Non-existent Customer service

"Received the wrong item (flashlight). Lightmalls.com requests a video of the light and a photo of the sales slip (which was not included!) to prove that I am bonafide. "send it back, once it is posted we will send you the correct item". But I had already waited for weeks for this lamp to arrive.
I looked into it anyway, double checked if he really wanted to pay >$12 for the shipping (lamp was $19). Yes, he did.
WhenI found out that I was not allowed to ship Lithium batteries by post, Lightmalls offered a $2 voucher "for the next purchase"(as if!), and when I complained, a $5 refund. He clearly did not understand that it was he who had to correct the mistake. I said it was unacceptable, he stopped the email converstaion. Never again. I'd give 0 starts if I could.

Horrendous

"I ordered an item back in March which failed to turn up, they said they’d send another which failed to turn up so I opened a case with PayPal, had to wait a further 20 days but was offered coupons from the company! Second item has apparently been with my local courier for 22 days which is rubbish as the depot is only 15 minutes from my house and I use them regularly. Awful company, won’t use again or recommend "

Australian site charged US price

"Ordered a product from them. 67AUD from their ".au" website. Got charged 55USD. This converts to 75AUD.
So if you buy something from their Australian website, they will charge you the amount and currency listed on their American website instead.
Argued with this over email, they kept saying they charged me the price stated on their website even though I said price and currency is different on Australian website. After a few exchanges and them still not getting it I opened dispute with PayPal to ask who was right. Got paid back the difference 1-2 days later.

I guess they got bad business skills.

Product shipping is fair though coming from China, and product is good as long as you do prior research.

Flashlight failure and guarantee problems

"After 20 months of sporadic use of a xtar D06 1600 flashlight it got a structure failure and flooded. It had a 24 months guarantee period but lightmalls and xtar does not want to replace it."

SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!

"STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!
MISLEADING ADVERTISING, ARROGANT AND RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
ALL OVER $5 WORTH OF BATTERIES!!!

I ordered 2 Boruit headlamps from lightmalls.ca on 1/5/21

With a website that ends with ".ca" one would think it was a Canadian site, not so.
Only after ordering was it revealed they were being shipped from Shenzhen, Guangdong province China
That, was misdirection #1
Package finally arrived 1 month later on 2/5/21

Both packages had crushed corners, so i carefully opened and discovered no damage to product
However, this is where the trouble started

1 of the headlamps arrived without batteries, so i rechecked the ad. It stated "2*18650 battery". According to their customer service, this means it TAKES 2*18650 batteries and those DO NOT come with the purchase.BTW these are 3.7v rechargeable batteries... Not something readily available in Canada
When questioned regarding their "misleading" advertising their customer service rep claimed i threatened them ( which i did not, i stated that my reviews of their business would reflect the transaction appropriately), they had " dealt with people like you" before and did not "accept" my threats
Several emails later it was agreed they would send me 2 batteries, however, it was Chinese New Year and all shipping was closed and they would address this when they came back
They " addressed" it all right

The ads now state "Does not include batteries" which was not stated at the time of the transaction
I have been told i can order new batteries from their store OR they would ship me batteries with my next order

A wise old man once said to me " water...is at once, the most yeilding of elements...yet the mightiest of eroding forces"
By selling us cheap and inferior products, refusing to stand behind their misleading business practises ( BTW, Paypal has no recourse for Chinese products)... We are slowly having our Canadian standards of business eroded away

Do a quick search for "lightmalls.ca reviews" and see for yourself.

BUY NORTH AMERICAN!!

Bad customer service - should have read the other reviews

"I received a broken product. Support is given by e-mail one-liners without a name or contact person. Of course denying that the product is not working properly and saying it's my fault. I've then sent them a video of the product clearly showing that it's not working and that it is used under normal conditions. Again denial that the product is broken. Typical chinese seller strategy. That's why no one trusts chinese products. Waste of time, zero stars, never buying again. "

Worried initially but perfect service and fast shipping. Recommend!

"To be honest I was a little worried before I made my order, given there are also very negative reviews of Lightmalls. I have decided to email them with some question to test the response. The response was lightning fast, withing 2-3 minutes. I have then asked another follow-up question via email, again response within minutes.
So I have decided to order (SolarStorm X2 bike light). I have placed order on 29/10/2019 and received the order 08/11/2019! Brilliant fast service. The item is as described works perfectly.
I didnt have any issue at all, communication was excellent, shipping extremely fast, tracking number was provided and worked without a problem. Item arrived in great condition.
I have to give 5* and will be definitely ordering again soon.
