"I purchased a small 160GB hard drive with the intent to use with a Linux machine for daily computing. The first hard drive arrived and failed a surface test. I retried with another HDD enclosure and separate program with similar results. I prepared screenshots of the tests and e-mailed the seller the following morning requesting an RMA for an exchange, which was granted within eight hours with no further interaction on my behalf. Not even Newegg's customer service was as user friendly. The next drive was received promptly and passed two surface tests, a write test, and the transfer of 100GB of random data. I have been using it for about three weeks without issue. I will not hesitate to use their services again."
"My new hard drive failed on me after only 6 months. Getting an email from them took more than 24 hours for them to respond. They wont answer the phones, and when they did they hung up on me. I have a lot of patience but when you treat your customer like 2nd priority its ridiculous. Yes there are some good reviews about them on them but majority are not good at all. Honestly I wouldn't recommend anyone doing business with them."
"I bought a 500gb hard drive thinking it was probaly never used but it was. After 3 months it had stopped working and I also bought a 2 year warrenty but when I emailed the company how to use the warrenty they sent me a email asking for the serialnumber so I tould them the serial number and they never responded. Then I said I was going to file a lawsuit when they responded saying I do not have a warrenty so I complied by suing the company for 3000 dollars."
"I have purchase 2 of the 6tb 5700 RPM drives from this company. They ship their products very fast and they come packaged very well IMHO. So far (fingers crossed) I have had no issues with either of these drives in my QNAP TVS-671 NAS. I cannot speak for any issues with the company itself as I have not had to deal with that. I purchased both of these drives thru eBay at a price that was well below the same drive listed on the goharddrive.com website and newegg.com ($50 LESS)
Needless to say, I do keep all my data backed up on a regular basis from my NAS. I think you should give this company a chance and decide for yourself. The $/GB is well worth it. Just be smart and ALWAYS backup your data on a regular basis"
"Their hard drives are OLD, built a decade ago, they do not work, when you contact the company the phone does not answer, they do not respond to email, their website fails. Buyer Beware . . . do not order from this company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Ordered (4) 2tb drives from them and only one was good. Sold as "refurbished returns" but were 5 years old. Static envelopes were torn opened on two of them like they were already returned. Has taken forever to get refund. Had to get it through paypal. And they argued it the whole time. Now they blocked me as a buyer, LOL, like I would ever buy from them again. "
"BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK FROM GoHardDrive - I installed 3 4tb hard drives only to find one work for 3 mos. and the other two are clicking and making buzzing noises!!! I tried to call them for several weeks and there was never an answer.
I went online and filled out a RMA for the hard drives. I have yet to be contacted and it has been 2 months. I am out over 375 bucks on these jokers. I have a good mind to call the police to stop by and see about the operation they are running!"
"I currently own 7 drives from this seller with only one issue over the past 5 years . When notified of the problem even after my saying it was unnecessary they gave m a partial refund . the issue was not the drives functionality but a small mis print in the description .
My first white label drive in an always on home server is still going after 5 years . My most recent purchase of a 2 tb drive was extremely happy with the drive and the quick turn around from time ordered to time in hand .
And no they did not request my review just happened to see this site doing a google search .
Will plan on making all my drive purchases with them as long as the prices remain competitive ."
"Dead hard drive. This hard drive was sold as new and was not. Look at all the other bad reviews on here. Their "return policy" is a joke. From their site: "First, try contacting the manufacturer tech support before return the product to us. Manufacturer might has fastest return exchange service and policy. " Then they want you to pay return shipping, 15% restocking fee and "double box" the item. It is clear that they will then just sell the same crap to another customer.
It is likely that goharddrive.com's business model is to sell questionable hard drives as new and let you waste your time doing an RMA to the manufacturer. I am not even going to mess around with these fraudsters. Thank god for AMEX blue chargebacks."
"Purchased a couple adapter boards via Ebay. Delayed trying them and found them incompatible with mother board 7 weeks later. Not worth paying to ship back.
GoHardDrive surprised me by not only refund my money rapidly, but told me not to ship them back. They acknowledged a compatibility issue with certain mother boards.
I give GoHardDrive an AAAAA++++++ for customer satisfaction.
This is a voluntary review and GoHardDrive has no knowledge of my posting it. "
"Ordered hdd, received quickly, very well packed but it didn't work just beeped studly. Asked for RMA. they sent me a prepaid label for return. Hey it happens. Installed the replacement & reunning great. "
"About 3 weeks ago I ordered 3 Hitachi Ultrastar 7K3000 3 TB hard drives to upgrade my Thecus N3200pro. I had researched this drive and it was recommended for my divice. I had found the product on newegg.com and saw that it was delivered by goHardDrive. When I read the reviews on this site, I was a bit concerned, but the reviews on newegg seemed strong enough that I ordered it from them. The drives were delivered a week later, free shipping, on the date promised. They were packed well so they wouldn't be damaged in transit. I opened them, installed them in my Thecus, configured it as a RAID 5, and transferred all of the backed up files that I wanted on this mass storage device - all without a hitch.
Excellent product
Excellent delivery from packaging to my home"
"DON'T BUY FROM THIS SCUMBAG! I knew when I received the hard drive in an envelope it was going to be a bad experience. Same old bait and switch tactics. The hard drives are USED NOT NEW! If you think you are buying a brand new shiny drive think again! The drives are USED! It had scratches all over, the screws look like they were removed and the label was lifted, and manufacture date was 3 years ago! This guy thinks since he has a bag sealer he can pass off a used drive as new. TRUST ME, I work in IT. I know a horrible seller when I see one. He has been reported to the FTC and BBB!"
"Disaster,
Purchased 2 out 2 defective hard drives 4TB white label. No phone contact. Chat is dead. Sent email requesting return label. "
"Great experience! Got a new Seagate 160 GB drive for one of my dinosaur single core Dells for $22 and California tax, free shipping. Works perfect. The cheapest heart transplant this old CPU could get! And, loaded PCLinuxOS on it so it's fully functional. NO computer upgrade needed as with Windows 7 or 8 to replace XP! Much faster on my cheap satellite Net since no endless slow updates like XP. Now is the time to go Linux IMO. Plenty of apps available free.
Update: just got a second Seagate same price for my second old Dell. In a factory sealed antistatic pouch. Well packed, arrived in days. I expect only good things from this vendor. No doubt they do volume and at the price, i"m very impressed. What do you want at these prices, butt kissing velvet glove customer service by phone? I don't think so!
Remember Paypal gives you all the return/refund privileges you need. No worries. "
