Sales Tax Fraud

"During a recent attempt to place an order on the YOOX website, I realized that the tax figure computed by the website was completely incorrect. I did not place the order, and instead put in a phone call to Customer Service. The agent was rude, arrogant, and indicated by his response that he had no idea of what I was trying to communicate.

I subsequently wrote a letter to Customer Service as well as to no less than four members of their corporate staff, hoping to elicit some response or explanation regarding the tax discrepancy on their website. Not a peep from anybody. Nada.

Out of curiosity, I tried again later in the week to place an order with the same unfortunate result.

Is this an algorithm gone rogue, I wondered, or is YOOX actually pulling off some kind of scam?

The evidence is now pointing to pure fraud, pure scam. Subsequent to my first attempt, I submitted the same order to YOOX with a different address in a different state. And wouldn't you know? Again there was a distinct tax discrepancy. I tried several more states with the same result.

I have conducted this test a dozen times over the last three weeks. Without fail, the YOOX website attempts to overcharge sales tax, sometimes as much as 2% over the prevailing rate.

I have saved screenshots of the bogus charges on the YOOX website, as well as data from WA State on what the appropriate sales tax should have been.

For what it's worth, I have filed a complaint with the US Federal Trade Commission, as well as the WA State Attorney General.

A scam from Yoox Partner - 336€!!!

"Hello, I've been a Yoox customer for 11 years and I've never had such a problem with the goods I ordered or with a return! I'll explain the situation: I placed the order on Yoox.com on 09/15/2022. I wanted to give this watch as a gift to my girlfriend. By the way, the order status on Yoox.com is still SHIPPED (ORDER 1509Y8A8422145). This means Yoox made a mistake and the status of this order was not corrected at all! After some time I contacted the Yoox partner seller by email and asked about the order because the shipping took too long. I was told that the order was probably lost in the post and they will send a new order, order number 1509Y8A8422145-A. This information has not been updated at Yoox! On 10/01/2022 I still haven't received the order, contacted the Yoox partner again by email and said that I would like to cancel this order, because it was taking too long - my girlfriend's birthday was already over and I didn't need this watch anymore. The seller replied that a cancellation was no longer possible. The order was finally delivered on October 5th, 2022, but I was already on vacation. I contacted the seller and made it clear that I wanted to refuse this order because I no longer need it! The seller replied that I cannot refuse this order. I should accept them and then send them back. When I was on vacation, my neighbors took this order for me. Then I came back from vacation and wanted to return this order immediately. By the way, the order was very badly packed, so I stuck the box several times with a new white foil! After that I emailed the seller twice and got no response at all. This is proof that this seller is not serious and did not want this item back under any circumstances! Only when I reported a conflict situation to PayPal did the seller respond and say they didn't want to provide a returns form and I need to pay for the shipping bymyself. I did that too! I sent the item in the same condition as I received it! I didn't even open the packaging. I have witnesses who can prove that I did not open this package at all!

Here is the answer I received from Yoox via Paypal:
"Good morning, unfortunately the seller could not accept the return as the item was completely damaged and not compliant with their Return Policy. The package was returned to you at the seller's expense with UPS. Kind regards, YOOX"
????? How could it be????
This is really a scam and rip off, who can believe that I broke this watch and then sent it back??? I wanted to return this item from the start because it took too long to ship. I did not even opened the package!
So now I now for sure, that this was a scam, the buyer from Romania was problematic from the beginning, and now it is clear that he is lying! I am now sure that this seller sent broken item to me from the start! This is fraud and I will refuse and not accept this shipment. I urgently demand my money back!

YOOX selling counterfeit as if they were authentic

"I have made some considerate shopping the past month I was rewarded £100 for this month to spend on one article that’s not on discount and greater than the value of the voucher. I was happy to finally purchase a pair of Valentino shades I had on my dream box for some time. These had disappeared from my dream box before but reappeared some time later. I believe they had been purchased of someone and returned as I’ve seen this happen before. So I purchased them from the original price of £265- I paid £165.

