"I recently purchased a motherboard (ASUS P5B) from directron.com. When I installed it I kept receiving an error message. So I called ASUS and after careful troubleshooting they said that the motherboard was bad and said to let directron know and so I did. I was given an RMA number and I carefully sent the mother board back them and paid for shipping. This was on 1/03/08. Today 1/16/08 and I received a another box from them and you can not begin to understand how upset I was when I saw the same motherboard just like I sent it with a note saying that the serial number on the motherboard does not match the one on the box it came with. So I called them again and spoke with someone from the RMA department and he explained that the motherboard that I sent back is not the one they sent me! Ok, I understand that some people can be fraudulent and try to pull a fast one but then why did'nt anyone call or at least e-mail me?! Here I have been waiting and even paid for shipping for a new motherboard and instead I'm accused of fraud! Look, I can send a bank report showing recent purchases and e-mails from all the other online stores where I have been purchasing parts from and they can clearly see I have only purchased one motherboard and it was from them! The motherboard I sent is an ASUS P5B and it looks exactly like the one displayed on the box. I sent them the box, cables, jumpers, and manual for an ASUS P5B board!!! This error was on their side and I should not have to pay anymore out of my pocket for this. I was told they would give me $10.00 credit for my next purchase, well no thank you. I have never had this kind of problem with other major online stores. I called ASUS and explained this to them and they agree, some one dropped the ball on their end. ASUS is gladly going to take the motherboard and send me another one. I went with directon.com because of the low price but after having to pay for two shippings the cost is not worth this hastle. Tyr newegg, pcalchemy, amazon but not these guys. They have one guy in the RMA department and when I asked to speak with the main person in charge I was told that the owners were not there at the moment! Please!!!

"I ordered almost $3,000 worth of parts before Christmas. THEY NEVER CAME!! I called to tell them and they started their investigation on the 20th of December. I still have not received the parts or a refund (today is Jan. 25, 2008). They have told me that they will not refund or send new parts until they get paid from UPS who is fighting having to pay (even though there was a "signature required" for delivery)!! Meanwhile, my credit card is collecting interest and charging me a minimum payment on charges for merchandise I never received!! I ordered from a different online store three days prior (different shipping method), it supposedly came at the same time (didn't receive either - highly suspicious on UPS' part). the other store credited me back 3 weeks ago!! Directron's customer service SUCKS!!!! I have contacted the BBB and my credit card company and I am fighting this hard! I tried to give Directron the benefit of the doubt, but they obviously don't care about good customer service, just the almighty dollar!! What happens if UPS never pays them? I guess they think I should get stuck with a bill for merchandise I never received. Whatever happens with UPS, I should not have to pay for merchandise I didn't receive. Directron should be considerate enough to credit me back while they resolve this issue internally! I shouldn't get stuck in the middle of their tantrum war with the shipper!! Bad sportsmanship and extremely poor customer service!! I have already ordered a couple thousand dollars worth of parts from the other company (which they won't let me mention here - hint: it has egg at the end of it's name), and I would have given Directron another chance if they weren't so ignorant and lame!!"
"I was leary of a site that I was unfamiliar with but pleasantly surprised at the wonderful service. Ordered on the fourth and had a confirmation of shipment on the fourth! "their price wasn't the cheapest (ordered a WD Raptor 36GB hard drive) i could find, but very competitive. however the little extra paid was well worth it;
1. they shipped via priority USPS, with tracking number
2. the OEM drive was probably packaged better than any other electronics/computer purchase i have EVER made - generously wrapped with two layers of large bubble wrap, and the box was completely filled with polystyrene "peanuts"."

Being a Newegg/Outpost/Tigerdirect junkie, I was afraid to deal with a company powered by Yahoo.
Despite the somewhat outdated appearance of the company website, Directron had everything Newegg didn't bother stocking at the lowest available retail price.
Customer service exceeded all expectations and was glad to see a UPS tracking number given to me in advance.
Would purchase again from Directron.

"Do not rely on Directron to follow your request regarding shipping instructions. In my instance they substituted UPS for FedEx and as a result the order which was time critical did not arrive the next day after the order shipped. "
