"BE SURE TO READ THE UPDATES BELOW.

I ordered a video card and wanted to return it because it was defective. Fair enough, right?

It took me 10 minutes to navigate their phone tree. I finally got frustrated and started mashing keys. Strike 1.

I was told I'd be charged 25% restocking for doing this. I haggle for about 15 minutes, letting them know I'd purchase another, more expensive item. FINALLY, they relent. Strike 2.

Two weeks later, they have my item, and they claim to have credited my card on the website, but my CC company shows no credit. Strike 3.

I call their phone number (NOT EVEN AN 800 NUMBER!) 15 minutes before they close and am greeted with a looped recording of their store hours. Strike 4.

I should never have purchased from them. NEWEGG NEVER charges me restocking fees and you always get to someone right away when you call. Not only that, but they even REFUND the return shipping I have to pay for RMAs.

What a waste of time ZZF is. Even it it's more expensive, I'll stick with Newegg.

UPDATE: 12-13-2006 @ 1100MST

Tried to call and check on my credit, but was asked to leaved a message because everyone was busy? What is this, 1980?

Still no credit, but I'm being charged a restocking fee of 15% because they claim the card tested OK, despite not POSTing in two seperate computers.

Strike...5 now?

Here's strike 6,7,8 and 9.

I know the card was defective because it was missing several capacitors. It was PHYSICALLY damaged. There's NO WAY it was working as it was missing components. Sounds to me that ZZF is charging me the restocking fee, while simultaneously sending the defective card back to the manufacturer and getting credit. Double-dipping, if you will.

Never again with these guys. STAY AWAY.

UPDATE 2: 12-13-2006 @ 1339MST

I've been trying for over an hour to get them on the phone in the middle of a business day. Each call is the same, 5 minutes of being on hold, then a voicemail. Worthless.

UPDATE 3: 12-13-2006 @ 1429MST

I've been trying to get ZZF on the phoen to no avail. I'll try a bit longer, I think I'll call the credit card company and file their charge as fraud. What a mess.

UPDATE 4: 12-13-2006 @ 1442MST

I finally got in touch with someone. Oddly enough, it's the same person from earlier today, and the same person who took my RMA several weeks ago. My hold times and this information would lead one to believe they have a staff of 1.

Anyway, the gentleman said he'd talk to his manager and request the test report, then contact me later today. The headaches continue.

UPDATE 5: 12-14-2006 @ 1038MST

Of course, I never got a call back yesterday. I'll start the excrutiating task of attempting to get a hold of someone there early today.

UPDATE 6: 12-15-2006 @ 1033MST

I didn't have time to call yesterday. Of course, I didn't hear from them today either. I just tried calling them and I got a busy signal.

UPDATE 7: 12-20-2006

They finally offered me $36 as I "wasn't entitled to even that." They also recommended I call back in a few days as the credits don't always go through. Wow.

"This order took over a week to get here, despite 2 day delivery, and then did not have the $400 memory that I ordered. Online it said shipped, while the packing invoice said backorder. Sent several e-mail, spoke to customer service. I want to cancel my memory backorder and get it from somebody else, but can't. Did they take me for $400.00? N****g never would.
I wish I had come here before placing my order.
And I really wonder about the people that don't have any problems and rate them highly. Are they that lucky?

"I paid for 2 day delivery! IT TOOK 5 DAYS TO BE DELIVERED!! Also the hard drive I ordered was described as having 16 MB cache. BUT IT ONLY HAS 8 MB CACHE! Slow order processing and misrepresented the item on their web site! I WILL NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!"

"Great prices. Only beef I have is that zipzoomfly.com takes a day to process the order, longer if you're using the free shipping, and then they take about a day to update the shipping status and provide the shipping number. Overall, a great place, though."

"I will never do any transactions with this company again. They are charging me for a Boxed Motherboard
and sending me one from Bulk. That is a barebones motherboard. They do not answer their phone or return messages.
Stay Away from ZIPZOOMFLY

"I received a defective product (Abit AW9D-Max) from them and returned within thirty days...they have now refused to replace it saying that it has physical damage done to one of the pins on the cpu socket. I returned the product because the cpu fan header did not work out of the box.

For those that do know me, you know I have been in IT for a very long time and have built hundreds of boxes and have never had any issues...

I was basically told on the phone that if I didn't damage the socket, then the USPS did and that they WILL NOT help me. I went through several "managers and supervisors" and they all gave me the company line. I see now why I should have bought from newegg.com.

"In stock item I ordered did not ship for 14 days. Many of my inquiry emails were not answered.

ZZF says the item shipped late becase the item is "Back ordered" but during the 14 days, it always showed up "In stock". They also charged me for the 2'nd day FedEx when they shipped it after 14 days from the order date.

"I've placed two orders with ZZF in the past month. Both were disappointing.

First I ordered some raid card batteries on 11/17/06. Ten days later my items still hadn't shipped. I contacted customer service and they told me the items were on back order! Even though they showed in stock when I placed my order and STILL showed in stock when they told me they weren't. I asked them to cancel my order, and even got a notice that my order was canceled. Well, 5 days later, I just got a notice that my items had shipped! So now I have these coming from 2 different places since I reordered them from another store.

I also ordered a TV on 12/3 and on 12/6 it has yet to ship as well. They don't get in ANY hurry to ship out your items. I paid with Paypal to get the free upgrade in shipping to 2 Day Fedex. A lot of good that does me now.

"Ordered a Hitachi hard drive for my laptop. The drive is here now and works fine. The packaging was a little on the sloppy side. The drive was in a protective foam box but loose inside that box. They should have stuffed some foam peanuts into that box."
