"DO NOT ORDER from this company!!! I wish so badly that I had read the reviews BEFORE I ordered a small container of BBQ rub in a cute little beer mug. Looked good, price - 4.99. Nice stocking stuffer, right? These crooks charged my card over $25.00 for this mug! Then weeks later, I get a box of useless crap that I DID NOT agree to buy. When I called the company and said "there had to have been a mistake!", I was told that I didn't read the fine print. SERIOUSLY?! Apparently, the fine print says you WILL receive (and continue receiving!) boxes of UNORDERED useless crap forever! $85.00!!! I disputed the charge, had it credited back to my card, only to find three weeks later that it had been RECHARGED! THREE TIMES!!! Plus a new charge for 55.00 that I haven't even gotten a package for! Had to cancel my card to stop it! But I am going to obtain legal advice to see if there is anything I can do to get my money back. This company has taught me a valuable lesson. Trust no company except Amazon! "
"Do not place any order with them. They are a complete ripoff. They will send you product - charge you and then continue charging you per hidden notes. They made a deal with my husband to only charge $32.00 more and leave us alone and charged us $132.95 instead. Do not buy from this scam. We are reporting them to every site and BBB we can."
"shopgourmetcooking.com is a total scam! If you do not read the fine print you will discover that what you think is a good price is actually a nasty trick to get you hooked into expensive shipping charges and a monthly club fee.
When I figuredout what was going on I did not complete the order but quit the website and immediately called their customer service line to cancel the entire order. Thinking the problem had been resolved I did not keep an eye out for bogus charges on my credit card, to about three months go by and I notice that I have a charge for $168, $132 and a $32 shipping feethat I had not expected. The credit card company could not help me since over 30 days had gone by, the only solution was to cancel the credit card and get a new one.
Today (Sept 10) I get an email complaining that the latest charge has been declined. When I talk to a supervisor they tell me they tell me they cannot sent me the return info my email. I tell them well that is to bad, since if I don't get it by email I am not going to be resposible for a bad set of instructions. Then they begin to tell me that they have only received aprox $332 of a $740 order and that I owe the outstanding amount whereby I tell them the order had been cancelled within minutes of the original start time. They say I did not cancel soon enough, I told them bull!!!! Luckily I live in Canada, and I would love to see them in court so they can either send me electronic return instructions or live with the fact that I will not give them a penny more than I have.
This outfit is bad news from the word go, do not so much as think of buying from them you can get a better deal at your local store and at least get some honesty and support your local employers at the same time. This outfit gives every company on the Internet a bad name! "
"They are a ripoff. You buy a book from them they tell you you can buy other items at very low prices. But they make sure it is easy to order them without reading the fine print (if there was any). After you order these cheap things then they carge your card for 2 more payments for things that were not worth what they charged. "
"I have been charged $63.33 for 4 items which cost a total of $19.96! I paid an initial amount of $5.37 in May 2014 , which I thought was a promotional, however, they have proceeded to charge me $19.37 in June and July. When I contacted their customer service, they would only offer me a credit of
$5.00 toward the last payment of $19.37 in August. I would never agree to such a purchase, and they seem to deliberately confuse the terms on their website. This is a TOTAL SCAM!"
"Well, I have now learned to check reviews on companies before ordering anything on line. Should just stick with AMAZON. Web page of ;Gourment On Line; is deceptively unclear. You think you are paying 3.99 and 99 cents for items which Gourment is really going to bill you $125 for and you are signing up for on line cooking classes for 9.99 a month billed to credit card you used. 03/06-billed 4.94
04/05 billed 39.99:05/04-9.95;05/05 -39.99;05/11- 9.95 and after talking to cusomer service,I still owe 39.99 .
Well, I got a very nice phone call from customer service 05/22. Pleasant and professional and understood that web page may not be clear. However, I am pass 60 day return policy, but they are going to credit last payment of 39.99 , which makes items priced right after checking others on line. Great Citi Bank gave me two 9.99 credits to account at their expense. Gourmet On Line really needs to make trail offers clear. Will update if credit does not show.

"I recently purchased some mini-herb pots. The pricing at the order point was deceptively unclear. It turns out six mini-pots (1.5-2" each) ended up costing over $60 because they tried charging my account $10 every month. Due to the money-back guarantee, I tried to return and get a refund when I realized what was going on, but they refused to reverse the credit card charges - only said they would issue a store credit! Why on earth would I want a store credit when I do not desire to do business with a company who has such disreputable business practices as this?"
"When I signed up for Gourmet Cooking Online, I ordered a couple of recipe books. I never did get a receipt either online or mailed to me. The original price I saw on their site was $9.95 but I was charged over $100 for books I wouldn't even be able to use they were so poorly put together. The charges come first as a small one, then S&H then 2 more payments totaling over $100 for 3 paperbacks that are the worst I've ever seen. It seems they gave me the wrong address to to ship them back as UPS can't find them. I'd never buy anything from these folks again and would like to find out what other sites they run. Don't even go here folks, this is the worst of the worst when it comes to online or any other retailers. Scam is the only appropriate word for what they do."
"I recently purchased The Original Old West Cookbook : A Collection of Recipes in the Chuckwagon, Pioneer, and Southwest Traditions in a special offer from this outfit. In order to order the book I had to go through a maybe 10 step process of declining other products before getting to checkout. I declined everything but still received the book plus other undesired and unordered merchandise (which I was charged for), which I shipped back at my own expense. My advice is to be very careful when ordering from these people or just plain stay away from them totally."