They arrived today and I was very excited. The box were carefully and beautifully wrapped in paper. I opened the luxurious cover and took them out. My immediate feeling before looking at them properly or opening them up, was they’re not genuine. They were unusually light and felt and looked flimsy. Now I had tried these on in a renowned departments store. They were in no way similar to the once I’ve just received from Yoox. I have a dozen of expensive designer shades. I would notice miles away if they were counterfeit. Even the golden surrounding ring covering the lens on the back were so poorly fitted, the left lens were not in coordination with the right. The printings of the letters, the earpiece and temple-tip were not fitted properly of both sides. All these things are typical give aways for fakes. I have posted pictures of the glasses I received and the three last pictures are of the genuine glasses they have on their website. You can see easily there are big differences.

1) Look at the detail between the earpiece with metal and plastic meet.
2) The metal bridge between the lenses is round on the ones I received. But on the originals it is straight.

I didn’t have to compare much to understand what I received were fake. As soon as I picked them up, I noticed. They weighed nothing. Such as cheap £5 glasses one finds in markets.

I contacted yoox and told them of the findings. They of course denied they would send a fake item. I’ve sent them back. Once they have them I’ve asked them to compare them with a pair from a Valentino shop. I would very much like the authentic pair sent to me or my £100 voucher to use on another item to the same specifications. As I’m not OK with to be sold fake designer pieces and my hard earned voucher to be stolen away in the process. We are in correspondence but I don’t have high thoughts of them as I’ve seen on the web customers been ripped off before.

I posted this as I’ve seen this for some time during the past years. A couple of years ago I ordered a pair of Sergio Rossi boots that too were fake. I know because I tried the authentic once at store. I had a children’s Burberry coat that too wasn’t of the same high quality I’m used to see from the brand. With these designers I wouldn’t believe for a moment YOOX would sell fake items as I’ve been very happy and loyal customer for almost 20 years. I’ve purchased many designers pieces that I’ve been very happy with and never believed were fake. So I buried my worries that they are not guilty and deceiving their customers. Instead I though the reason could be the designers themselves has started to cut corners with poor quality to make profit. I’ve seen this before and stopped buying from theses designers. I have then stopped buying from Sergio Rossi and Burberry because of what happened.

But as this happened one more time. I don’t believe this is a coincidence anymore. I believe YOOX knows what they are doing. They are very much in the know of this. They have been selling counterfeit articles for some time now. Deceiving customers that they are purchasing authentic designer items.

BUYER BEWARE - NO REFUND OF TAXES AND DUTIES CUSTOMS FEES GIVEN - LOSS OF HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!!

"This reeks of some sort of scam. When you return an item (no matter for what reason - mine was because Yoox left the security tag on the garment and it wasn't easily removeable) - Yoox will not refund you for the duties and taxes paid. Sure, Yoox says this in their "FAQ" but the whole concept is so bizzare I didn't think to even consider that you wouldn't be refunded these charges upon returning the item. After all, the item got returned to sender and didn't even stay in my country (Canada). So this is unjust enrichment in my opinion. On a CAD$750 order, $125 of that was "LOCAL TAXES AND DUTIES" and that did not get refunded and there's no way to seek reimbursement. Also, my shipping charge of CAD$50 was not refunded even though it was Yoox's error. Plus, Yoox has the gall to charge a $5.00 "restocking fee". I've asked them for a waiver of that (small potatoes) but still haven't heard back. I ordered this jacket in two different sizes (separate order) so I've had to bite the bullet twice, leading to an evaporation of almost $300. :(

Yoox makes it easy for you to receive your item because they "include" the cost of duty and taxes in your purchase price. But you won't be seeing that money again should you decide to return the item to them, no matter what the reason.

I will NEVER order from this site again, unless I know for sure I won't need to return the item (and fingers crossed there's nothing wrong with it on their end). Scam.

Also, it was difficult to manage your order on their website as it kept showing an error.

