no customer service people there until next Wednesday. I know this is the 4th of July holiday weekend, but wow, what a great vacation policy!

"Main point: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS "COMPANY". The facts: We ordered a camera from wisetronics. The next day, we were told to call to "further verify your order number..." The salesperson tried to convince us to order a different camera and a number of accessories; the final agreement was confusing, which we now regret, but we were told that the camera would be shipped overnight for the cost of ground. We assumed (and hoped) that we would at least receive the original camera that we wanted. A package arrived a week later, shipped UPS ground. The box included a different camera and some accessories, though our order slip indicated the product number of the original camera that we ordered. We called customer service to inform them that we would like to exchange the camera for the one that we had initially wanted, but were told that it was out of stock ‘internationally’, which was a blatant lie. Wisetronics offered to send us a few more accessories, but we contended that we wanted a full refund. We were then made aware of a "restocking" fee, even though we were sent the wrong merchandise. We were also informed that we would have to reimburse them for overnight shipping, despite the fact that the package did not come overnight, and that we were initially charged for ground. The person on the phone repeatedly told us to 'shut up,' and 'stop wasting everyone's time'. Unfortunately, only then did we do our research and notice the pattern of the customer reviews on this website, and on nextag.com. Many customers were treated to the same 'scheme' as we were. Conclusion: This company's attempt at selling us a different camera, overcharging for accessories, and then not allowing simple exchanges/returns is a testament to their unscrupulous business practices. AVOID"
"I ordered a Sony DCR-DVD505, and their web site says that it "usually" ships within 1-2 business days. Again, as described I got a confirmation email, with the request to call. I don't know who I talked to but the guy tried to upsell me on overpriced additions to the camera. I declined. The order now is on "backorder" 10 days later, even though their web site still says they have it.
So I called to find out the status. They have minus 16 in stock, and said I can expect it within 3-4 weeks. When I called it a "bait&switch" the guy told me to be "careful" about what I say. They did not "switch" the camera.
I can't believe that this comapny is still in business. Their low prices are clearly the bait for you to order, then be sold stuff you may need but can get for half elsewhere. If you then decline, I guess you get put on the slow track.
Nice! "
"I called up wisetronics.com because they had the best deal on the web for the Panasonic PV-GS500 camcorder. I spoke to Mike who was very informative and helpful. He gave me discounts on all of the essential accessories such as extended service plan with lens cleaning service, extended life battery, and professional lens filter kit. With shipping and tax, the order came out to $1150. We said thank you and went on our way. What a great deal, I thought.
Naturally I was just a little skeptical about the service plan so I called Panasonic warranty department at ***-***-**** and they gave me a price of $149.95 for a 3 year plan, lens cleaning not included. So I decided that I did not need lens cleaning and could buy the other essential accessories later.
So now about 10 minutes had elapsed since I placed my order so I called back and spoke to Mike again. I told him that I wanted to cancel everything except the camera and battery. He tried to talk me into keeping the accessories and even offered an additional $50 off and changed my camera to include a full USA warranty. This was a great offer but I still didn't want the accessories. At this point he told me that the order had already been processed and he couldn't change it. I told him that I really wanted the camera and he replied, "...and I really don't want to talk to you anymore... I'm going to hang up now." After he said that I immediately told him that I was doing a charge-back and hung up swiftly. I called my bank and had them cancel the credit card. By the way, they hadn't even authorized the card.
Message to Mike: "I really liked the fact that you tried to help me out and thany you for your explanations of all the different accessories. That is great for customer retention. However, the salesman isn't the buyer. The customer ultimately makes the decision. You need to work with the customer to not just get what's BEST but to also get what's best FOR THEM. I was indecisive, skeptical, and short on cash. When I called back to buy just the camera you should have agreed. Have you read your reviews at resellerratings.com recently? You can get alot more business if you market yourself as a professional in both camcorders AND customer service. Newegg.com didn't get where they are today by cussing and refusing to honor customers requests to change their order. Unless you can prove to me that you are willing to change I will never do business with you again. You have some serious work to do on your sales tactics." "
"Placed order on 6-06-2006 for Canon camcorder and received email the next day to call company to confirm my credit card and the order. Person who answered the phone mentions nothing about not having them instock but presents upgrade options. I called them on 6-12-2006 to verify the order and was told that the order was canceled. I did not receive any notice of cancelation.I asked to upgrade my shipping to 1-3 day air. Terrible service!!!!!!! "
"Placed order via web site on Saturday and received emailed on Monday to call to confirm order. When called was greeted with rude customer service who put me on hold for 10 minutes. Hanged up and called again and guy on other line told me order was cancelled becuase I hangged up. "
