"I have purchased over a dozen barebones systems from this company and have been very pleased with each. Their shipping rates are on the high side, but their low prices on hardware help balance everything out. I had one system arrive with a different mb/cpu combo than the one I ordered. I called to report it, they made a prompt adjustment to my satisfaction. I am convinced it was an honest mistake. I recommend them highly. Of the barebones I've ordered, only one had a "problem"...the LED connector for the case indicating hard drive activity was on backwards. No big deal at all. I've stopped going to the computer shows and fighting everyone for space at the table to look at the goods. Much easier to order from these guys on the 'Net!"

"Don't order past tuesday in the week unless you want a 4 day processing delay! Ordered on thursday morning the 12th, shipped monday night the 16th, made an another order the 17th to test them for future use as a case supplier. Sent order that night! Received both today. So order on thursday get it thursday order on tuesday get it thursday! But overall good pricing, high shipping, and good early week processing. Will only order on mondays and tuesdays from now on but am still satisfied with the service and product. They respond to emails in under an hour!!!! This is rare."

"I ordered some speakers. Got them and they had what looked like melted markes through their cases.
I emailed. They said they never sale used parts. I told them all I can say is what I have.

They said keep them or send them back.
I didn't understand since their emails were not well phrased.
A week later I got two new speakers in the mail. I never expected it.
While I have to say they aren't
great they at least try to make things right.

"Read the 5 reviews prior to ordering. I guess 5 reviews simply is not enough to deem any internet company to be great.

They advertised the C-4040 was in stock. I foolishly ordered. Get this em that I must call to confirm my order. This is a bait and switch tactic. Had the reviewers here mentioned this in their reviews then I would not have ordered. Of course when I called and asked if it was in stock, I was told no. I demanded the sale be cancelled and to send an em confirming this. So far, no email. Buyer beware, always be aware of the "call to confirm"

"I can not begin to say how much I like this company. My order was shipped the day I ordered. On top of this they sent me the tracking numer the same day. I mistyped my exp on credit card and they emailed right away. They have great prices which are a little above some companys but it is wqay worth it. I have had bad experince with the company that have cheaper prices (target-sale.com mostly) but I am still dealing witht hem before I give them a rating. Maybe I think those company are bad only because of how great PC Direct Source is. I would glady spen an extra 30 bucks on products for the reliabilty and consistancy they deleiver."

"Ordered a bare bones system. Price was identical to what was listed on pricewatch so I didn't have to enter a code, call or anything. Just placed the order. It was shipped out right away and came in great condition. Worked great and the motherboard driver disk was a wonderful change from the usual driver disks I've used. All I had to do was click on the driver I wanted and it installed and worked great."

"I recently had such a troubled order with another retailer (see report on Infinity Systems), that this was like a breath of fresh air.

Ordered a barebones, the website price essentially matched Pricewatch without having to hassle anyone. Ordered on the website on a Monday afternoon, and called just to check and see if shipping would really happen the following day as advertised. Indeed I was told by Cassie that it would and it did. Email notices were right on time with tracking information.

Shipping was UPS ground. Charge for a 15-20 pound box, if I use my own UPS account was about $8.25 including extra insurance. They charged about $18.50. You may consider this pricey, but if you compare it to other resellers who charge up to $40 for the same size box (some who even want to add an extra charge for insurance) I think you should be very happy as I was.

Everything arrived on schedule and worked as it should have. I have been burning the system in for over 72 hours and nothing has exploded or self-destructed thus far. Of course no one can project longevity for electronics so this all boils down to customer service, and frankly, these folks have impressed me up to this point.

Perhaps they are so good because they are not part of the Ohio Mafia of computer resellers.

"I have had two excellent experiences with this company…But one of them, because of the problems involved, is particularly interesting. Ordered a barebones kit from this company and my bank [that never gets anything right] would not approve the shipping address, although they insist to me that it’s registered with them…OK…got that resolved…Then, my bank declined the charge because of insufficient funds! Come to find out, A DIFFERENT MERCHANT had double-charged me on a previous order. OK, got that resolved. What’s particularly ridiculous about this is that each time there was a problem to with my bank, PC Direct Source CALLED me, and when they failed to reach me, E-MAILED!!! Why is this ridiculous??? Shouldn’t everyone do business this way??? Of course! But, everyone doesn’t. It’s enough that their prices are extraordinarily low…But given the quality of their customer service, it would be worth paying a premium to do business with them. Do yourself a favour and spend your money with them."
