I received the standard "confirmation call", complete with hard-sell, that you get from all NY camera shops. I was lied to about 2 separate items in an attempt to sell extras:

1. I was told the battery in my new camera would not last more than 30 minutes and 1 hour on standby. That's not even remotely true, but I already knew this, because I had read the reviews.

2. I was offered the warranty and was told that I couldn't buy a 3rd party warranty unless I bought it from them. squaretrade.com, among others, offers them -- you don't need to buy them from the original vendor. This is an outright lie.

Obviously, they also wanted to try to sell me lenses and flash memory, but I was upgrading from a compatible camera, so they didn't push too hard on those items.

However, the item has arrived and it appears to be legit and functioning perfectly. The outer package itself was not sealed with shrink-wrap, but I don't know if they are factory sealed or not. The outer box it was shipped in was not prepared well. The padding was insufficient to fill the air space, and the tape was applied poorly, so the outer box was a little crushed and almost completely open by the time I received the package.

They tried to sell me an extended warranty and extended life battery, but with no pressure, just asked once and accepted my "no thanks". They Called me and upsold me a "package" to include an additional battery, sdhc card, card reader, and some other cheap stuff like cleaner etc. The upgraded package was over $100 on top of the camera price.

The camera, extra card, and everything but the extra battery arrived promptly. I waited weeks for the battery to arrive. It arrived but it was a knock off Panasonic battery and didn't work in the camera. I called and mailed it back and they replaced it with an identical battery which also didn't work.
I was obviously upset and tried to get credit for my "package" but they told me it was more then 30 days so i couldnt get my money back. I had only had the battery for about 2 days because it took them forever to mail it out. They could care less, However they did credit me $20 and give me an extra warranty for my troubles.
After the 2nd bad battery they told me they would send me an original Panasonic battery once they got it in stock. I waited 3 more weeks and nothing... Finally I called them and they told me they were not going to get it in stock and could credit me another $20.

So the bottom line is I never got the product i was promised for the "extra package" and paid over $60 ($100+ price -$40 credit) for a $15 value sd card and a warranty i didn't want or need."
