"I have bought a lot of equipment from Zipzoomfly as far back as the GoogleGear days and never had a problem - good prompt service and just a few HD's DOA but promptly replaced However, in Nov 2006 I ordered over $1K in equipment and they stuck it to me - the MB must have been a return and had the jumper options messed-up, the pkg was missing the I/O shield and a week later the SATA controller went out - Cust Svc said they would send out a new MB - it never happened and now they won't answer my e-mails or return my phone calls - the 2G of DDR-2 800 TwinX XMS Corsair had a bad stick and I had to go to the MFR for replacement - my advice is like another listed - ZZF has better $ than Newegg but if you think the item might need a RMA don't buy from ZZF - spend the additional $ and go Newegg."

"This is one of the best stores for electronic items on the Internet. What makes it one of the best is its honesty -- the site will say "in stock" only if the item is really in stock -- unlike other stores that lie to customers. Also, service was very prompt. Excellent Store, With Great Prices!"

"I have been shopping with ZipZoomFly for years, and I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with them, easily. Don't believe me, check out my orders...

And the truth is, I am sick and tired of them. It takes them at least 2 and sometimes as many as 4 and 5 business days to ship orders. When there is a problem, they are slow to handle them, and seem to just not give a rat's ass.

The latest fiasco went like this. I ordered four 8800 GTS video cards on Jan 6th. They supposedly shipped on Jan 8th and I received a tracking number. FedEx tracking showed estimated delivery on Jan 10th, as it was 2-day shipping, for which I paid extra.

Jan 10th came around, no package. I tracked it online, and this time, there was no estimated delivery, in fact it looked like nothing ever left ZZF. I wrote ZZF an e-mail. They responded in about 24 hours, but said there was a mix-up and they ran out of the video cards before mine were supposed to ship.

That didn't make any sense, seeing as I had a tracking number, which, at one point in time, showed up as valid according to FedEx tracking.

They supposedly shipped them out to me the day they responded to my email. They did NOT give me another tracking number. They did not care that I needed the video cards when I expected them. They did not reimburse me for shipping, and they didn't even offer to charge me the new, lower price listed on their website the day the items alledgedly shipped.

They just don't give a damn. It's just that simple. And if they treat ME this way, someone who spends loads of cash with them, month after month, year after year, how do you think they will treat you? Do yourself a favor and shop at NewEgg, or somewhere else. Stay away from ZZF.

" I ordered from zipzoomfly because I did a price comparision and they had the best prices plus their was a rebate. I placed my order, knowing that I would not receive in time for christmas, but that I would receive within 5-7 business days
in addition to paying for 1-2 day delivery charges. I had to go through a verification process with the credit card company in order to order from zipzoomfly, which took me an extra 30 minutes, before charges would be debited from my account. I placed the order and then I was off to a holiday gathering out of town. All the while I was out of town, I just knew my order was on its way. Upon my returning home, I received an email stating that zipzoomfly had to verify my order before they could ship it. I called the customer service number , which I had to leave a message and my phone number. They said they would return my call, which they never did. I had to call twice before I spoke with someone to get the order to ship. I was fuming mad. I spoke with the supervisor, who was very abrupt with me and who was pushing me into cancelling my order. When the item did ship, I received it in alright condition. If it wasn't for the price of me saving $20, I would have never dealt with zipzoomfly ever again. I don't think I ever will. The price will have to be dirt cheap in comparision to others.

"On December 30, 2006, I ordered two hard-to-find BenQDW1650 DVD burners from ZipZoomFly. This was my first order with them, as I’d heard very good things about them. I posted my “new find” with a user’s forum and then several others followed suit. As shipments began to reach the customers, it was discovered that the wrong item entirely was being shipped out. ZipZoomFly was shipping 1650V DVD-ROM drives. Naturally the RMAs began to hit. My shipment was one of those which got switched, too.

I received my package on January 8, 2007 and immediately requested an RMA. An RMA was almost instantly issued along with a statement they would issue a prepaid shipping label. Well, that never happened. What they did issue a day later was supposed to be a FedEx RPS (Return Package Service) shipping code which I was to take to FedEx and they’d do their thing and that’d be it.

It took my lunch hour on January 10 to take care of it and wouldn’t you know it, the clerk at FedEx had no clue how to do this service. After asking around and apparently getting some info, he informed me the FedEx PRS RMA label number was invalid, that I had to contact the vendor (ZipZoomFly).

I called ZipZoomFly only to get an automated service telling me to leave my name and number and they’d call back. Then, I emailed them asking for a reissued label with a valid number or an actual return label I could print out. The reply from them was their manager has been informed and I’d be getting a new, valid number. Still waiting.

In the meantime, I’m still out $78. That was my first and last order with ZipZoomFly, even though they promised a full refund due to their error.

"I wish I had checked their Better Business Bureau record before dealing with them. Zipzoomfly a.k.a GoogleGear is the epitome of a poor vendor.

I had ordered a Benq DW1650, which is a DVD burner, on 12/31/06, immediately after Zipzoomfly got them in stock. I had done business with Zipzoomfly once before, with no problems. The order was to ship the next business day, but for some reason, they held this order pending verification. Zipzoomfly didn't notify my of this fact until several days later. When I did complete their verification process on the next day, on 1/3/07, they promised my order was available and would be released immediately for shipment. Supposedly, it was packed and ready to ship. I checked the order status on the Zipzoomfly website on 1/7/07 and found it was still "packed". When I contacted ZZF by phone on 1/8/07, they informed me that the item was discontinued and no longer available, but never canceled my order or notified me of the fact that my item was no longer available. If I hadn't called, I'd still be waiting for my order.

This is a real problem to anyone who depends on reliable service. To top matters off, the customer service department was unhelpful and directed you to leave messages, rather than let me speak to a human being who could resolve the issue. It took a while to reach a live person.

There are far better retailers out there - Tigerdirect, Mwave, etc. - who typically have lower prices and won't jerk you around. There is no need to deal with shady services like Zipzoomfly.com.

"Terrible experience from this company. ZipZoomFly feels like my version of Tiger Direct that people love to hate. It's a pain to deal with and with terrible return policy. Don't deal with this company if the product you plan to purchase has a possibility of been defective and is on sale. They will ask you to ship it back and also want you to insure the junk product. It's already defective why insure? All at your own expense! You will have to pay this cost. Not only that they don't even respond back unless you inquire about your order and the reponse is way too robotic. Don't expect a phone number you will not find it. Just short terse email response. Now I want the product replaced. They claim that it's out of stock and without even asking me, they refund the product. Now I'm down return shipping cost and have no product to show for it. I check the website and sure enough the product is in stock and not on sale anymore. So they screwed me both ways. This company sucks. This whole painful process took over 5 weeks. Terrible company."

"Enjoyable shopping experience. Ordered 1/3/2006, shipped 1/5/2006. Not the fastest turnaround, but it is prompt, and well communicated. Well organized website. Their policies for CPUs, HDs, RAM, etc. is rather restrictive compared to compeditors. Overall, 4 stars out of 5 for shopping experience, though I would only shop at ZipZoomFly if they had the lowest price/best deal."
