"Purchased a lamp for our Samsung television on March 16, 2015, shipped fast and we were able to successfully replace with no problems. On June 16, 2015 the lamp we purchased stopped working, I called the company this evening and spoke with Jonathan P., a wonderful customer service representative who not only listened to my "complaint and concern" but went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the product by sending a label for return of the lamp and replacing the lamp that was still under warranty! Jonathan also helped by letting me know that it is unusual for a lamp to burn out that quickly and perhaps there is something else wrong with the television; nonetheless, he was still happy to replace the product. When attempting to switch out my Sony XL-5200 Lamp Replacement, I damaged my housing. I called up Discount Merchant's customer service, was helped by Johnathan P., and told that they would take care of sending me a replacement housing for FREE!
We need more companies like Discount Merchant that put their customer first!"

"I was very happy when I purchased my bulb and gotten when I was supposed to. The problem come less than 2 months after ordering my bulb I have having issues with the bulb. That isn't the problem I know things happen. The problem comes when you call to get assistance and you have to send back the current one to them before they will send the replacement so that you are without a working tv for a week. If you are going to have a 90 warranty, you would think that it would be to make sure that you product works and the person isn't without what they pay for. I am going to send it back but I am also going to get another bulb elsewhere so I can watch my tv while they have my warrantied bulb. After talking to Discount Merchant Electronics yesterday I was told they were going to email (within the next 5-10 minutes) instructions to return my defective bulb. Here it is 24 hours later and yet no email with instructions, so my time without working equipment is even longer. I am so glad you worry about your customer satisfaction. I am ordering a replacement myself from discounttvlamps.com for the same price as here. Lets see which I receive first the new bulb I am ordering from another company or the instructions to send my defective bulb back for hopeful sometime replacement."
"Do not buy a TV lamp from these guys. I bought two of them for a projection TV and after trying the first one for a month...finally broke down and bought the real EPSON lamp and the TV worked 100% better. I tried to return the second lamp that I haven't even opened the box on and they wont take it back... I assume they get a lot of returns because their product is really bad. I guess you get what you pay for. "

"I am sorry I did not do my due diligence and check for reviews before I purchased a "new" Sony television light engine from Discount-Merchant. Discount-Merchant said if I sent it back they would replace it. I did (at my cost) and they sent another one that was the incorrect model number and also used. ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD AND ACTUALLY WORSE THAN THE FIRST. When I called back last week, to ask for my money back the "manager" refused. So not am I only out of pocket for the light engine (approx US$400.), but also the shipping, duty to the Cayman Islands and the cost of the technician to remove and replace twice..GO ELSEWHERE. I would hate for this to happen to anyone else."

I ordered some Phillips DLP TV lamps from Discount TV Lamps (Discount Merchant). The transaction was cleared as of December 14, 2011 and the item arrived on January 7th, 2012… 3.5 weeks??!! I called several times but unfortunately wasn’t able to get in touch with anyone and therefore had to leave a number of messages. When I finally got a hold of someone, they gave me excuses to why the processing time was delayed and why the package hasn’t been shipped. On another note: I provided an alternate credit card, requesting that it be charged to the new credit card provided and they still charged it on the original credit card. Before I order from here, I would think twice about purchasing from this company

"I canceled a order two hours after submitting,they shipped it regardless of my notification.I immediately returned ,at my expenses,and asked for a refund.They arbitrarily issued a store credit instead(minus "restocking" fees)In the past 8 months I tried unsuccessfully to get a refund,until I finally gave up and settled for a store credit on the purchase of a lamp that I don't actually need right now.I figured their last lamp only lasted about 7 months,it's probably time to get a new one.I bought this item only to retrieve my store credit.
