"4 days after placing my order I received an email stating that the product I ordered was on backorder (it takes 4 days to find out you dont have a product in stock?) and that it was scheduled to ship to me on July 6th. I send an email requesting an update on my order on July 7th because I hadn't received any info since the original backorder email. Its now July 11th and I havent gotten a response. Horrible communication, horrible service, horrible business practice, horrible experience overall!
UPDATE 7/13: Markertek reached out to me yesterday and explained what happened and why there was a delay with my order (the manufacturer sent them the wrong product). Markertek then had the correct product overnighted to me (which I received today). So although I was not happy at first, they did their best to make it right in the end. "

The real story is a previous order, where Ryan Bradley went way out of his way to complete an item order on test equipment. Ryan processed the order and got it delivered on time, even though the delivery time was very unreasonable. He marks the difference between a salesman (knowing the product and what needs to be done) and an "order taker" (one who can process an order if you can tell them how)."

"Having a noisy studio but not ready to gut and rewire the building (it was built in 1960), I decided to try some Star Quad cables for my studio monitors. Plain TS patch cable was ok but turning up the pot on my passive controller, my active monitors had all kinds of racket across the audio band. Using TRS balanced cables was a lot better and let me know I was on the right path but there was much room for improvement.
I have known about Canare Star Quad cable for decades but never felt the need. Although one can buy the wire by the foot plus connectors from Markertek, I no longer have the soldering skills I once had. I ordered them custom made.
I had a little difficulty with finding the right ones among the 300+ choices. I called Markertek and was shown the drop-down menu where I could select length and color (among 8) for each cable. Once I saw this, online ordering was easy.
My cables cost $18 each for the 6' and $19 for the 10' cable to my subwoofer. Each has a TRS on one end and a XLR-M Neutrik connector on the other (yes!). Free shipping. I was called a week later and told that my order was in the que. I was promised a 15 day turnaround and had them in 13. Mind you, these were custom cables made to order.
Compare this to highly marketed "oxygen free" (whatever that really means) boutique wire that costs $40—$700 for a 3 foot 2-wire balanced line that is no quieter than a $6 Hosea. I've A/B'd and, frankly, marketing does not trump good physics.
I installed them when they arrived and could hear the difference immediately. Canare promises a 10–30 dB reduction depending on the frequency and that is no joke (you will only hear this in an extremely noisy environment like mine). I now have 0 induction noise as I turn the controller to full. Wow!
There is residual noise in the amps but I know it's not induced by my cable as it is constant no matter where the volume pot is. That will require a level of power conditioning I am not prepared to have done beginning with a complete re-wire. Maybe next year.
Anyway, my studio monitors are now acceptable and sound great. I couldn't be happier!
