"I will never, never, never buy anything that need delivery or installation from Costco! Bought a dishwasher at Costco.com. Paid and that is the easiest part. The nightmare start after that. First of all, the delivery and the installation has to be two different days. More than one week after the purchase date. No known timeframe until the night before. Delivery was fine. Installation was never keyed into system. No phone call the night before the said date. Realized something is wrong, called Innovel Solutions (the logistics subcontractor for Costco). Each time I was given different answers. Innovels Solutions promised call back, never call back. It is totally a mess!"
"Original order:
Experience of buying the Charleston bedroom furniture set (order number 839569961) was very frustrating from many angles for us. Due to the upcoming medical reason we needed the furniture set deployed before on the February 11th so we ordered the furniture about 6 weeks in advance on January 1st 2020. The delivery was scheduled for the January 22nd. On the day of delivery, the Metropolitan shipping company asked if we would accept partial delivery due to some damage, we refused.
Reorder:
We called Costco and ordered another set which supposed to be delivered before our required day on the Feb 11th. A few days later the Metropolitan tried to set the February 14th delivery, we refused. We reached Costco’s first layer of management in the online furniture department trying to speed up the delivery and were promised to get a call the next day but it didn’t happen. A few days later we reached the second layer of management, and had another promise to call in 2 days, didn’t happen again. While we were working with Costco Metropolitan folks were continue trying to ship on the February 14th. This 3 parties communication was just bizarre, Metropolitan undercutting Costco and Costco complaining about Metropolitan. Finely we called Costco and in a rather convoluted way were able to get hold of the same second level manager and he promised delivery on the 8th. His effort was successful and Metropolitan verified the delivery date. We requested from both Costco and Metropolitan to have furniture delivered in the factory packaging with visible Costco order numbers.
Second delivery day - February the 8th.
2 guys came in the unmarked white truck. I asked for paper work to verify which of the 2 Costco orders is being delivered, Metropolitan numbers were completely different, no correlation. All furniture was covered with moving blankets with long steel bed supports bars laying on top of the furniture loose. At first, they pulled out the bed footboard. It was completely covered with dust, seems as years of storage or driving. To inspect if there were any scratches, we had to wipe the dust off. Wood finish on both upper corner edges was completely rubbed off, this piece had to travel a long distance to get that level of abuse. We didn’t accept the delivery and Metropolitan folks left. It was a very unpleasant experience of getting a “used” furniture at the price of new one, in fact this was outright a disrespectful slap in the face.
Cancelling the order and getting money back:
We called Costco and canceled the order; they suggested to look elsewhere and promised a quick refund. On Feb. 12th we called Costco asking what is the status of our refund and we were told it would take up to 2 days for the Metropolitan to verified our delivery refusal and up to 7 days to Costco to release our money, a very different message than the one communicated to us just 5 days earlier.
Experience summary:
We spent about 4 hours on the phone with Costco, we were treated with various levels of politeness, some folks were very nice and apologetic some were letting us to believe that we were overdemanding.
To compare to Amazon, we purchased high steel Bunkie boards from Amazon for our soon to arrive Costco bed. Once the Costco order was cancelled it took about 5 min. to process the Amazon return online, UPS came the next day and 1 hour later we had money back in our account.
From our perspective Costco self-served themselves a **** eye on their brand name. We will never buy online furniture from Costco. Our one-star rating is for Costco, excuses that Metropolitan doesn’t call Costco folks back, which we heard from the first level manager, is what it is, excuse, we didn’t pay nor hire Metropolitan. For us it is not the Metropolitan issue, it is THE Costco issue. We pay Costco and expect quality process from Costco, hiring right shipping company with real white gloves not white trucks is THE Costco issue.
We have been Costco members for almost 30 years, but this purchasing saga was from our perspective Costco’s self-inflicted knockout casting shadow on whole Costco business for us – very, very frustrated customers.

"My Washer went out last week. I searched Best Buy, Lowes, and Home Depot, for a good value, they all had the same price on the washer that I was interested in which was on sale at the time. Then I looked at the Costco Site to compare. Same washer was the same price, but Costco offered free delivery and installation, and pick up of our old broken washer, they also double the warranty and offer a 90 day return, just in case. The other stores charged either for the delivery and installation, or an extra charge to pick up our old washer, and did not double the MANU warranty.
Though everyone of the local stores we mentioned all had no more than a 3 day delivery on the washer, and I could pick the time at the time of purchase!, one was even a two day delivery, so I assumed Costco would be the same? ! NO! ! ! ! It has been 4 days since the order was placed, and no action on the order! I called them only to find out in shock that their delivery policy is up 2 weeks to ship then another 1-2 weeks to set up an appointment ! OMFG REALLY ! It is hard for me to transport all the clothes that need to be washed to the laundromat 3 miles away, since I am a disabled vet.
I didn't expect almost a month to get an appliance from their website! The savings from the delivery charge, and warranty is not worth waiting a month, when I can get it in 2 or three days, from the other retailers ! Which now the sale is off !!!!! BE WARNED do not buy ANYTHING from their website, unless if you don't mind waiting 3-4 weeks to receive it !
