"Great service. I've called twice and the support staff was very helpful in resolving questions and issues around their products. Also, their m350 case is hard to beat for a small itx build."
"Bought a ARM based board for a prototype. The description says it includes a plastic enclosure, which was not in the package.
I have gotten no response to any email queries, and you can forget a phone response; no one even answers the phone so you can't leave a message.
Can you imagine actually using these guys as a parts supplier?"
"I bought a power supply, upgraded it (but ordered the wrong replacement) and then upgraded to the correct part. So I had three orders. Two RMAs (one for the initial order and one for the wrong part). One RMA was received in early October, the other at the beginning of December. It's now the end of December. I haven't received the refund for either RMA yet.
Ordering was great and service and support was very good (including quick shipping), but to take the product back and not refund my money makes me feel like I was ripped off."
"I purchased a picoPSU-120 Power Kit and CF200 IDE to Compact Flash Adapter,for my mini-itx PC;
They took my credit card information and the transaction was secure, fast and transparent.
everything went right, and up to this date (9/25/2009) both items are working fine; I'm certaintly pleased with this company, as they provided me with all the info about my order, a tracking number and a reasonable amount of time for delivering my goods via UPS. Their online store is elegant and easy to navigate. It's like a candy store for the serious car PC builder or anyone interested into building a small, efficient energy PC.
I highly recommend this store."
"Given that Mini-box is apparently the premier Mini ITX store, along with Logic Supply, I was surprised to see scant reviews. I can’t say my experiences are too dissimilar to the previous reviewers, but I am more satisfied overall.
Mini-Box offers a complete line of products revolving around the Mini-ITX form factor intended for small personal computers, or high-end embedded devices. Mini-Box is one of the few places that offers a complete line of components and accessories for this market, and they offer their products at fair prices. Those seeking a pre-built solution would probably be better off with Logic Supply.
I ordered components for a complete solution based around their M350 enclosure and a dual core Atom Jetway motherboard/CPU combo. While scouting parts and configurations over about two weeks, I noticed major components were constantly on back order. Despite that, I placed an order July 9, 2009, when most were clear of back orders; only the CPU/motherboard was out of stock, the single core version of what I eventually ordered. I figured 3-5 days would clear the backorder, but about eleven days went by when I inquired about the status of my order. A day or two goes by before I get a response informing me that the motherboard is out of stock and that it would be for ten more days—so that would make almost an entire month for inventory turn around. I elected to pay the pittance for the dual core version, and the package arrived within a few business days after that. All components worked properly, and the device has been in service for about a month without issue.
I get the impression this company has not managed its growth properly and is under stress handling the daily churn of processing orders and support requests. Their inventory shortfalls are likely created by ordering directly from overseas while they run out of product waiting for the shipment to arrive. Hiring more staff and focusing management on trends rather than day-to-day minutia would go a long way for this company. Let’s hope they figure it out. In the meantime, I would order from Mini-box again as, for me, their prices and offerings outweigh their capacity/management shortfalls.
Edit: The review score shows four checks based on my decisions, but I'd give it three were I rating directly."
"mini-box.com (a.k.a. Ituner Networks) took an acceptable time to answer initial technical pre-sales questions (2-3 weekdays), but after a purchase they took ~2 weeks to answer 1st tech support question via email and never answered my 2nd tech support email question. After install, I realized the item description was misleading and product didn't live up to expectations. Requested exchange through email. I received instructions to RMA for exchange ~1 week later. I RMA'd and paid for shipping myself. USPS tracking number states item was received 8 days ago, website not updated to show receipt, and customer service not answering emails on questions concerning status of RMA. They sell unique products but buyer beware! No phone support. Bad email support. It has been 62 days since purchase and I am going to file for credit card refund before 90 day period is expired."
"Ok, the sales department of this company is amazing and great to work with, but as soon as you need a refund or multiple returns their amazingly quick responses and always there personnel suddenly are never available or will even return your emails for up to a month. Completely unacceptable. They offer amazing lifetime warranties but they are somewhat hesitant to actually come through with that."
"Very impressed with this store. I had a problem with a power supply and had to return it. Not only did the owner assist with my request to exchange it for the next model up, but on top of that he included the upgrade discount! In my experience, very few on-line stores are even willing to accommodate exchanges.
Edit: I ended up having a problem with the new power supply, through no fault of mini-box, however after over a month and multiple e-mails, mini-box still has not responded or sent a replacement.
Edit2: Contacted the owner directly and they refunded my money the next day. "
