"After looking over other reviews, it appears that I'm not the only one that has experienced issues with eToys. I bought a game on 8/14 from them that was advertised as in-stock with free shipping. eToys was the seller but the purchase was through buy_com.
Two days later I got a cancellation notice indicating the product was no longer available from the seller (eToys). I checked the eToys website and the same game was listed as in-stock at the same price but without free shipping (i.e., another $4.99 to get it). A number of other people on a forum I was following also bought the game and got their orders canceled.
It appears eToys canceled orders to avoid honoring the advertised price combined with free shipping. Bottom line, I won't purchase from eToys again and would not recommend them to anyone else.
Just look at the other reviews. They are not a reliable, trustworthy company with which to do business. Fortunately, they didn't get my credit card number.

However, 3 day later I get an email saying my order was cancelled and the item was out of stock. 2 days later the item is in stock and at full price. Called eToys and asked why my order was cancelled instead of put on backorder. They said to bad you have to buy it again at full price. What a joke. "This place is a scam site; buyers beware. I ordered a Playstation 3 Slim from them after seeing a Bing cash back referral for 25% off. Right when I finished my order, Bank of America detected a "compromised system with a third-party merchant" and had to change my account number--although the old card still works for another week to finish all transactions. Paypal couldn't continue with the payment, and eToys.com canceled my order. I could order from them again, but without the 25% Bing cash back. Stay away from this merchant like the plague."

I ordered some videogames from eToys.
Two days later, I receive an email that "per my request," they cancelled the order.
I wrote them back immediately to say I did not request a cancellation, and to please reinstate my order.
eToys then wrote back, claiming a "technical" glitch, and all orders were canceled per the terms of their website.
Then my neighbor, who told me of the games promotion, RECEIVED HER ORDER TODAY with all the games !!
I contacted eToys again, this time wasting 45 minutes of my life on hold, and let them know that orders were indeed being shipped, and to kindly look into reinstating mine. They told me that was not possible, and there was no way my neighbor got her order, even though my kids were playing with her kids with their new wii games THAT I SAW WITH MY OWN EYES !!
eToys is an incompetent outfit, and will surely follow the other incompentent companies into bankruptcy, dissolution, and oblivion.
They are unethical liars and deceitful as well.

I ordered a WII Fit from Parent Company's onnline subsidiary, eToys (1099 18th St., Denver, CO 80238) for $100.88 ($89.99 + $2.84 Sales Tax + $8.05 Shipping). The invoice (Order # 14618834) gave an "Estimated Delivery Date" of January 27 - February 4. After passing up several opportunities to buy this difficult-to find product elsewhere, I received an email from eToys on January 20 that not only informed me that my order was canceled, but also that my credit rating was in danger as a result of their cancellation: "You may want to contact your issuing credit card company or bank and address the specific reason for this cancellation. Also, to help prevent future order cancellations, you may wish to update the information on file with your credit card company to include a current phone number and any addresses to which you wish to ship orders."
In short, they did not deliver the product and they may have damaged either my credit card account or my credit rating through their unexplained cancellation."
"Wanted to order an item which stated it had "Free Standard Shipping", but the website persisted in charging me $9.35 shipping and did not honor the Free Shipping Promotion. I did not place the order, but tried to contact eToy.com Customer Service. Well, surprise - can only contact them by email, NO REAL PEOPLE. So I email, briefly explaining the difficulty, expecting them to fix the website or swomething along that line. But NO - "We regret to inform you that we are unable to honor your request as we can only honor promotions on existing orders" is their response. And they removed the "Free Standard Shipping" from the item I wanted! Now I believe I gave this company a good opportunity to get it right, but they went the other way. I would recommend that you never even consider giving them a chance. I did, and I got this unfortunate experience. Never again!"

"Absolutely terrible customer service. I ordered a Wii on Nov 16th and it was to ship November 26th. I have received several emails about delays with the order. One of these emails said I needed to respond within 24hrs to cancel the order, which I did. Then I received a reply that it could not be cancelled. This is the worst run around I have ever received and to top it all off now I'll probably have to return the item (and pay for the shipping to do so), because I highly doubt I'm going to get it before Christmas."
