"Placed an order on 10/21/06 (which was a Saturday). On Mon 10/23/06 I received and email saying they needed to verify my address because it didn't match (it does). I called the # and received v/m. I called the next morning since it was after buisness hours on Mon. Tues AM my call (long distance BTW) to both the verification department and customer service went straight to v/m. I left a voicemail with the ver. dept. I also sent an email to cust. service. It is now Wed. 10/25/06 and I have left another message with the verification dept (do they actually have live people at this company?) and my order still shows as processing with no option to cancel (even though there is supposed to be a cancel now button). As it is my order placed with newegg.com(at the same time) will arrive before my order with ZZF is processed. I will never order from them again!"

"I placed an order for two sticks of Corsair CMX1024RE-3200 memory on Oct 11. At that time, the memory was listed as being in stock. Credit card was charged on Oct 12, and when I checked the order status the following day it was listed as 'packed'. So far, so good.
I'd requested 2-day shipping, so when nothing arrived by Oct 17 I checked the order status page and saw that it still showed 'packed'. Placed a call to customer service and was informed that the memory was backordered, and that they didn't have an ETA for when it would be available. At that point I cancelled the order. The correct amount was credited back to my card, and this was done in a reasonable timeframe (within 1 week of cancellation).
Bad points: In my view, a credit card should not be charged for an item that's on indefinite backorder.
Room for improvement: On the order status page, a status of 'packed' should truly mean that an item is being boxed up for shipment - there should be a separate status if an item is backordered. Emailing the customer to inform them that a shipment has been delayed by a backorder would also be appropriate. (Items going out of stock and getting backordered can happen to the best of companies - just need to keep the customer in the loop.)
Good points: The customer service rep I spoke with was articulate, friendly, and professional. There were zero problems cancelling the order."

They are refusing to issue an RMA on an Asus motherboard (albeit outside their 30 day rule) that the entire aftermarket community knows was misrepresented as compatible with core 2 duo chips. They are saying that they don't care that the wait for the chip (my core 2 duo chip was delayed in shipping for over a month) took me outside the 30 day policy or that the motherboard was misrepresented. They no longer sell the motherboard and they will not take it back - even after I said that i'd purchase the replacement board through them. update: 'Greg' an 8 year service represenitive has asked nicely I update my review of them. I check ed my bank account and finally received my refund of $180. It took 60 days is all....
so in all fairness, I will update this review to 2 stars instead of 1!
Greg has tried to convinve me that I should continue to shop with ZZF. He has offered me a 'FREE 2 day shipping upgrade on my next purchase.'
I don't think this is much of an incentive here, even if they offered me onvernight shipping that would not change the 'packed = back-order' problems.
Again though, in all fairness - when ZZF doesn't screw up your order it is shipped fast and by my favorite carrier FED-EX. UPS is terrible where I live, I have yet to recieved an 'undamaged' package from UPS.
So bottom line: I still think ordering from this company involves risk when things go wrong. I am not a gambler so don't care much for risk.
One final thought: "If this company truly cared about customer service, they wouldn't wouldn't have a long distance contact number!"
ZIPZOOMFLY must DIE!
I have been a customer of googlegear for years (since 99) - well 4 strikes your outa here!
Strike 1 - sent me a 'used' mobo. It had bent IDE pins and missing accessories.
Strike 2 - sent me a beige DVD-RW after ordering a black unit.
Strike 3 - ordered a viewsonic projector AND ceiling mount. They delayed my ordered a week waiting for the ceiling mount they had to backorder. After a week of being 'packed' they finally sent my $800 projector and left it at my doorstep in the manufactures box (had a big picture of the prokector, you could tell what it was from the street curb.
STRIKE 4 your outta here! - after 3 weeks of waiting for the ceiling mount, I canceled the order after 2 hours of long distance calls. Then 3 weeks after that the idiots send out the ceiling mount! I lucky was checking the status on there site and saw they shipped it out (I was looking for my $180 they still have) - but I called them and complained at a higher tone than is in my nature. THEN they finally call FED-EX and stop delivery. That was the second week of OCTOBER I ordered this thing September 6th!!!!
Heres the kicker: they received the item back on OCT. 14th - 2 weeks ago, and they still refuse to refund my money!! $180 for a stupid ceiling mount and have been waiting my the unit/refund for 2 months now.
I have told the flakey REP.'s of ZZP that I will NEVER order again from them.

I have had issues with Newegg before, and they are awesome. Not only will they compensate you $$ for return shipping when it is a clear case of VENDER FAULT- they APOLOGIZE for their mistakes. ZZF acts like this is my fault they suck!! After reading the COMMON 'back-order = packed' issues I know I am not the only one! This company has been blacklisted as fraudulant by many banks and credit card company lists. That there should be enough for anyone out there to clearly see the gamble you are taking from ordering from ZZP.
BOTTOM LINE - they have STOLEN my money and precious time. Don't be ignorant and risk a problem with ZZP- they will make you wish you never heard of them.
Further, once I bought a powersupply from NEWEGG that had a 'manufacturer return only' - after receiving a DOA unit I faxed the manufactuer 3 times with no response. So I called Newegg and they offerred to take the unit back even though they orginally said they wouldn't warrantee it! AND they gave me 2 REFUNDS. 1 for $15 return shipping, and another $10 for the hassle. Talk about customer service!!! NEWEGG ROCKS - they CARE and I mean big time. The though of losing a customer at newegg is taboo....."

"I bought some RAM from ZZF back in December '05. There was a $25 rebate on the RAM. I submitted the rebate, and it was rejected because "The receipt you submitted is from a non-qualifying store" (from the rebate center). Apparently, the rebate was only good at Newegg. So, I contacted ZZF about the problem. Over the course of several emails, ZZF maintained that there had never been a rebate during that time period. Because of their response, I informed them that I would never shop at ZZF again, and would tell other not to shop there either. My reasons: I think someone at ZZF put up the wrong rebate on the RAM (2 days after my purchase, the rebate changed). I have no problem with an honest mistake. However, when ZZF repeatedly denied having a rebate at that time, I figured something was wrong. Either they were lying, or someone had erased the evidence that they had made a mistake. Either way, ZZF wasn't even willing to give a customer (and a decent customer at that...I built a fast computer with parts from ZZF) the benefit of the doubt to rectify the situation. If ZZF wont' extend any level of trust to me, they aren't worth dealing with. "

I usually place an order with them every month or two. In the past, I had never needed their customer service department so I always disregarded the negative reviews of this merchant because they had always gotten my packages to me on time. Well, when I saw that this order would not be delivered on time I called customer service. After being a loyal customer for 5 years and having placed at least 40 orders with them the customer service agent hung up on me. I had to call back to cancel the order. When I did, I asked to speak with a manager. I was sent to a voice mail and left a message. My message was never returned. As long as you don't have to deal with customer service this business may be right for you but if you need customer service I hope you have lots of time because they may hang up on you too no matter how long you have been doing business with them.
