"I bought a light from aquatraders 3 months ago. I have had problems since the first week. Bulbs and ballasts. I have been in constant communication with them. Yesterday the light fixture began sparking. They told me there was a 30 day warranty so they would not send a replacement. I explained that we have been in communication since the first week with problems, which were not resolved, so please send a replacement . They would not. THIS IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY WITH EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE. While in a chat with them, they always stop responding and disconnect. When you leave a message which I have done 6 times, no one ever calls you back."
"I would pay extra before ever ordering from Aquatraders again. I bought an Odyssea CFS500 filter for my aquarium for $53. online. Great price, but don't count on any support. The O-rings on the lid are too fat, making the "quick-release" valves anything but easy to remove.
I complained to Aquatraders - who had already been advised of this problem as I found out - but they repeatedly ignored my questions and after an evasive email exchange invited me to return the filter to an address in China!
The product is probably an illegal clone of the Fluval FX5, which accounts for the low price. But the support is non existent.
By the way, Aquatraders has an 800 number ***-***-****) which they don't give on their website. Use it, but don't expect anyone to pick up the phone or call back. Buyer beware!"
"I was a bit hesitant to order from aquatraders because:
a.) They had not yet been reviewed on reseller ratings.
b.) A few entries in various forums seemed somewhat negative, even though most seemed positive. Alas, you often can't rely on anything written on open forums.
Since aquatraders had exactly the product I wanted (an LED light for my aquarium and the appropriate OEM timer), I decided to give the company in a try.
Once I placed my order, I immediately received an email confirmation detailing the order.
I had selected regular shipping and the website stated that processing would take anywhere from six to eight business days. Thus, I expected that it would take roughly two weeks before my order would arrive (aquatraders is on the West Cost, I live on the East Coast).
I was delighted to receive another email the next day, telling me that my order had shipped already. The email contained two tracking numbers, one for UPS and the other for USPS. For some reason, aquatraders had decided to divide my order and sent the light and timer in two different shipments.
Package 1 (USPS) arrived after just two days, Package 2 took five days longer.
Both packages arrived without any damages and/or problems. I will say that the light itself was not particularly well packed. Instead, aquatraders simply sent the original box by attaching a shipping label to it. I had expected the box with the light to be put into another, somewhat bigger box in order to protect the contents. As it turned out, this did NOT matter: The light arrived in perfect condition - no damage whatsoever.
Overall, I had a VERY positive experience and would most certainly order from them again."
