"Overall this web site is very user friendly. They had what I wanted @ the right price. I had a couple of questions and called customer servie and they gave me prompt service without any silly hold times like other companies do. They knew what they were talking about and I would definately come back for future orders. The Shipping was quick as well!"

"I purchased a phone from this vendor and did receive the unit as agreed to but it turned out the phone didn't have the features as advertised on egizmo's website. I called them to find out what the problem was and was given an RMA to return the phone. I was told that I would be charged a 15% restocking fee to return the phone despite the fact that the phone did not have the features as described. I found this unacceptable as the mistake was not mine and I had received the phone only 1 day prior! As an option I was told that the feature I was missing was in fact part of the phone but needed to be "configured" and was directed to a users forum to get help "configuring" this feature. I did just that and found out that the phone doesn't have the feature and never did. I called egizmo back and got the same woman who told me that once the box is opened there is a 15% restocking fee regardless of the problem. I asked if there was someone else I could speak with and she said no and told me to send an e-mail to customer support who would get back in touch with me within 1 day. I sent the e-mail but didn't hear back from them. Immediately after sending the e-mail I got on their website to carefully review their return policy. It indicated that I only had 5 days to get the phone back in their possession after issue of the RMA or the return would not be accepted! I was day 2 into this period so I was forced to send the phone back by 2 day UPS at added expense. I am now waiting to see if they are going to charge me a restocking fee.
As an aside, after doing some research I found out that egizmo is just an external storefront for an e-bay seller. I quit doing business on e-bay for this very reason 8 years ago. I suspect the reason a previous reviewer felt that they are a backroom operation is because they probably are. This would also explain the varied rating in customer service.
Bottom line, I think these guys are shady. If the extra $15 you save buy using these guys instead of a more reputable firm is worth the risk to you, then don't get upset if you end up getting burned. Be warned. My next stop is the Better Business Bureau.

"I called in to place the order specifying that I wanted it shipped to a different address from my billing address. A day later they canceled the order because the forgot to check off that the address was verified. I called back and replaced the order, this time upgrading the shipping to next day. Two days later the item has not shipped. After calling back again, they said that they were backordered. The phone rep said she was not responsible for calling the customer to let them know that the items are not in stock like the website claims. Every time I called in, the same lady picked up, almost as if she is the only one there. She didn't seem very proffessional and seemed as if she was bothered to be on the phone. Bottom line is, I canceled the order and will never deal with them again."

"THey're selling phone with chinese characters that I can't even understand. Chinese ringtones, instructions, etc.. It's not a good quality phone. Their prices might be low but It's not worth it. I'd rather pay $200 more for a good quality phone."

"When I was shopping for a phone, I spent alot of time not only looking for which phone to buy, but also where I wanted to buy it from. I came across eGizmo because of their prices. After doing a ton of research, I narrowed it down to two phones. I saw eGizmo had a phone number so I called and spoke to Steve. Steve was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful when answering my questions. I felt that I received honest answers from him. I felt that he was not trying to sell me something to make a quick buck, when I mentioned the phone I was interested in, he suggested another one that was $70 less but had the same features, I greatly appreciated that (I wound up purchasing the more expensive one, it looked cooler). I must have called him 3 times before I decided to make my purchase. I really liked the service he provided so I asked if he would match the price of another website which he did. In regards to delivery, it was lightning fast! The phone was delivered the next day! I would highly recommend eGizmo, they have fair prices and are great to deal with."

"After reading reviews of this merchant, I was hesitant to place an order. I reluctantly ordered a silver Motorola L7 and held my breath. The next day I received a confirmation call and an offer to purchase an additional warranty. I declined and prepared for the worst!
Four days later the phone arrived. What a pleasant surprise! The phone is new, and works perfectly. This purchase was one of the best online shopping experiences I've had in a long time! Nothing bad to say about this merchant. Would definitely order from them again!

"I live in Queens so precisly I could have picked up the cell phone I ordered. But they said they don't have a location for pick-up so that was fine, I paid the tax ($22) and they waved the shipping charge ($12) on 10/11. Since the sales person said they will ship it on the same day or next day, I figured out I would pay $10 extra and get it from them faster. I waited on Friday and Monday, the phone was still not shipped out. Called them on customer service, was given excuses like UPS guy didn't show up or the system is under going upgrade. When I called again on 10/15, Peter (the owner?) said it went out but didn't show up on the system until later that day. I suspected what he said and decided to cancel the order. Well, this is the funny part, he just said "ok, the order will be canceled." and hang up. I called back right away to get the cancelation confirmation number, he said there is no cancelation number - my invoice number will be the cancellation number. How odd is that? Besides, if the phone was really shipped out like what he said, wouldn't he remind me to reject the shipment? OBVIOUSLY, THE PHONE WAS NEVER SHIPPED OUT!!

WATCH OUT - DON'T BUY FROM THIS GUY!!

"Their website does not reflect their stock. I ordered a phone that was available at the time of placing an order(as per website). Since I was in rush I opted for 2nd day shipping at an extra cost. But I did not heard anything from them for a week or so . Than they informed that they do not have the phone in stock.
They have assured me that I would get back my money in 3days. And I got it back on third day.Customer support is friendly and they are very thorough in information providing. Prizes are quite competitive.

"I bought a Dolce and Gabbana Razr phone from eGizmo. It came as expected in 3 days. After the purchase, I dealt with a genetlemen named Steve who was very helpful to explain how to set everything up on the phone and told me patiently and in detail how to change settings. "What a rip off and scam! They said their phones were compatible with Sprint and Nextel. I ordered a Dolce & Gabbana, $389.00, and it wasn't, plus it was in a foreign language from the Phillipines! I sent it back and they would not credit my Amex. Very rude people work there."

"Unlocked Motorola cellphones sold are not for use in USA and Motorola will not warranty them, local repairs center can not repair them (diffenrent software and components) and Motorola charges $150 to exchange them with US unit. No where on website is this mentioned. This is a scram by eGizmo. Very few unit go bad so they have gotten away with this scram for a while now."

"Website does not reflect in-stock items! Ordered an unlocked razr V3i cell phone because the price was good and their website was clean and informative.

Within a day, I got a notice the "item had shipped" though the tracking number showed only that billing information had been received. Things stayed like that for 5 days until I called them and was told the item was on backorder. To their credit they were easy to get ahold of, and when I ultimately I cancelled the order, again, to their credit, they did it without any hassles.

In summary, this is a small business with a decent website. If they had the phone in, I'm sure my experience would have been different.
