"I am really happy with this laptop - 250+ FPS on Doom Eternal, 100+ on Control w/ RTX... I wish Cyberpunk wasn't a lousy game b/c I bet this laptop would run it smooth. Fans get loud in performance mode, but are quieter in normal modes so the laptop works fine in a Zoom session.

Build quality is decent. RBG on on the advertising pics is really intense, but you can customize it to make it a less gamer extreme. (I set that colorful bar on the front to just be a subtle smoky grey/white, and it looks really sharp.) Per-key RGB with settings so you can change which keys are highlighted in FPS, or MOBA, or word processing. It's a nice feature.

BIG advantage to this is the HD webcam, which is a serious problem with gaming laptops in 2021. (Why??? Why did they take out webcams during the pandemic?) "

"So far all I have done is order my custom laptop, so I can only speak to the purchasing process. The website is laid out well, and there are really good drop-down options for narrowing your search for the customization process. One question I have is on the final checkout. I chose the check/money-order option, submitted it and my order was accepted. When do I get billed or actually send in a payment?"

"Between me and my family I think we've actually purchased at least 4 separate laptops through Xotic, and for good reason. They blow the competition out of the water if not solely for the ability to customize the components that are going into my laptop. Which- for me, my family, and anyone who knows even a little about computer components- is a very significant deal. Laptops are usually found stock or with very, very limited modifications, so being able to properly tailor all the internals so it can run at peak capacity is a major deal.

Now, do I have gripes with some minor things here and there? Sure, I definitely feel like the prices of certain components (thermal paste upgrades, certain ssd and storage options, etc) range from a little to way overpriced compared to what they're readily available for on the market (looking at you, Samsung drives). Buuut, at the time of me writing this, we are at a terribly priced period of time for purchasing computer components, and I understand that they need to make profits too both on the parts and the labor it takes to install it. So, as much as I hate to admit it, I can totally see why things are what they cost- especially with them coming out with and promoting their own Xotic brand parts (Which I found that to be a cool achievement on their part).

All things considered they're basically the only company I'd go to and trust for a laptop nowadays. The first laptop I purchased through them has lasted me an absurd 9 whole years, so I know so long as I take care of things on my end they'll deliver a reliable, quality product uniquely suited and customized for my needs. That's not just great, it's perfect, so thank you Xotic for continuing to do what you do best.

And service wise, I can’t complain. I had a few doubts about the delivery time so I shot these guys an email and they responded very quickly, like same day few hours quickly, and gave me a good straight to the point answer. I don’t feel like im buy from an evil corporation, more like a mom-pop shop which is pretty cool.

Something that would be pretty cool is if they could like make a recommended build around which ever video card or processor you choose. Cuz i’m a techy nerd myself and I know the gist of a few components and things, but other things like RAM brands or Storage access speeds or even which fans are best, that’s still is a mystery to me and I can’t tell if I’m make the right call. If there’s one thing I’ve learned is that the most expensive isn’t always the best bang for you buck so I as a consumer would like a different metric to go off of. So a suggestion/recommendation for some of these would be helpful!"
