Terrible

"I ordered over 10 books for my kid in 2nd grade. The package arrived fine but one book was missing. I called customer service, and because UPS confirmed the package was delivered, they don't want to reimburse me for that missing book.
Customer service was rude and not helpful. Will not order from them again.

Worse! (If there's a negative star, that would be the rating!)

"More often than not, they do not wrap the books in plastic which of course get soaked if it's raining. Then when I contacted customer service, I was even told to contact UPS to file a claim. Moreover, they would replace the book but, I have to return the 'damaged' book. The book arrived 17 days later (after I placed the order) and wet!!! Best customer service ever! Sarcasm intended! Instead of making it up for the inconvenience, they add more to the 'inconvenience'! "

Save yourself the grief and order your books from elsewhere

"They have been unable to process my order twice. I went through the same headache with them last semester. I placed my order and both times there was a message stating that they needed to speak with me prior to processing my order. The 2nd time I placed my order, I used a different credit card, just in case there was a billing problem (not likely).

Incompetent customer service. After the 2nd time of having my order canceled this time around, with no explanation, the customer service rep told me she would have to call another department and call me back. I told her to forget it; that I will be placing my order through Amazon. I told her I would never be using them again.

I just ordered everything through Amazon with no issues.

The worst

"They don't even deserve 1 star. I rented through them and picked the books up at my local bookstore. The bookstore closed leaving me with no information as how to return my books. I literally went to the store and the doors were shut. They reported me to a debt collector instead of getting in touch with me (they had all of my contact info) and now I am out 200 bucks. Very rude customer service when I have tried to call to work things out (multiple times) and return the books a different way. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE. "

Unable to use

"Terrible web service for the 3rd time/3rd class, I am still unable to purchase a text book using my university's bookstore site which then links you to EFollett. There really needs to be an overhaul of their website that won't allow you to submit your credit card payment. Contacted Customer Service and spoke to the friendliest, most resourceful and patient CSR I have ever met but after all of her help and an hour on the phone with my bank (on conference line) and still unable to complete purchase, RIDICULOUS is an understatement. Eventually went to Amazon.com and WALA!! 5 minutes later my textbook is on the way to be received in 2 days. Fix your broken, finicky website you are losing out TONS of $$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Satisfactory on-line buyback

"I have been selling some of my books over the last few years to Follett. They don't pay very much but my transactions have always been handled efficiently. I have always received payment by postal mail (I choose personal check) without delay and for the original quote amount. When I have contacted customer support by phone the representatives have always been nice, patient and willing to help (although sometimes they don't know if the buyback site is down or is having technical problems). My main complaint is that the buyback on-line site is often down or non-functional with no notice of it being so."

Do NOT use the textbook buyback system!

"I tried to sell two textbooks to efollet back in June 2018. They said they would be able to process my books within 2 days, and I would get money for my books within 2 weeks. That is a straight up lie! I didn’t hear back from them until the end of September 2018!! I called their customer service number multiple times over three months and they were very unhelpful. They said their system that they use to process books is so slow that it takes two to three months to process a textbook. In short, don’t waste your time or effort trying to sell your book to efollet."

Horrible and someone is using my information

"In the beginning, it wasn't that bad. But now after not being in school for a month and not buying anything I all of the sudden have a charge for $98 and $126 for some books that I have not bought. They charged it to my account without notifying me. Went on the website and they are not in my transaction history. Now I'm trying to delete my account so it cannot happen again but on the website, there is not an option to delete it and I will have to call my bookstore even though I am in a different state with a different time zone. I also have to cancel my card now which is another hassle and dispute the charges."

$8.75 Back for 4 Textbooks. Y'all just straight up ****.

"Absolutely Terrible. Buy a book for $150? Don't worry! You'll be losing that money at the end of the school year :-)


I hope no school uses efollett again. They are not in the business to buy your books back (non-rental). Just to hand them to you. My Pre-Calculus textbooks which were opened in class about ten times total (online book provided) were not accepted for buy-back.

Zero stars

"These textbook companies are a scam. 2-3 times more than anywhere else and work with schools to create ‘special’ editions so you HAVE to use them. I am an online student and this conpany gave me a return date for my book that was liteally the day of finals. The bookstore told me they had to receive it by wed to not try and charge me 200$. Funny the label was ground and it would take longer than that to get there "

They just get wrest day after day

"So we are waiting for our graduation gear the we bought online. It have been more than a month, which is not an issue EXCEPT the graduation ceremony in 8 days. Moreover, they close early and simply don't care. They just get wrest everyday. "