Well after 5 days, I noticed that their HUB had the washer so I called them, and they told me even though they have it It would be over another week before they would be in my area !! and I could not setup a time until the day before the delivery! REALLY! So from the time I ordered the washer on Feb 14th till it will actually be at my house on Feb 25 (supposedly), would be 11 days! and if I didn't call the hub myself the second I saw it at the hub from the tracking system, it would probably be at least another week for them to get around in calling me to let me know they have it, from what I heard. That is why I called them first!
I still don't have the washer yet, but will update this review once I get it !"
"I ordered a Samsung TV from www.costco.com (Item 9827500, Model QN82Q7DRAFXZA) on 6/17/2019 (delivered on 6/20/2019). The price was $3499.99 with a 15% Costco cash card rebate if paid with the Costco Visa credit card. I applied for this credit card solely due to this offer and was assured by Costco support that if I received the credit card after the promo had expired they'd honor the rebate. This happened, and I called Costco support which honored the rebate in a slightly altered way by providing me a 15% credit on my Costco Visa card. On 7/15/2019 I saw the price for everyone--even those not purchasing with a Costco Visa--had dropped to $2999.99. Costco has a price adjustment policy I took a 7/21/2019 screenshot of stating, "Costco.com will gladly issue a credit for the difference between the price you paid and the promotional price, if your purchase was made online at Costco.com and was within 30 days prior to the change in price. Credits are typically issued within 3-5 business days." On 7/15/2019 I submitted the price adjustment form, confirmation number 190715-002656. Costco did not contact me, so on 7/21/2019 I spoke to a representative who refused to honor the price adjustment, saying I had already received an adjustment. I disagreed stating these discounts should be treated as distinct events and asked to see where in the price adjustment form there were caveats, of which the agent did not do and kept by the decision to not honor the price adjustment. I warned my next course of action would be a BBB complaint. On 7/21/2019 I left a review for the TV here https://www.costco.com/Samsung-82%22-Class-(81.5%22-Diag.)-4K-UHD-QLED-LCD-TV.product.100485491.html, stating my TV review feedback followed by a note on Costco's failure to honor their own price adjustment policy. Costco censored my post by preventing it from posting to the site, although when I try to resubmit, it states I have already submitted. Costco did not inform me of their censorship intent.
On 9/2/2019 I submitted a BBB review of Costco's failure to honor their own price adjustment policy, and they called me on 9/3/2019 admitting that while their online price adjustment policy states no exclusions, their senior leadership refused to honor their price adjustment policy. It's utterly disappointing and an absolute 180 from Costco's normal very customer service-oriented culture."
"Just had this CYBERPOWERPC computer delivered July 10, 2019, and upgraded core programs such as Windows 10 to Professional Edition, Microsoft Office Professional 2019, Norton Security Premium and some Fortran and C++ programming tools. The system is very quiet as well as fast with the wired ethernet and wireless networks operating concurrently with support of gaming, VUDU streaming and other network utilities. Having the OS on the SSD is the only way to go for performance with the data on the 2 TB drive for easy backup of each partition as well as if the system needed to be restored without effecting the data. Performance and looks are all in one system."
"Lately I have had to find ways to save money. I have found that buying in bulk is a HUGE cost saver. Instead of buying a 4-pack or 8-pack of toilet paper at Vons, Safeway or Ralphs, I am buying it by the case at Costco online. I'm getting all my non-perishable goods... paper towels, paper picnic plates, soaps, etc in bulk. Although I'm putting out some bucks up front, in the long run I'm saving big time.
So far, Costco has saved me hundreds of dollars with free shipping for orders over $250. They haven't screwed up anything (yet) and deliver the day after I order.
Bottom line: would I shop here again? Yes, weekly!"
"Worst Service i have ever had
My shipment sat at a truck terminal 20 minutes from my house for 10 days. I called the shipper when they didn't call me only to find out that they couldn't deliver it because it was to big for there trucks. I offered to pick up the shipment myself and was told i couldn't. After 8 hours of calling Costco and the shipper over 10 days and many promises of my shipment being picked up by a different carrier and delivered to me it never happened. Yes they wanted to me to be patient and kept saying they would get it taken care of. Shame on Costco for not dealing with a reputable company and Shame on New Age products for not using a trucking company that could deliver there product. I cancelled my order and will probably cancel my membership.

"My experiences in Costco retail stores are almost always positive, efficient and customer service is upmost in everything they do. Over the past few years I've tried using Costco online and their online pharmacy; they are the opposite - blaming the customer for their mistakes, failing to fill orders, failing to correctly update order information. They remind me of the terrible online retailers when the internet was in it's infancy.
Today (Dec 2017) I tried to find out why an order didn't ship and I've been waiting to contact someone for two hours. The phone support gives wait times of over an hour and I'm over 15 minutes waiting for a "chat" to connect. Costco needs to replace their e-commerce management with the kind of personnel that manage their retail stores.
I'll continue to use Amazon and stay away from Costco online"
