"This is a quality batter replacement kit. I have a lot of misc tools from 20+ years ago when I repaired PCs for a living, but it was very nice to have the new tool kit so that I didn't have to hunt for a specific bit. The only thing that would've been appreciated would've been a link or QR code to take me to the replacement instructions. It's fairly straightforward, but I missed a key step in temporarily unplugging the CMOS battery after the main lithium ion battery was replaced. My laptop would not boot until I did this. Once that was done, it worked like a champ. Money well spent to avoid completely replacing an otherwise useful laptop. Thank you!"

"Somehow I managed to fry my Macbook Pro 13" (late 2013) by plugging in a powered USB hub. The Apple store informed me that parts may be difficult to come by now that it is considered "vintage". The battery was swollen and would certainly need to be replaced, but even after disconnecting the battery it still wouldn't power up which meant the logic board was probably toast as well. The price quoted by them and another repair shop was astronomical so I decided that I would attempt the repair myself with the help of iFixit.

I ordered a new battery kit from iFixit and a used logic board off eBay. iFixit had the battery kit on my doorstep 3 business days after placing the order.

Utilizing the battery and logic board repair guides from iFixit, I managed to swap both out in about two hours while being ultra-careful around the damaged battery as cautioned by the guide. I was quite anxious when I pressed that power button after the repair, but thanks to iFixit's wonderful guidance (and the replacement parts) it booted successfully!

I'm fairly tech savvy but certainly not confident enough to attempt this repair myself without iFixit's guides; they were so clear and concise. Plus, all the tools that I needed were included in the battery kit. I was able to deftly perform the repair with panache!

Thanks iFixit. You allowed me to save a bunch of money and resurrect a pristine laptop that was otherwise destined for retirement to e-waste."

"Was fairly easy to do by following the instructions. My only was using the suction device to remove the screen. This was by far the most time consuming step for me, even with the help of a hair dryer. Was smooth after that though! Everything works great!!"
