"DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE SCAMMERS!!!

I ordered the following..........
Matsonic 9337C Barebone Kit 1 $384.53
* Matsonic 9337C Socket 478 DDR Retail Box
* Intel Pentium™ 4 2.40GHz 512K 533FSB S.478 Retail Box
* 512MB DDR400 PC3200 Non-ECC Samsung
* ATX Deluxe MidTower 400W P.S. w/2 Front USB

When it arrived (2 weeks later, the bios reported that the cpu had been changed and the mb would not operate the dram at 400, when I change the bios settings it locked up. I called the "techs" and they said the ram problably was not compatible with the mb. I asked why would they sell incompatible ram from the drop down menu for the barebones ordering page. He said that the buyer should know more about the products that they want to purchase! Anyway, he suggested that I keep trying to get the mb to work on my own! I said this was not acceptable and demanded an RMA#. He would not issue one (10 minutes to closing time!) and said I would have to request one online.

Four days later, no call or email. I call them, the say that they have no record of the request, and that I must have sent the email to the wrong address (this is an email form page on their website). After a few choice words by me, he gave me an alternate email address. So I send in the request again.

2 days later, I get a response saying "are you sure? Are you aware of the 20% restocking fee?" I reply YES, SEND THE DAM*&^ RMA#!!!!

So I finally get the RMA#, UPS the whole kit and today they call....

Him: Uhh yes, we got your return, and um, the ram is not ours...

Me: What do you mean?

Him: Yeah, the motherboard works fine but you sent the wrong ram, its no good, we don't sell that kind.

He's telling me a lie. I checked the model number of the dram when I had it and it was what it was suppossed to be.

Me: No way, your telling me this because you guys are mad that I'm returning the stuff. If that ram is wrong, someone in your assembly room used the wrong item.

Him: Impossible, that couldn't happen.

Me: Really? Then why was there a wrapper for a 2.66 ghz cpu in the box, yet the actual cpu on the board was the 2.4 I ordered.

Him: Well sometimes they do that accidently>

Well, anyways, after I cursed more than I needed to, he tells me that they are going to issue the refund, less the cost of the DDR400 ram. The ram will be sent back to me. What do you want to bet that it will be some burned up module from some other system? These guys were rude, uncaring, uncooperative, unresponsive and just plain smug. I'm screwed because I paid by checking card, LIVE AND LEARN! Always use your visa or mc! I don't know what to do now. I guess I'm SOL and can only vent and rave on sites like this so someone else doesn't get ripped off. BTW, I ordered my new system from NewEgg.com and Accupc.com and got the ram from Crucial. I got free shipping, fast order processing and everything works like a charm.

Buyer Beware! ProNETsale.com blows kous-kous!

"I just ordered two bare bones systems from ActOnline Store (a company synonymous with ProNet) and I've had some trouble already - and I haven't even received my order yet! The day I ordered, I received a confirmation, OK, good so far. The next day, I received an email stating that there was a problem with my address from my credit card issuer. I called my bank multiple times, and they assured me that my address in their system was correct. After calling so-called "tech support" at ACT (and hung up on three times by a RUDE support person), I finally got an email stating that they verified my address and my order is being processed. Now, after reading all these horror stories, I'm REALLY upset! I asked tech support when my order was going to be shipped, and I was told to go online and read their shipping FAQs. I have a sick feeling in my stomach, more is sure to go wrong...

ORDER:
* ECS K7S5A Pro Socket A SDR/DDR Retail Box
* AMD Duron™ 1.3GHz Socket A OEM
* Socket A Cooling Fan w/Heatsink
* 32AW SRS Sound
* 10/100Base T Network Card
* ATX Deluxe MidTower 300W P.S.

------------------------
UPDATE:
I received an email today that my order was shipped. I rec'd a tracking number, but at the moment, I can't pull it up at the UPS webpage. UPS probably does not pickup packages until the evening, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
-----------------------------------
UPDATE:
The UPS tracking number is good, the package should be at my door on 03.20.03. Will post an update when it's out of the box.
-----------------------------------
UPDATE:
I received the shipment yesterday, and I must say that I am VERY SATISFIED, believe it or not! My order of two bare bones systems was meticulously packed, and included all original boxes. I installed my own memory, hard drive, floppy, video card, and CD-ROM on both machines, installed WinME, and they booted up and ran perfectly! I am AMAZED, because all these negitive postings were worrying me. I am absolutly satisfited with the products I received; and I am especially satisfied with the price, although I still feel that customer service needs much improvement! I will run the machines for a week, and make another update.

