"I bought a observerxt wireless camera from XIPPS. The camera worked fine for roughly a week; after that it requires manual reset everyday. The camera simply freeze during streaming. Tried email tech support multiple times and only received standard trouble shooting that is obviously copy and paste from some word document. I gave up and probably will never buy again. "
"I have to agree with the first reviewer. The S/H is on the high side. Further more, I discovered XIPPS products do not have FCC/CE approval. There is simply no FCN number associated with Veo, Vidi, or XIPPS (and product name) listed on FCC/CE public web site search tool. It is illegal to sell devices such as network camera without a class A/B FCC license. I am suspecting the 2nd reviewer Mike Bush works for XIPPS. Isnt it a violation for company staff to put in positive feedback here?
As far as technology goes, I bought Vivotek NC just a week ago and did a side by side comparison. My conclusion is, motion jpeg is the last generation of technology. It is slightly clear but takes a lot of storage space. By the way, the Vivotek cam supports dual codec, both Mpeg4 and Mjpeg. It costs me only $275 with S/H. I'd say it is a much better deal than XIPPS NC.
Tell the truth, buying from XIPPS is not all that bad. The bottom line is I do not feel I receive worthy products from XIPPS. I was foolish enough to receive VEO's spam email that points me to buy anything from XIPPS. There are much better deals out there and whoever wants to buy a network camera should really spend time to shop around.
I will not recommend XIPPS to anyone unless the price is dropped to sub $150 and add mpeg4 support. Nowadays you can even buy a SONY net cam on line for less than $150 with P/T/Z and much better product package. Oh! I almost forgot, I'd like to see some real evidence of FCC/CE approval other than just "positive feedback of an IP application" from this Mike guy.

"Background:
This store sells outstanding products. XIPPS is selling same ID like Veo products yet with a latest technology hardware and software. A much better product compares it to Veo product. Their oversea manufacturer claims a perfect legal right to produce such products.
Buying experience:
I feel shiping handling is fare compares it to UPS store. Customer service is outstanding and friendly. Double check with FCC/CE ID and gets a positive feedback with ID application number. Vidi products offer standard 1 year warranty. So far, I am very satisfied. I had installed Vidi camera for over 100 clients received a very positive A+ comments.
Recommendation:
I would strongly suggest to buy from this vendor. The setup utility is best among all networking camera. It took little effort to set up the network camera. It is compatible with routers such as Linksys, D-Link, Netgear and other name brands. I like their price offer even without 1-800 tech support. It is such a nice design that almost no tech support is needed. Of course,it is nice to have 1-800 support number. I believe Motion JPEG offers a better image quality and there is no need for MPEG4 for certain applications. "
"XIPPS NETWORK CAMERA / Vidi NETWORK CAMERA
Background:
This store sells questionable products (mock up of Veo network camera and sold as Vidi network camera). The company Veo went bankrupt in March, 2005; all Veo intellectual property, industrial design, software/hardware design now belongs to secure lender. And yet, XIPPS is selling the products exactly like Veo products.
Buying experience:
They make money on shipping handling. Shipping is extremely expensive from Campbell, CA to NC. Customer service is close to none. Sent one email to inquire if product is FCC/CE approved, never received reply. Sent another email to inquire products legality and warranty, never replied.
Recommendation:
I would highly suggest not to buy from this vendor. It took tremendous effort to setup the network camera; I have to play with 3 different routers in order to make it work (their tech support only help with standard answer, and no 1800 tech support line to call). Buy Vivotek network camera instead, Vivotek has P/T/Z and Mpeg4 support. XIPPS network camera only does motion Jpeg.
