"I have made a reservation through Zen Hotel a month prior to my reservation date for Ramada.
When I arrived at the hotel, the front desk informed me that the reservation never came through and the hotel was fully booked at the date.
I spent 4-5 hours on the phone back and forth with their Reservation Specialists but they only had offered me a room at Super 8 Motel which the quality of the room was terrible and was not even close to the standards of the Ramada hotel room I have booked. Since it was peak season, even Super 8 cost was high and ZenHotel refused to compensate the differences as obviously they have reserved the room on the last minute.
I had to wait outside on a rainy day with my family for 4~5 hours and was frustrated and disappointed about the quality of the reservation made by ZenHotels. Even through their "calculations," the differences is not even compensated in my bank account, which is obviously not the correct compensation.
Additionally, it took 1 and 1/2 hours just to check-in at Super8 because the Reservation Specialist kept making mistakes and even the front desk manager was frustrated at how unprofessional their Specialist was.
Also, they have been ignoring my emails and my demands for the rightful compensation (emailed them 3 times) and have not gotten a follow-up reply.
I am very disappointed at ZenHotels and how unprofessional their service was and does not make sense to just strand their customers on the streets for 4~5 hours on a rainy day (I have mentioned to quicken to process but kept on arguing how it was not their fault(????)).
I do not recommend anyone to use their service and I would rather pay a bit more to use a more secure and liable reservation site.

"I was planning the trip for my parents (they are not very good at using the Internet stuff but they want to travel too!) and it was super easy. I made a booking in 10 minutes, called zh's support to confirm my booking and that was it. Two steps and you can just relax. No problems during the trip so I cannot say much more."

"I have had a terrible experience with Zen Hotels. I made a booking, and somehow during the process the booking was duplicated. I was made aware of this the next day and contacted them immediately to refund the duplicate booking. They have refused to cancel and refund the booking and have £300 of my money. The staff in the call centre are not helpful at all."

This booking sight is a scam, DO NOT TRUST.
I booked a room that was advertised with a private pool when I clicked to reserve I even took a screen shot which was lucky that showed that what I chose included a private pool.
Once booked and PAID I received my hotel confirmation and the room was completely different to the one I booked and paid for and did not include a private pool.
I called to confirm that this was not just a typo and that it did in fact have a private pool, the customer service is SHOCKING they didn't even know themselves if it did or not and said they would contact the hotel and get back to me. NO RESPONSE so I contacted the hotel directly they were very quick to get back to me and confirmed that I received the wrong room and that they were sold out of the room that I wanted.
After another 4 calls and numerous emails with proof of FALSE ADVERTISING to ZenHotels they are still denying a problem, and denying me a refund. The calls I was met with extremely rude and definitely not knowledgeable people. I assume most reviews below are fake as all the customer service I have received is dodgy illegal. I will be taking it further as this company practices fraud and pays their support team (that work remotely with terrible telephone connections) to cover it up for them.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR MONEY."

"we booked an apartment the night before we left to go on a weekend trip and I got a confirmation of the booking and it also said that it was fully paid, but then when we were on the way we called up the hotel because we would likely arrive late and wanted to let them know and the hotel tells us we do not have a booking with them!! so we had to call zen hotels and explain the situation and they did not really help to resolve it. we had to call the hotel and the customer service back and forth while being in the car, one of us driving in pouring rain!!
so we finally get offered a new place to stay the weekend just before we arrived at our destination, to then as we arrive, get told that the hotel is a CHILDREN'S RESORT (to clarify we went to the Gold Coast, Australia and we are two young adults WITHOUT children) and that we do not belong there by the receptionist.. on top of that, she also told us there is no booking under my name and we had to call zen hotels again and had to legit hand the reception my own phone because god knows why they could not call themselves!!
The rooms in this resort were not at all similar to what we booked on the website and not get but as we were already tired and just wanted a place to sleep for the night, we stayed there.
As we did not want to spend our whole weekend in a children's resort, we told them that they need to find us a new place for the next night and it better be the standard we booked and paid for and the mister on the phone acted like it was our fault that all this happened the whole time. They send us an option for the next night and it was nothing like what we booked, so we said no and had to search for an eligible hotel ourselves (great customer service, really!)
on a side note: we had to call the customer service up all the time and it is in cyprus (which cost us at least $10-15 in credit) because they rarely called us with updates or when they were supposed to call us! Also, we were supposed to receive emails from them and never did, so we had no other choice then call them up...
I still can't believe how bad this experience was and how little was done by the customer service themselves without our help to resolve this!!"
