I am a 72 year old grandmother and my older jewelry still looks like it did the day that I purchased it. "simply needed a watch battery replaced. Told no problem paid my $20 and they went to do. After a while no one was capable of getting the back put on. Now they had to “send out”. That was not the issue. What happened next was. Went past the promise date when I called all I got was that “they are working on it” or do not know everyone at repair center has the flu - ? Everyone??? Then blamed UPS - we are just putting a back on a watch people. Thought you guys were jewelers. Once finally done after follow up and follow up when I finally went to get could not have had more rude service. Honestly don’t think they care Lesson learned. Never again them for anything. "
"I am going to have to give community credit for Kay jewelers a one star I would give them less if I could. They are a very unprofessional creditor. I have numerous credit cards in my wallet from target to Walmart and every one of them have sent me a letter letting me know that my card has been in active too long and that I need to use it or they will close the account.Due to the fact that I only use my credit cards for larger purchases. Well Community Credit for Kay jewelers doesn't do that they just think that it is OK to close your card without informing you whatsoever. How unprofessional of a company or a bank to let a cardholder go in and try to purchase a product and be denied when you are in good standing. I mean how embarrassing to the cardholder to be denied in front of your family and other people in the store. Especially if it's due to inactivity and not late payments or something negative. I believe they have lost a great customer that would have purchased many things in the future but since they are unwilling to reopen my account without running my credit again they have lost me as a customer. My family is in the process of refinancing our home and a hard pull on my credit for Kay Jewelers would be damaging to our refinancing.I will no longer buy anything from Kay jewelers I will not recommend Kay jewelers to anybody and in fact I will tell people to stay away from getting any type of credit through that company."
"Was told my order would definitely be received by Christmas Eve so I wanted to save myself the trouble of going into a store by ordering online. When it never arrived, I called them and waited on hold for 45 minutes only to be told "they probably had not updated the shipping information but they were sure it was on it's way". It never came, so I waited on hold for customer service for another 45 minutes to open an investigation. Then I got an email the day after Christmas saying there was a shipping delay. A week later I get a call saying "Kay ran out of inventory and your order will be canceled". Only compensation they offered was 10% off next order, but I do not ever want to order from them again, so no thanks. Worst business model. How do you not know you are running out of inventory and why would it take so long for me to be notified? "
"Placed online order on December 14. Website specifically said orders placed by December 15 would arrive before Christmas - UPS 2nd day at no charge. On December 21, a Saturday, my account still listed the order as pending. I initiated a chat with Kay Customer Service and was told gift would arrive December 24. It didn’t. Another chat with nothing more than first a statement that it had shipped. At that point Kay knew it would be late. Pressed the Rep said it would arrive December 26 and offered a sincere apology. Kay did ship on December 23 next day air super saver but a missed connection delayed delivery. At that point I could have given Kay a partial pass but the only offer of compensation was very reluctantly offered in the final chat and couldn’t be affected (whatever it was to be) until the gift arrived on December 26. On the 26st I got a mass email apologizing to everyone who didn’t get their gift on time but requiring a phone call to Kay if further discussion was necessary. Kay, in the future give customers a realistic time frame and if you miss it volunteer to make some type of correction/compensation. Don’t make your customers drag it out of you. I won’t be one of them, of course. I suspect others who had their Christmas negatively affected by your delayed shipping commitment feel the same."
"Unbelievable that we can’t count on Kay Jewelers! A Christmas gift is ruined!! The necklace never shipped out and they couldn’t give me an answer as to why. The were in the midst of investigating why. What reputable place does this!? How could you be so irresponsible and callous?! "Pretty bad experience overall. Order a necklace on 12/16 and stated free NDA shipping in time for Christmas. Received a confirmation email stating I would not be charged until the order ships. My credit card was charged immediately and as of the 23rd, still no word. When I check order status it says it's not available. So I call and after holding for more than 45 minutes, I was told that they didn't know why it hadn't shipped nor when it would ship. So I told her to cancel the order and I went to another vendor and ordered something different. After all that, I just received a confirmation email that the order has shipped and will be here tomorrow. REALLY???

"Had a ring ordered at kays themselves. They ordered it Over the phone no less. Paid of course. Was told when it would be in. I even went a few days after the date they said. Well they couldn't fill the order. After they told us what sizes they had left. They even had my email wrong. So I knew nothing was wrong. I got a refund. Oh great. What about my Christmas plans. It wasn't the store I went to. They where very helpful. Sales rep on the phone's fault. Unbelievable. Happy Holidays. I'll get the sorry for the mix up or bad experience. haha. "
"I ordered for the first time, bought two rings. It stated I would not be charged until my order ships. Low and behold, I was in fact charged and then the email confirmation is stating is will take 7 business days to process order! I contacted Kay.com via chat twice, they were unable to assist and they are telling me it is a special order and that is why I was already charged. I asked how would I know this at the time of order and they stated that I would not know, some orders are just a special order. Mind you, I did not have anything special done to these rings. I have had it. I will contact my bank and dispute as I have not received anything yet. I will go to any other jewelry store, never a Kay store again!"
"5 years ago I bought my wife a new wedding set from Kay jewelers, i had the engagement ring sent out and fitted with bigger stones and mounted to the wedding bands by Kay, i purchased the extended warranty and brought the rings into Kay every 6 months for inspection as required. Now the engagement ring has fallen off of the wedding bands because it broke at the weld points and Kay is saying sorry but you'll have to buy another one. Their right but I won't buy it from Kay.
On 2 other occasions that the ring needed repairs they always had a reason why I would have to pay."

They didn't have my size(a size 4) which is normal for any store, however they said not to worry they could order a 5, send it back out to a local jeweler and have this gorgeous size 4 ring on my finger in 2 weeks. I called the Kay Jeweler card company only to find out saleswoman LIED!!! There is a "NO free no interest"
promo running and the credit card company is NOT liable for what the sales people say to sell you anything! So I tell the guy at the CC company I want to pay it off right now! OK he sez but it will cost you to pay the balance off!!!

The diamond is beautiful but the sales pitch and Kay Jeweler CC is a scam and fraud.
