"I needed a wide angle lens converter for my Canon Power Shot A590IS. I do not know much at all about photography or cameras. I placed my order for the Canon lens adapter and the wide angle lens converter that was described in the manual. I received an email two days later that the lens is no longer available. I called and spoke to a very knowledgeable and courteous fellow named Charlie. He was awesome. I was kinda bummed out at first and then Charlie told me that he actually has a lens that fits and it is a better one and able to take a wider angle shot than the Canon lens and it cost a little bit less. I asked a few amateur questions and he " very patiently" explained everything in layman terms. The new lens is a Bower DSLR PRO DIGITAL WIDE CONVERTER W/MACRO 0.44X 52mm and works great without any distortion like the fish-eye type. A few days later I was attaching the lens under a bright light, I noticed a chip in the lens glass and called Camerachums. I asked Charlie for his opinion. He told me that since I don't see any spots in the pictures I could choose to keep it or return it for a replacement. I needed to use the lens that week for work. Charlie said "use the lens for now and I will send you a replacement today" I have had a wonderful experience with Charlie at Camerachums and would like to say thank you so much again.
Sincerely,
Jae Ennis

"As with several other raters, I received a message to "call" about my order. I'm glad I checked here before making that call; now I don't have to put up with being insulted by their bait and switch sales people. If they can't resolve "issues" by email, then I don't need to deal with them."
"If I could give these rip-off artists minus stars, I would. Placed an Oder...got an email saying there was a problem and to call them. When I called they tried to sell me an inferior product at a price higher than the one I ordered. When I said no, the camera chums salesman called me a name and told me to 'f' off. This store has changed its name from newdirectworldvideo after being investigated. They also have other names online. Don't be taken in by a store that should be called camera scum."
"BAIT AND SWITCH SCAMMERS. This company runs under many different names all through a service that 'protects' the owners information from the public. They do a classic bait and switch. You order an expensive product, in my case a Sony lens thier price $80 amazon ~$150, and they send you an email 3-4 days later telling you that there is an issue with your order to please call them. Once you call them they tell you that the product is on back order and they will give you a 'better product' for the same price. In my case they wanted to switch my sony 1.7x tele Conversion lens for a 1.45x lens that i can get on amazon for $20 bucks. NO THANK YOU.."
"BACKORDER...........althought in website : IN STOCK & AVAILABLE"
"Bait and switch operation. Rip off artists. AVOID!"
