"I had been looking for a headliner for my 2016 Jeep JK for quite a while. I found the CoverKing Topliner online, and liked that it would cover all the interior exposed white surface of the removable Jeep roof. The two removable Freedom Panels and the entire rear roof.
I read about the product at the CoverKing website (coverking.com), and looked for online reviews. I noticed a few reviews that indicated some clients were waiting longer than they expected for their orders to arrive, but a CoverKing representative had responded to their reviews, saying that due to Covid their production had slowed a bit, primarily die to supply-chain issues. They asked clients to allow a couple weeks for updates to the status on the order-status page.
I ordered the headliner online at about 3:00 am on 19MAR21, and received a confirmation email within minutes. However, my credit card was also billed immediately after the order was submitted, even though the CoverKing website had indicated I wouldn't be charged until my order had been processed. No big deal.
The invoice email included a link to check on my order, and I followed that. My order indicated '(1) Processing Order'. The remaining five stages on the status page included: (2) Assembling Components, (3) Pre-Assembly Cutting and Sorting, (4) Sewing/Binding & Final Assembly, (5) Quality Inspection & Packing, and, (6) Shipped.
Every few days I checked the order status, and it remained on (1) Order Processing. I allowed 30 days, till 19APR21, but the status didn't change. I then had to create an account on their support page to submit a form asking about my order.
The next day I received an automated email asking how satisfied I was with their response to my support request. I was directed to follow a link to the support page to actually view their response, but my mobile phone (iPhone 11) returned an error saying the browser wasn't configured to log into my support account.
I checked the online status page again, and the page indicated that I had proceeded all the way to the 5th step, 'Quality Inspection & Packing. Good deal!
A couple days later I checked the status again, and it had gone down to (2) Assembling Components. Okay. But when I checked a few days later, and still today, a month and 10 days after my order, it remains on step (2).
Yesterday, I tried to log into the support page on my home computer. I received an error saying I had the incorrect password. When I attempt to recover the password, I received an error that my email address has not been verified. When I selected 'Resend the verification', I received a 'reset password' email, and follow the link to reset my support password.
However, after receiving a message that my password had been updated successfully, when I attempted to log in, I received the error 'This account is not confirmed. Click here to resend confirmation email.'
I then completed another support request on their support page, asking that someone please call me regarding the order. I wasn't able to find a phone number for the company on the website.
As of today, I hadn't heard back from CoverKing, so I've contacted my credit card company and requested a refund of the $420.99 that was charged.
I get it that there's a pandemic, and that supply-chains, materials, and the labor market is in pretty poor shape just now. But my expectations are that there's no shortage of means to communicate with your customers.
I've given my experience with the company a single star. Not because I feel violated, or traumatized, or that the way my order had gone couldn't have been worse. The single star is because the entire point of the transaction is to exchange money for a product, and CoverKing failed completely at completing the exchange.
Customer support is intended to mitigate any unexpected difficulties that crop up to interfere with the exchange, and communication is the foundation of that mitigation. CoverKing also failed here.
I would opt to reorder the headliner I ordered, but I have no more patience for this particular transaction."
"Daniel helped me with selecting leather seat covers. After several options given at Carid, coverking was the winner for quality and price."
"First I bought a Spacermesh seatcover. Then a gave a great review and the company supized me with a $gift card. That was a great way to keep customer & make then feel good about the sale.I'd recommend them 100% and HAVE already"
"Through Sam's club.com I was able to get a row of neosupreme covers. Sam's club sends you a coverking gift card and you order online. Sam's club has different material covers vs Costco so depending on your preference/price range, order from them, way cheaper than their online store even if you are not members!
Pro: -easy to install (watch YouTube directions, fortunately they had one for toyota sienna), paper instructions are no good.
-Good/great fit, although armrest cover is loose.
-seems durable
Cons- it's custom made according to them, takes 10-20 days from ordering online. I ordered 1/17/2018, I'm still waiting for 2 more orders (2/5/2028)
-subpar rating via yelp keep that in mind.
Overall, I'm happy with the order I got so far, still waiting for two more though, but as stated, I would only get these via Sam's/costco
