"I went to the sight to signup based on the september INTERNET RETAILER magazine ad 49.95 a month no set up fee. I started a chat with Blake Van Gilder he said the ad had expired I restated it was this month he told me "I just looked at the ad with our marketing team and I did not see anything about No Setup Fee" so you are a liar really? I have the ad here I can send a copy. Now he says "They must have printed the wrong add because we just looked at that ad and it says nothing about the setup fee " and "our prices are subject to change at anytime" even though the ad does not say that most legitimate companies would honor thier own ad"

"I signed-up for Infofree.com's $1.00 Trial Offer via the internet.

After completing the required Trial Offer enrollment information, I immediately received an email invoice from Infofree.com for $25.95, which had been billed to my VISA card.

I immediately felt as though Infofree.com's offer was a scam, and lost my believability in the company's honesty, integrity and credibility, not to mention their $1.00 Trial Offer.

Shortly thereafter, I received a phone call from someone at Infofree.com. He stated they were having a billing problem with the Free Trial Offer and I should not have been charged the $25.95 amount. He sounded very unprofessional and unpolished, which created even greater doubt and skepticism in my mind about this company, and raised even greater suspicion within me that this was another scam.

I told him I want to receive something from Infofree.com stating that the charge would be credited back to my card. I then phoned my credit card company, explained the situation to them and instructed them not to post any pending charge from this company to my credit card.

Very disappointing but not surprising. Watch out when doing business with an internet company!!

"Customer service and price were good. But, I was unable to create a precise targeted list. Search options are too restrictive and search results are too inclusive. The limits on numbers of locations and sic codes that may be entered are too restrictive. List results included all of a company's SIC codes, all location types and franchises. I needed companies based only by primary SIC code and location type of single location. Consequently, only 70% of the data was usable for my purposes. The accuracy of the other data was a little worse than average: about 18-20% bad phone numbers, etc.. Bottom line, I could only use about 50-60% of the data. "

"The service seems like a good one. I called ahead of time to ask about not going on a month to month basis. I wanted to stop the billing until I needed the service again because I cold call each item in the list I get. (The list I ended up with was 189 cold contacts. Not bad for the roughly 75.00 I was charged)

However. When the time came to cancel I noticed they would charge me a setup fee again for what I call re-starting my account. Now the "set up" is what they call adding you to the system. I am a computer programmer and can tell you it takes less than a second to set you up. It is a bogus charge they tack on.

However at the beginning of this story I mentioned that I called ahead of time to find out if I could do what I wanted. The "friendly" service person "Michael" never mentioned that I would have to pay the setup fee again.

I cancelled the service yesterday. I logged in again to see my account number for this review. I was denied access to the system. Now I paid for 30 days. AN honest business person would have honored the 30 days. But they did not. They even claim a 30 day trial period which my experience could be perceived as.

I rating this business a 2 because it feels like a rip off.

"I was mostly impressed the the quickness of customer service. I had just signed up for your services, and I was opening up the main page menu when someone from your company called me asking if I needed help/had questions. I had not been a "customer" 5 minutes!

Secondly, I love the mapping feature to see my list, but zero in on the lead and where they fit in the zipcode off of a map view.

"Originally called to reverse a charge that resulted from a billing mistake from a previous contract. The CSR agreed to honor a discounted rate with no set up fees, so I decided to continue the program. After seeing a number of enhancements, I decided to cancel my agreement with a competitive service and use Infofree.
Happy so far...and am enjoying significant savings!

"The amount of wrong numbers, disconected numbers, and fax machine numbers if horrible. The bad number rate is about 40%. Selected businesses that are up to 5 years old and get companies in business for 20+ years. "