Buyer Beware.

terrible customer service

"fter I was a very happy customer and odrered a large amount of clothes from them,but I’m afraid I won’t be shopping there anymore because of my last experience.I bought two same items,because the price dropped down,and returned first one.But YOOX refunded me for wrong order,second(with lower price).They even made a return request for that order themselves in my profile!I wrote to Customer service,their responses were some generic copy-paste answers,and in every mail I had to explain the situation all over again.In the end they even confirmed that they received the return I really sent and will refund me,with the correct amount,but days have passed and nothing happened.I wrote them again,but they have ignored several of my e-mails.Very unprofessional and disappointing.Hard to imagine they don’t mind losing their loyal customers.After I left review on Trustpilot,customer service contacted me and asked me to send them a code from the item.I asked them why do they need it and what is the problem?They didn’t respond,but finally refunded me for the correct return(price difference).I decided to return both of those same items I bought,but I can’t because return request for non-refunded order is blocked-they made it themselves,so when I try to open it,it says I can’t return any more item(and I haven’t returned any).I wrote to Customer care again,and they asked me for photos of item and code.Although I didn’t see point of that,I sent them.After that no response again for days,and ignoring my e-mails.I can’t believe they continued in a same way after the first strange situation."

Horrible service

"Easy and sad story.
My wife decided to buy, for my birthday, a pair of shoes (Pantofolad'oro).
After 5 times that I used them, they got broken and Yoox did not believe it.
We sent back the shoes paying the shipping, they recredit us the cost of the shoes; then we order something else to be delivered in a specific and different address. They did not care about the new address, shipped to the wrong one, and lost track of the box. Long story short, they did not admit the mistake and we lost over 200$.
And I have the feeling they did it on purpose to scam us with their fake customer service.

Stay away from this business

"I ordered a pair of shoes. I paid a large amount of local taxes and duties because it is shipped to Canada - 35% tax. Other stores charge only 20% tax. I had to pay for shipping $40 USD. Other stores offer free shipping if an order is over $300 USD. Unfortunately, the shoes did not fit me - too tight. I had to return the item. YOOX charges $5 USD for return shipping. Then I found out today that YOOX did not refund the local taxes and duties. They only refunded the price of the pair of shoes. It is the customer’s responsibilities to deal with Canada Customs to get the taxes and duties refunded. This is so ridiculous because I have never heard that a store charges for taxes and duties but then refuses to refund the tax and duties.
I do NOT recommend buying from this store if you ship to a Canadian address. It’s a rip off site to shop from.

Bunch of thieves

"I am so **** right now; I need a level head before I knock someone in the face. I ordered a **** for my wife using the YOOX size guide. Apparently, the pantie I ordered was a size 8, which translated to a US-Large. The pantie came, and the tag said it was a medium. My wife was upset that I didn't know her size, but I knew I made the right selection. I called the customer service only to be told that YOOX does not guarantee product sizes; WTF! As if that was not enough, the guy on the phone said to me in my face that the size I ordered is what I got, and it was a Medium. TF! Now I cannot read and see too? YOOX is f'up, and I did not believe what other consumers used to say until I experienced this predicament myself.

Dear YOOX, you just lost a loyal customer thanks to your stupidity.

Fraudulent

"I have a returned a Dolce Gabbana men’s suit they claim they did not receive it it was on 7/8/ 2019 Then I saw the same suit with the same tag number on 9/1 / 2019 and I purchased that and I have the confirmation and the order number and the order was canceled later in order for them to post the suit two months later they had it in their warehouse and now they refuse to return my money luckily for me I bought the suit two months later when it came on the website with the canceled orderI have a screenshot of both order I sent to the company the screen shot of both orders That didn’t help they will not return the money so my advice to everybody don’t buy anything from them their customer service they have no authority over the company everything has to goCorporate not to mention how arrogant customer service is .thank you "

Money stolen!!

"The first and the last time I have ordered from Yoox. They simply STEAL MONEY from their clients. I ordered a winter jacket priced as 300 eur, but had to return due to large fit size. I was thinking to order another model once i get a refund. But NO way i order again as I have never gotten my money back. First, customer support lies in a polite way “that all has been solved”, then they ignore your emails. I wish Ive read reviews before ordering. I saw that many dissatisfied customers are going for a law suit, any tips on that??"
