Why can't I give ZERO stars? WORST experience I've ever had ordering online.

"I placed an order on 4/28/20 for 2 watches from Lord and Taylor. The expected arrival date was 5/6/2020. After inquiring with customer service as to the delay on shipping, I was told the item would ship "directly from the vendor" and I would be receiving an email confirmation with shipping info. No such email ever came. After inquiring again, I was told it could take up to 14 business days since the item was coming from a "3rd party vendor". I asked the representative to contact the vendor and ask about the order status, which they agreed to do. Several days passed and I never received an update. I contacted Lord and Taylor again to ask what the vendor said about the delay. They said they would try contacting them again. I let another week pass before contacting them again to ask about the status, and was told that the vendor "wasn't responding", but that the order also couldn't be cancelled. After multiple back and forth emails with scripted responses stating that "management" is looking into the issue, still nothing has been resolved. I am told that the vendor is not responding, they cannot tell me who the vendor is, there is no way to contact the vendor except through email, but they also can't refund my purchase. I demand to get a refund since they are unable to fulfill the order and ship the item as promised. Customer service for Lord and Taylor has horrible communication skills, and has been stringing me along for weeks. They offered a $50 gift card as compensation for the trouble, but I have no desire to purchase anything from them again given the awful experience I've had and doubt that remains about ANY orders being fulfilled. Calls go unanswered and eventually I'm hung up on after over an hour of being on hold. How are they still in business?"

"I placed several orders for watches during their end of year sale and each one looked like they were packed by monkeys. Not only that, the watches were all damaged in some way or another with either handling marks or damaged during shipping. I'm surprised they're still in business the way they operate. Save yourself the headache and stick to Macy's. Every one star review is true and you're rolling dice if you order from LT. Avoid!

Edit: Took 2 months but a price adjustment was issued.

Terrible cust service

"On dec 15th I ordered a Michael Kors watch for a family members birthday. A confirmation # was given and my card was charged. 3 days later I get an email saying the order was canceled as the watch isnt available. How in the hell is that possible?? L&T reputation now is ****. "

No Longer Sad Flagship Store Closed

"I recently placed two orders with lord&taylor.com. Within several days, I received emails that both orders were cancelled! Are they serious??? If you don't have the products or not enough, then don't push them via emails and online advertising! I can certainly understand now the problems L&T has been having and sadly they are well deserved! I hadn't ordered in years, thought I'd give it another try only to have TWO of TWO orders cancelled. Thanks but no thanks -- back to more reliable companies that also offer better customer service! "

Sold Defective Product but would NOT issue Credit

"Sold me a defective dress and then when I returned it unworn with tags attached L+T would NOT issue me a credit and said it was in unsaleable condition. WORST customer service on the planet. They do not care about their customers at all. Selling flawed merchandise and then blaming the customer is bad business. "

"I bought online a Polo Ralph Lauren suede sneakers, was showing 11 Pairs available, 4 days after, I got an email saying the sneakers it’s out of stock, so I picked another sneakers from Lucky Brand and made my purchase, believe me, 5 days after they send me an email saying “Out of Stock” I wasted my time online for nothing ! Please, update all the itens that’s no longer available "

Bad Online Experience

"I ordered a jacket and was sent an email that it would arrive Friday. Friday came and went, and after contacting Customer Service, I was informed that they cancelled my order because the coat was out of stock when I ordered it. No emails, no calls, no updates. The icing on the cake is that they will not refund my money for THREE WEEKS even though THEY made the mistake! It took less than a second to take my money but they can't give it back for many weeks. Customer Service responds with the usual, non-helpful replies and meaningless apologies. My advice is to try the many competitors with the same stuff as L&T, like Nordstrom, Nieman Marcus, Saks or Bloomingdales."

Rude employees. I will never use Lord and Taylor or Capital one

"I was there on Dec 30, 2018. Employees are rude and not helpful. She wouldn't tell me where I would find suit for young kids. Cashier was nice however. I was told that I would get 15% off and $10 off the bill if I apply for the store credit card. She told me that you can pay the bill with other credit card. After writing info on paper then on computer, she told me if paid by other credit card. After that She told me that you wouldn't get 15% or $10 off. She gave info how to pay on line. I called several times because I was not able to access account with the no that was given to me. After trying several times, I was disconnected by their operator Gregory immediately after being on line for 15 min, I called again , Gregory connected me to invalid extension. Another 5-10 min on the line, Tammy answered and stated she lost her ability to connect me to a manager or to customer service. After that I was able to connect with capital one. Another bad customer services. after being disconnected couple of times I talked to Candice, a manager, who stated that they can't email, text, or give access to the account. They don't use 2 steps confirmation for stores credit cards, but use it for their cards. After of one week of calling, Capital one didn't send me the card, neither would allow me to access my online account. Then I asked her about mailing address, she told me I could pay by phone either by debit card which I don't have or by giving my bank info which I refused to give. They don't accept pay pal either. She eventually gave address to send payment to, but recommended to wait till I get the card. She said that bill has to be paid before Feb 5th or penalty and interest will be charged. After spending 3-4 hours on the line, No results. I am wondering why they are not interested to get their money immediately. Is it that they want some people to default so they pay interest and penalty ?.. I think probably it is. I will never do business with Lord and Taylor or Capital one. "

"I had a horrible experience with them. i placed an order online and few hours later someone called to tell me that they are contacting me from Lord & Taylor to verify my information. I told them that I have no problem contacting Lord and Taylor customer service to provide my information again, but I don’t like giving my info over the phone to somone who claims to be from Lord&Taylor. I called their customer service immediately, just to be told that my order was cancelled with no explanation. They kept telling me to call my bank. There was no problem with my credit card, the problem was the incompetence on the part of Lord and Taylor. Their customer service in Phillipines ****."

Was once a high end retailer, now its all Trash with trashy customer service

"Scammed me on returns, I returned 10 items and they would only credit me for 8, they insisted that only 8 were returned. LIES!! SO ANNOYED, never shopping here again, the clothing was the same quality as Party City Halloween costumes.
WHAT HAPPENED TO tHIS STORE, it used to be high end, not any more!!!

THE WORST ONLINE EXPERIENCE

"The WORST online experience, EVER. My return has been en route – using their expensive pre-paid label – for two weeks. Their condescending customer service people (endlessly starting each sentence with my first name) can only tell me that the package is "in transit" – they have no idea when it will be delivered, no idea how long the return will take to be processed once it is received (but it might be up to two weeks), and then it will take three weeks to refund my payment after the return is finally processed. I am not in the business of lending department stores money. Give me a break. Lord and Taylor used to be a marvelous store. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN."

Terrible Return Service

"I ordered 2 pairs of shoes in early February, with quick shipping via ShopRunner. I returned one pair of shoes with the pre-printed UPS return label via ShopRunner - my package was delivered 4 days later to the return dock (confirmation via UPS tracking), on March 6th. I knew it could take up to 10-14 days to see the refund reflected on my account, so I waited exactly 19 business days before I called to inquire about the refund. I was told their warehouse had recently relocated & I needed to allow a few more days - and asked to call back in a few days if no progress was made. Today, 1 MONTH from the date my return was received by Lord & Taylor, a ticket has finally been created to investigate the delay. I'm told it can take 5-7 business days to process & then another 5-7 days before I'll see the refund credited back on my account. I do tons of online shopping and have NEVER had such a poor customer service experiences. I will not buy anything else from them - I really wish I had read all these customer services reviews before I purchased!"
