Terrible tech support

"Tech support, Roy, is arrogant and constantly talks over you so you can't finish your thoughts and questions. He needs to become a better listener and stop being so arrogant. Very dissatisfied with his personal skills. "

Don't buy from ALT-E

"3 1/2 years ago, we purchased 2 Kilovault 1800hlx batteries from Alt-e for our 24 volt PV system in our rv. We had them installed by a certified solar technician. We very seldom used the system that year because we were parked mostly in places that had full hookups. After about 15 months, we moved to our off grid property and put our system into full time use. Within one month of using the system full time, we began having random shutdowns. We spent the next 2 months working with Alt-e's Tech support and paying close to $600 having solar technicians come out to do testing on everything that Alt-e wanted tested. Meanwhile we were having numerous shutdowns every day and night. My husband sleeps with a c-pap so his sleep was broken every single night when we lost power. Finally, Alt-e agreed to send ONE new battery AFTER we returned (at our expense $110) the battery that was defective. We were displaced from our home during the 3+ weeks it took to receive the new battery. We spent the next year or so with no problems with the system.  The the weekend after Thanksgiving 2022, we started having shutdowns again. We again paid 2 different technicians for 2 different trips each to diagnose the problem.  After checking every component of our system as well as all other components in the rv, the concensus was the batteries were bad. We again spent a month sending screen shots and testing whatever Alt-e wanted tested. We moved out of our home again on December 20th to wait for the new batteries to be shipped. We received them and got them installed on January 3rd. Within about 6 hours we began having shutdowns again. About 5 days later, we lost power and it didn't come back on. Ironically, Alt-e had sent one battery that didn't have a reset button. We called to question that and they said it wasn't a problem. The batteries are the same just one has a different case. Hmmm...anyway we once again, for the 3rd time since owning these Alt-e batteries, moved out of our home. (no power to keep the fridge running or the heat on so we had to completely winterize) After now dealing with 3 sets of these batteries in 3 years AND noticing that the Kilovault 1800hlx batteries have been discontinued, we requested they send one 24volt SimpliPhi battery to replace them. We even had our technician call the tech support person and explain all the tests he did and how he concluded the batteries are bad. The tech support guy wanted him to go back out to our property and call him and do the SAME TESTS AGAIN with the tech on the phone! We are staying with family 1 1/2 hours away. So they want us to not only have to pay the solar tech ANOTHER service call but we will have to drive there AGAIN but not be able to live in our home! Alt-e refused. They said we could buy one if we want a different battery. They did offer to send us a much cheaper lead acid battery if we want a different type. And of course they said the WONT WARRANTY THEM!! We are still displaced from our home. Its been 6 weeks and we are no closer to a resolution than we were when we left.
My recommendation is DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!! You will not have a system you can count on and you will spend a lot of money and time trying to get them to stand behind their products.

BUYER BEWARE

"First, flagged my order as fraud and said they didnt process it but yet they already sent one item. (wrong item based on outdated video they have on their site)
Second, they would not refund my money or give me credit torward the correct order until they recieved it back, while they know I set here running a generator 24/7 and they already contacted the shipping company and had it reversed back to them (why should I have to wait to receive my money back on something I was never going to even have my hands on, let alone it was the wrong item.
Third, they told me not to worry they care about me running my generator for power and that they were just gonna charge my card again for the new amount ($1900) instead of applying my $1600 credit they already froze in my account, send me the correct order then when they get their part back, that they made the mistake in sending out and already contacted shipping and had it reversed back to them they would refund my money.
Forth, I specifically told them "no-way do not charge my account again, you will bounce my checking account" but what do you know as soon as I hung up they ran my card again for approx another $1600
Fifth, I still don't have my money back, I'm still using a generator burning about $8 a day running my entire house & I don't have the cash to buy anything else. These people are the worst of the worst. Liars, theives, manipulators & absolutely worst customer service I ever experienced in my life.

"I am extremely satisfied with alteStore.

They walked me through the purchase of a standalone battery / inverter charger system. I have also added a solar panel and controller.

They stand behind there products and recommendations. I am impressed with their patience with a first time buyer, as well as standing behind several issues I have had.

alteStore reacts quickly to my questions and needs, I cannot give them any higher remarks other than if you are in the market for these type of products buy them from alteStore.

"Very bad shopping experience: I ordered an item on Sept 14, 2013, and my credit card was promptly charged. When I did not receive a shipping notice after a few days, I called customer service, who said they would look into it. I then received an email saying that expected shipping date is Oct 21 (even though the website said that 1 item is in stock!). By Oct 22 I still hadn't received any shipping notice, so I called back, upon which I received notification that the item would not ship before the New Year! So I had to cancel the order, after 6 weeks of waiting. The item is still listed as in stock on their website...!"

"2/25/2011 I ordered a set of Whisper 200 replacement blades(part # SOUWHI200-BLADE) The website clearly shows the blades with extensions in the drawing/photo for this product. When I received the blades there were no extensions. Customer "Service" now tells me I have to spend another $130(plus freight) to get all the parts pictured. I will NOT be a repeat customer."
