"Honestly, if you shop at Gearbest you really need to know what you're getting into. The site is a window into the world of low-cost Chinese goods. Items are shipped through their warehouse in California. Unlike ordering direct from, say, AliExpress or Bangood, US customers are lulled into a sense of security by the promise of Customer Support for returns, exchanges, and refunds. Don't believe that. In my experience requesting a return on an item, whether the item arrived damaged in shipping, broken, malfunctioning, or you simply want to return something you ordered and had second thougths, you'll get nowhere with their Customer Service. Filing a customer support ticket requires you to provide photos of the item and packaging, and going through all that will get you an auto-generated reply, followed up a day or two later with another automated reply. In my experience, these automatic replies are a joke -- they don't issue an RMA (return merchandise authorization). You could send your unwanted/broken purchase back to their warehouse in California, but you're taking a huge risk on whether they'll even process the return. If you're really looking for inexpensive (in my case) tech gear, stick with US-based retailers -- Amazon is awash in inexpensive Chinese goods (lately, Chuwi is selling directly through Amazon) and rely on their return policies.
