"We ordered some swimsuits for a trip we were taking to Hawaii. The box showed up with the women's swimsuits fine, but we got a backpack instead of men's board shorts. We called them and they said they had misinventoried alot of the board shorts as backpacks. They sent us a shipping label to send back the backpack, but having to send it back is a pain. We were going to have the board shorts sent to Hawaii directly, but because of the slowness of shipping (the agent said he could only ship it priority mail, not overnight or two day air), we cancelled everything and I bought my son a pair here in town. They offered us a $20 coupon for our time, but frankly, this was a pain. I have heard about Zappos great service, but this mistake was a hassle for our family. Not sure I'd do it again. "

"I've been a Zappos customer for years and have been very happy with their service. Now they have taken it to a new outstanding level!! For the very first time, after making more purchases than I can count, I was sent the wrong merchandise. Different bag from same manufacturer. I needed the correct bag for a trip I was taking a few days later. When I called Zappos, they made a special effort to get the correct bag to me by arranging for expedited Saturday delivery---not a normal part of their service (they ship overnight, but M-F). All I can say is WOW! I am a customer for life!!!"

"With already so many reviews, this will probably go overlooked but this place kicks so much a** that I had to write a review.
Sure, the prices are a little higher than you could find elsewhere with a little research, but what's the price of SERVICE? I'm not a huge customer, probably have bought 10 things from them over the past 3 years. But the few times I've had to return stuff (ordered the wrong size a couple times and a flaw with a pair of shoes once), this company has been phenomenal. Just for example, I ordered a pair of $25 flipflops.. wrong size, error on my end. I asked to ship them back so I could exchange them. They sent me a return label for overnight shipping that they paid for and shipped me the correct size, also overnight, for free. ALL FOR FREE for a $25 pair of flipflops that I ordered wrong! It was the most hassle-free return I've ever done. They surely lost money on that deal but that had me hooked.
This place actually responds to emails very promptly. And without generic canned messages (as far as I can tell). Holy sh*t, someone in the USA is actually typing a real message back to me? No canned quips from India? What strange world is this!?
So the service is beyond belief in today's corporate culture. Now their prices are a LITTLE higher than you can find elsewhere, but not by much. On average, I've probably paid about 5 bucks more per pair. That's way more than worth it with the service you get. Makes me not worried to order a pair of shoes in my usual size only to find out that brand runs smaller or bigger than usual. I know they'll take care of it with NO hassles."
"Update: A Zappos representative contacted me concerning this order. They made a sincere effort to correct the situation. They offered a discount on a future order, upgraded shipping on future orders, and other benefits. I am very satisfied that they noticed the situation occurred and took steps to fix it. I will definitely give Zappos another chance. I believe this was an isolated incident, and they take care of their customers.
I ordered three pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses. They took four days to ship out, I had to contact customer service to find out what was taking so long and the items were shipped out the next day.
When they arrived, all three sunglass boxes were already opened. One pair was stuffed in a plastic bag with a small information pamphlet directly touching the lenses. The lenses were dirty and slightly scratched. The ear stems had scratches and dirt on them. Another pair did not have any plastic bag to protect it in the box. The last pair appeared to be in the original plastic bag, as they should all have been.
Zappos has a 1 year return policy, which is why I bought from them. I will be returning these damaged products and not shopping at Zappos again."

Their business is to make the custome rhappy, not just make a profit. I've seen no other e-tailer that even comes close to Zappos, save maybe Newegg.com. Every time I make an order with Zappos I can be rest assured the transaction will be a satisfactory one. The rest of the American business needs to take notes from Zappos. This is what business used to be like in America. The customer is ALWAYS right, end of story! Zappos not only understands this, but has perfected it. They will of course, garner all of my business when they have the item I am looking for, the only time I will shop anywhere else is if they don;t carry the item I want. Now, all that Zappos needs to do is, become 100% environmentally efficient. Once they do that their place in the annals of business is all but assured. Did I mention that I love Zappos?
