"Sellers subject to increased fees should file complaints with their local Attorney Generals office, and they should also send a complaint to the FTC.

In no way will the eBay metrics posted have any possibility of being correct and this is the basis for a massive criminal fee fraud that is upcoming against sellers."
"I highly suggest to use eBay as little as possible or not at all. Ebay grew so fast and so much, they feel entitled to treat customers as if the company is doing us a favor. When a company has over 72% negative ratings, it is not about disgruntled buyers. It is about its business model. The most annoying and insulting part of the processes is that the call center(s) in Philippines are staffed with completely untrained and/or incompetent people. They put customers in long holds for the simplest questions, turnoff the mics to chat and eat while customers wait on the line. If we never had to deal with call centers, positive ratings could potentially be higher. As a customer I can only vote with my pocket, I hope you do the same and do not do business with eBay."
"I have bought and sold on Ebay since 2007 (bought much more than sold). Recently, I purchased several high-ticket items that were damaged or not as described prior to arrival which had to be returned.
One of these items was a Dyson Hair Dryer that was sold as New with shrink-wrap from a 100% rating US seller with many ratings. When I opened it, it was clearly used, scuffed up on the handle and diffuser, inside the blower apparatus, and even had residual plastic shrink wrap melted onto the box from the original packaging. It had to be returned and the seller did not pick up the item for 4 days from the post office after the initial delivery failed because no authorized individual was present to sign for it. Ebay immediately refunded my account.
I had always read horror stories about bad experiences and was apprehensive about dealing with this return, but I was pleasantly surprised by Ebay's excellent and prompt customer service. "
"I have purchased a lot on Ebay over the last 10 years and have sold on Ebay occasionally over the same 10 years. It has become increasingly obvious to me over the last few years that Ebay has become abusive to both buyers and sellers. It's not the buyers or private sellers that create the negative environment on Ebay, it's Ebay itself that has become too difficult to work with.
I've been ripped off as a seller when Ebay has allowed buyers to use and damage what they purchase and then ask to return the item because they "changed their mind". Immediately Ebay reached into my bank account to refund the customer their money and I ended up with a used and damaged handbag that I had no choice but to toss.
As a buyer, I purchased from Wayfair and never received my item. I filed a claim and was offered a refund to settle the claim. I never received my refund in spite of my persistent follow-up. I realized that I had been defrauded by both Ebay and Wayfair who offered the refund to close the claim without the intent of sending me the money.
The community boards are worse. They attract the angry and mean-spirited who enjoy harassing other members of the community.
Amazon is a much better and more consumer-friendly environment. Their system is more streamlined for buying and when an item needs to be returned. "
"This year was the worst! Chinese sellers who, probably falsely, build up their selling numbers only to sell items they never intend to ship or ship to a dealer in the US and not to your address. What a travesty. The store closes up but I still can't make a claim until weeks later. How did eBay turn so rotten? You support the scammers and trash your long, LONG time customers. You might as well be iOffer. AliExpress is much better than you now and that is saying a lot. 2018 has been one for the record books. You deserve to go down."
"They don’t speak English just Indians from Punjabi getting pay 25 cents an hour by our abusive system... I have t receive an item for 2 months , seller deleted right away after I paid first day, the system told me I wasn’t qualified for a refund lol when I spoke with an Indian girl she said that she was going to send me to the dispute department but between Indians they just keep sending me to each other line to repeat myself. "
"An eBay seller since 2000, until this last one I had 374 continuous transactions all with 100% positive feedback. I have always obeyed the eBay rules. I have better communications in terms of depth and speed; ship and pack much better; and each transaction I sell has my customer getting at least three emails from me plus a ship date email with tracking number. Every time. I am a legend at description and have many many superlative comments in the all positive feedbacks.
