"My first thought was money for stuff!
I upgraded my iPhone and had an iPhone 6 Plus that I got an offer from the phone company which was far too low as a trade in. I went on line, did some looking at companies who might offer more. I came across Decluttr as well as some others, and thought, why not use them, and I can get rid of a few old iPads as well.
Their website was very cooperative and helpful in tracking down all the specific information for each device so I knew how to send it off. I packed all the items together and shipped them off to their offices. It took a little over a week to get to them, and then the issues began. I had reset all of the items to factory settings as per their requests.
It arrived at their offices yesterday and today began the problems. The first issue was "Your Apple device is locked", not a huge issue as they gave instructions on how to remotely unlock and decouple the device from my iCloud. An easy fix and then I submitted back to them I had resolved the issue.
Next email, was for the previously locked iPad. "You're receiving this email because the item below has been found to be in a different condition than you originally described." instead of "good" condition, they rated it as "faulty" (it has a nick on the case in the upper right hand corner) and countered an offer that was only 10% of the original offer. Considering it was an older device and the original offer was only $30, I accepted it, again, disappointing, but not a huge deal.
Then another email, "You're receiving this email because the item below has been found to be in a different condition than you originally described." for an iPhone 6 Plus that was in the package. This phone was in original packaging, including charger, headphones and a perfect condition phone. It had never been out of a protective case, had a glass screen protector, and except the finger and face smudges on it, was in "out of the box" condition. Again the offer was 10% of the original offer.
What seemed like a good idea and a good offer turns out is less than honest once you've shipped the product off to them. I wanted to avoid the hassle of going onto Craigslist to sell the items used, I could have gotten more for them than their initial offer but I didn't want to deal with the hassle. Lesson learned.

"Over the years I have sold my old iPhones through various services. My experience and the value I received from declutrr.com was by far the best of all of them. The amount I received from decluttr was $21.00 more than the next closest bid and over $30.00 more than the third. This will be my go to service on my next phone upgrade. "
"Decluttr makes everything incredibly easy. They even send you a shipping label in the mail if you don't have access to a printer! That's going above and beyond :)"
"Fast and easy to use, plus the cash goes straight to my bank account! Job Well Done!"
"Processing and payment were super fast! Very easy process with the app and being able to scan bar codes. "
"After purchasing a used cell phone, I found it wasn't going to work for me. Looking for a way to recover the fund's I misspent, I'd tried various sites. Decluttr turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The site was very simple to use, the payout was better than I expected and the turn-around time was only 3 days! I'm happy with the whole experience and skills I need to again, I'll sell them first to sell my unwanted tech "
"I recently sold my old iPhone to Decluttr and it went perfect. I’m always nervous selling to a new place online, but they were quick and paid me exactly what the estimate said (since the iPhone was clean and perfectly working). I highly recommend using this service to aid in less waste of old electronics."
"It was very easy scanning the bar codes, they provided a UPS label and the turnaround for my payment was extremely quick via PayPal. I look forward to doing business again "
"Not only did I get $30 more then every other site was offering, I also the money directly deposited in my account within a week. Couldn't of been any easier of a process. Just send it off and wait for the money. Would give more stars if it was a option"
"Decluttr app is so easy to use , fast and shipping to Decluttr is free! I sent all my old cd collection to Decluttr and can’t wait to sell more! "
"So I was offered 44 $ on a cell phone. When they received the phone I was giving a counter offer of 4$.. the reason they said was due to a green screen. I declined the offer and the sent back my phone and kept the iPhone box and my charger!!!! This company is full of crooks use another company "
"Sold me a ‘great condition’ phone and a charging cable. Phone came dirty with stickers and chips, they forgot charging cable altogether. Customer Service offered $10 refund despite the fact that okay condition phones are $40 cheaper AND they forgot the charging cable.
Buyer Beware: false advertising combined with poor customer support means you get screwed and no way to get help."
"The process of selling my iPhone was so simple. I received my check within 10 days. Thank you Decluttr!!!"
"Had and awful experience. Will never do business with them again. I sent an order worth $126 and only received $99. I can understand some items not having value, but you're better off selling on your own. I spoke with customer service three times throughout this transaction. Every person I spoke with was rude and unpleasant to speak with. Terrible company stay away. I'm going to do everything in my power to warn people of my experience."
"I recently sent in 2 iphones and luckily I screenshot my Order Detail & Number. I went into MyAccount & printed the label -UPS store to send & received a receipt. A few days later I received an email that it was received yet the next day upon checking the status I noted the entire order was deleted. I emailed Custoner Support and received a response from Jasmine S asking me to send the welcome pack and IT was investigating. I immediately sent the tracking number and screenshots. The next day I received a message that IT is investigating yet no ETA - thats it. I havent received anything else and have been in contact with attorneys to find out what I can do. Please take pictures of EVERY click. I had another order that received only a few dollars as some items were rejected. I nevef received any feedback on tje rejected items nor were the rejected items returned.
Please beware. Pay $15-20 at a Flea Market to sell in person instead. I was left hanging to someone to profit off of my iphones. Please dont take the same risk. Be safe with this company."
