"I was really excited to install the ZCI system harness on my 2019 Tesla Model 3 but unfortunately it did not work correctly even though it is supposed to work on that model car. I tested the vehicle's tail light wires as directed and what I found did not correspond to any of the configurations described in the instructions. I called eTrailer tech support and got put on endless hold and eventually had to hang up. I tried the 3-wire installation but the tail lights stayed on continuously. Contacted etrailer via email and they recommended trying the 2-wire installation. Did that, but the tail lights still stayed on continuously making the brake lights non-visible. Also, while the no-contact sensors are very cool, they do require routing a wire from the trunk all the way through the firewall to get power, which was very laborious. Maybe splicing isn't so bad?"
