"I ordered a single 1 gig stick of ram from this store. I already own 3 of the same brand and model and needed a fourth. the price and ordering went fine. I received the item on time. however when I opened the package and inserted the ram the computer would not post(startup) I removed the ram and looked at it. then I removed the stick beside it to compare. it is at this time that I noticed several differences the pcb(pressed circuit board was a different color(black) then the other sticks(green), the heatsink tape was bubbled and malformed. and that it lacked the RoHS compliant on the label. also the packaging that the ram came in again looked normal but had two stickers on it one a green inventory sticker the other a hand written note of some kind. I realize that its just the package but it is a bit concerning to know there was need to hand write something on a white sticker for this item. I called customer service to return the item however the service person though friendly lacked knowledge of the product. I explained the difference that I saw and was given an RMA number to return it. I was told that they are going to inspect the product to make sure that it is not what I ordered and if this is the case I will be refunded the 15% restocking fee. I am currently sending it in and hoping that I wont have to eat around 20 dollars for this little adventure. this was my first experience with zipzoomfly and though the shipping was fast and the prices fair the product was iffy and now I am left to wait and see what will happen. I intent to update this as soon as the RMA is concluded. update i ended up eating the shipping and restocking i have been out of the country and their emails went to junk mail and were deleated (if they ssent any) so i never had any further contact with them. i am sticking to newegg in the several RMA i have had to do with them this type of thing never occured. "I ordered an Asus motherboard (P5W DH Deluxe), an eVGA 7600 GT KO graphics card, and a 2GB kit of DDR2-800 OCZ memory on 7/27/2006. At the time of order, all items were listed as in stock.
Problem 1 (relatively minor)
The entire amount (700.02) was charged to my credit card on 7/28, and I received an email on 7/29 stating that my order had shipped. Upon checking the shipping status on 7/31, I saw that the graphics card was backordered (this seems to be a common complaint). I called about this and they said that it was an accident and that it might be in stock within the week. On 8/2, I received an email stating that they cancelled the item and promised to refund my money within three days. I didn't get a credit until 8/10 after calling to ask about it, and then they forgot to credit the sales tax. I finally got the sales tax credited on 8/18.
Problem 2 (major)
Since the graphics card didn't come with the RAM and the mobo (delivered 7/31), I did not immediately begin building my computer. I left the mobo and RAM in their boxes for safe keeping, but when I took them out a few days later to start setting things up, I saw that the mobo was damaged on one corner. After seeing this, I noticed that the retail box was also bent slightly on the same corner.
ZipZoomFly wanted to set up a claim against FedEx. Very unfortunately, I had already recycled the shipping box. I'd like to state that the shipping box was only slightly larger around than the mobo retail box (no room for padding). The RAM was placed at the bottom, then the mobo, and then a few air-packs on top. Also, this Asus mobo box has *no* extra padding - the mobo just sits on the bottom of the box (in its static bag) and goes to the edge all the way around.
FedEx recommends several inches of padding on all sides of fragile items; I'm sure they wouldn't have approved this claim if I still had the shipping box.
The memory was RMA'd, found to be defective, and a new one was shipped to me.
Although they initially said they would do nothing about the motherboard without the shipping box, then relenting and agreeing to an RMA, then sending it back saying that because it was "physically damaged" they could do nothing, they have somehow convinced FedEx to pay for it and they refunded my money. I ordered a replacement, and ZIPZOOMFLY SHIPPED THE NEW MOTHERBOARD IN THE EXACT SAME TOO-SMALL BOX WITH NO PADDING ***AGAIN***!!! I simply could not believe it. It’s like they have the Keystone Kops working there or something. Luckily this motherboard appears undamaged, but I’d rather it hadn’t been through the mail with no padding.
Now they won’t refund the return shipping cost for the defective RAM and the damaged motherboard. They said that it’s not their responsibility if goods arrive damaged. They also said that if I bought something at Best Buy and it didn’t work, then I would have to take it back to the store myself. Well, if Best Buy delivered a defective HDTV to my living room, I don’t think they’d try to charge me $200 to send it back to the store. Maybe what ZipZoomfly is really trying to tell me is that it would be better to shop at Best Buy than with them.
I strongly advise everyone to always check everything thoroughly immediately upon receipt and make sure you save your shipping box. And think twice before you order from ZipZoomfly!

"Ordered a 2x1GB DDR2 kit from them. Great price, recieved an email for confirmation, and another when it shipped the next day. The memory should arrive today (Fedex shows it as on the truck). Assuming everything in the package is in good shape, I will definitely order from here again.

edit3: I received the CPU on time and as advertised. It works great! Holy crap it's fast: I installed XP Pro in under 15 minutes! That's compared to the 45 it took with my old setup (P4 Northwood 2.4GHz, 1GB DDR400, 865PE chipset). Just for reference my new setup is C2D E6600, 2GB DDR2-800, P965 chipset. ZZF will definitely get my business in the future, as they usually match or beat Newegg's prices."
"Ridiculous policy of refusing to forward packages to non-confirmed Paypal addresses (mine is a P.O. Box, which cannot accept FedEx/UPS deliveries). FedEx wanted to forward(I have a FedEx account as well), but said ZZF refused. I tried to convince ZZF to allow FedEx to forward in multiple emails, they continued to refuse, suggesting I drive 70 miles round-trip to get my package from the FedEx hub! I refused delivery, and to add insult to injury, they imposed a restocking fee on a brand new, unopened product, when a simple call to FedEx granting a forward to a well-established FedEx-known address would have resolved the entire situation. Pathetic service and onerous policies ensure I will dissuade others from patronizing ZZF."
