"We all know things can go wrong and it is often the response to such that is telling. Anyone can seem good if all is sailing along. Before you use this company consider this event: Sorry it is a bit long, but trying to give a sense of what happened.
I ordered a tin of Osmo Oil and their automated systems told me when it would arrive and even then the hour. It didn't go wrong until their people got involved.
Come the time of delivery it never arrived, instead I got a text saying they couldn't deliver because I wasn't in. However I was reading this at the front of my house where I had been gardening while waiting for it.
I contacted the number given and the depot talked to the driver who said he decided not to deliver it because he would have to take a detour and didn't want to waste his time. So he simply made up a lie that I wasn't in.
I felt bad that he was blaming me and that he had lied.
That afternoon he did deliver it unannounced, but was obviously upset that he had been caught out because he smashed my mailbox. Not accidentally, but clearly deliberately.
When I contacted Wood Finishes Direct (after all they are the ones whose customer I was) the first lady contacted was polite and asked for the cost of replacement, but then came the scorn, arrogance and rudeness from a different member of staff.
I told them my mailbox was fortunately a temporary one while I was landscaping my front drive. It was simply a plastic box that I had modified to accept post and secured it to blocks etc to make it safe. That as such it couldn't just be bought anew but needed me or a tradesman to get a new box and fit it and suggested £25 as reimbursement for that.
I then got a scornful reply telling me to order a plastic box from Wilko. When I objected to the tone of the mail, they told me it was just a Tuperware box and implied I was trying it on, ending with "take your business elsewhere".
No consideration, sympathy or understanding that I was upset that someone has come on to my property and wilfully damaged something of mine.
They also started saying, they were trying to help with an incident that a "third party" had caused. Well no not really, since you are responsible for the people you hire.
So as said, you learn about companies when things start to go wrong!