A few week ago I sold my grandson's very expensive, almost brand new, and perfectly functioning game computer on an auction listing. When the buyer won it, he/it send a message in response to request to pay that he no longer wanted it. When I refused to cancel, he posted the only negative feedback I have ever gotten that I wouldn't let him walk. eBay's response to my complaint about the buyer was they would ask him to withdraw the feedback. He/it of course never responded. eBay won't withdraw the feedback. Horrible support for someone who has gone to lengths less than 1% of all the eBay sellers go to insure perfection. eBay is a computer run, techno-nerd money maker that has abandoned its original principles: do it right, do it fairly, feedback is the essence of the program."
"I have to let the world know that the biggest internet bully/ SCAMMER right now is eBay!!! It was the biggest mistake of my life! Long story short, I had TWO BUYERS SCAM me on my items! Not only did they get my items (that were not cheap) EBAY REFUNDED THEM THEIR MONEY WITHOUT ME GETTING MY ITEMS BACK!! How is this site still up and running??? Not to mention the items that were "LOST" in the mail?!? Ys, I said LOSt. DO NOT USE SMARTPOST to send your items on eBAY!! "
"Bought SAMSUNG S8+ looks brand new with screen protector works like a charm."
"I listed a USED item with ebay, a helmet. I listed photos of the item, and wrote in my description it was used with a few minor blemishes. Someone purchased my item and I shipped it out as instructed. Sending tracking information to the buyer via e-bay, again as instructed. 4 days after the item was delivered, the buyer sent me a message saying she wanted to return the item because it was defective. I couldn't understand what she meant because she stated you could "feel" the issue, and not see it. The photo she sent of the "damaged" area was clearly shown in my ad of the USED helmet. I escalated the issue with ebay, because I didn't feel it fair to accept the return. After much back and forth with ebay they ruled in favor of the buyer and FORCED me to accept her return. Now, after accepting my fate, I expected to receive tracking information from the buyer, as ebay stated she would send. I never received said tracking information. Today, Sunday, I receive an email notification from ebay stating they've gone ahead and debited my paypal account the amount for the buyer paid for the item... the first coorespondence received from ebay since they advised me they had ruled in favor of the buyer, 9 days earlier. I have no item.... I have no tracking number... I call ebay and they've advised me that it was sent to some address I had on file with e-bay... not the return address, which I admittedly did not enter (as i didn't believe it necessary when setting up my account since there is a button the seller click that says DOES NOT ACCEPT RETURNS). So no effort was made on anyones part to verify my address, here I sit on a Sunday, while ebay tells me to call USPS to attempt to re-deliver the package, to which I am having no luck because its Sunday and they're closed, and of course the automated system can't understand my name. I ask to be forwarded to a supervisor, who literally gives me the sam song and dance as the last guy... so I'm out $164 and have no item. To say ebay's seller customer service side is a joke is an understatement, If possible I would've given them negative stars. Don't bother selling anything used since the buyer can simply say the item is "defective" and return it weeks later. Ebay will not take into consideration the photos or narrative exchanged between buyer and seller, nor will they ask the seller for their side of the story. The buyer can simply click a button, use your item for weeks and then return it. "
"Beware- Avoid Stay away from Ebay.
Their mickey mouse policy is so ridicules that it was probably drafted by a bunch of kindergarten kids and much credit to kindergarten kids actually would have done much better if done by the kids.
If I was investing in E bay. I would be extremely careful as they are loosing more customers every day.
E bay burned me with a total of $3,400.82 because a buyer damaged the equipment and opened a case with E bay automatically refunded the buyer with out any questions...
I get my equipment back in pieces as it had been smashed .. Wake up E bay sellers... stop selling on E bay.."
"Ebay through PayPal had taken money from my account without my permission.they are supposed to use voucher but instead I was charged and denied sending voucher despite confirmation by email.they are crooks and will never use ebay again"
"When I am buying video games, I buy them on ebay because the prices are the best there. Never had any problems with it. The vendors are very friendly and helpful and you can review them. That's the feature I like the most and I wished other online shops would also implement."
"Ebay is quite reliable. I'm happy I've decided to order from there. Will definitely buy something in there again."
"Always get what I order and if I happen to order the wrong size it’s a breeze to send it back for the correct size "
