"I had a Seiko Astron watch to sell. Govberg advertises that they buy watches at top value. I filled out the form to get a quote. A few days later I received a reply by email and phone. I explained the watch was in excellent shape and had all papers including warranty card. They asked me to send them photos of the watch. I did as they asked and awaited their reply.

They contacted me the next day. Now I realize they would have to resell the watch and make a profit so I wasn't expecting as much as I thought I could sell it for myself. To me, it was worth a little less money to avoid that hassle. But, they offered me only $400. The watch's list price is $2100 so I was expecting a bit more than that. I turned down their offer.

About a week later, I found an online listing for a similar watch, same make and model for $1350 from Govberg!! They were offering me $400 for something they would sell at $1350. Again, I understand they have to make a profit but an almost 350%?

After seeing their listing, I was able to sell mine independently for $900. They would have done better to tell me they were just not interested in the watch rather than make me an offer as they did. "