"Well, I wish I'd checked here before I bought from pronet.
If they had given me what I asked for, I would have been
satisfied. But, they gave me the opportunity to deal with them
on a personal level......and that is the LAST time......This is my
story....It should serve as a warning...
They do NOT care about you.....Or right and wrong....

I bought a pc kit, used the drop down choices and nailed down
the order for my 13 year old's PC.
A Biostar motherboard , celeron, etc...
I added the 32AW SRS sound, a better case, cd burner, and a cd drive, etc..

Well, I went to show my son the order process and what I bought him
from the site. When I got out of it, an e-mail was in my inbox confirming
my order. This was 3 days later.. So, I tried calling to see if a cookie allowed
them to repeat the old order (this turned out NOT to be a problem. Everytime
I go to the site, I get the same confirming e-mail - dumb) -
no answer with the phone call... several times (weekend).

So, I wrote them about this, stating that if this was a 2nd
order, I don't want it. I DO want the first. I gave my phone number, and
waited. Nothing. 2 days later, I got home from work and saw an email from
pronet, saying to call them, and another saying that my order shipped.
I didn't call, since it shipped, and if there was a problem, surely they would
have called the numbers I left in my e-mail and in my order.

Within 2 days, the shipment arrived, and it had an ACORP motherboard,
with dual processor support, and raid , but NO sound card.

I called the number from the email, and they said that they could no longer
get the BIOSTAR mainboards, so gave me a more expensive one, and
subtracted the sound card to make up for it.... They said to call Tech support
for anything else to do with it.

Well, I did call. They refused to send me the $10 or 20 sound card, and when
I suggested returning it and undoing the deal, he issued me an RMA# to
return it all. GREAT customer service.

The website STILL lists the BIOSTAR as available, and he just blew it off,
saying it takes time to update the page.

Well, I'm sure my 13y/o kid would be impressed with the ability to have,
not 1, but 2 processors, and if I buy him another hard drive, we could
protect all his important stuff with raid. AND, I know that all of this is far
more important to him than the few sounds that his games annoy him with.
So much for internet / mail-order.

I'll probably buy a sound card, and just try hard not to drive to Solon, Ohio to
throttle these idiots.

This is all I can do.
Again,,,,,If you get what you ordered, it's OK, if not - you get to deal with jerks.
My advice: BUY ELSEWHERE - DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE IN ANY WAY.
Good luck!

"Boy was I afraid of ordering from this company after reading only horrible reviews about them. But I admit it. I'd do ANYTHING to save money. Take any risk. Suffer any humiliation. So I ordered...
and they were great. Not that I didn't give them a hard time anyway.

Their site was one of the best on the internet to configure your own system. The selection was large and the configurator easy to use. I chose an asus p4b533 mobo, pentium 4 2.56g processor, two 40 gig hard drives and a floppy drive in a case. I got an email from them in 2/3 days saying that I'd chosen incompatible memory, and that they replaced it with the right kind for the same price. OK... that seemed reasonable. Then the next day they called and said that I ordered a crappy case and power supply, and I should upgrade. That was it! I had a fit on the phone... I said that I had read about their rip-off tactics and don't think they were going to pull that on me. For 15 minutes I put them through the wringer...on their dime! Finally, I agreed to upgrade the power supply to the tune of $45, (I had ordered the cheapest generic model). In the end they never even charged me for it. 5 business days later I had my computer - Packed meticulously, and it included all the documentation. They even broke down the original component boxes and included them with my order. Also, they set up my raid configuration, installed xp and tested the system. All I had to do was install my own cdrw drive and I was on my way.

I promised Greg I think his name was, that I would write a glowing report if I was happy, OR rip them to shreds if I was not. So here I am... keeping my promise. I couldn't be any more satisfied.

Whew!!!

"UPDATE!!!

I called and got an RMA number so I could send the motherboard back and get it replaced. I got no confirmation when they recieved it and after 12 days I got the same motherboard back. It still will not work. I don't think they even bothered to test it, the just reboxed it and sent it back. BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!

I bought a motherboad, CPU and memory from these people and when the parts arived the motherboard did not work. I ended up having to call them 2 times and then call the motherboard manufacturer before they would even give me a RMA number. Now, 4 months later the motherboard is dead again. I went an E-mail to their tech support to verify the board was dead do i could get another RMA #. I got an "Auto-responce" that said that they would contact me within 24-48 hours. After 5 DAYS i sent them another (less polite) e-mail and got a nasty responce back. I dont know how they even stay in business, but I STRONGLY advise NOT to order from this Company.

"I purchased a complete system including an OS and Norton's Antivirus. To date, I have still not received the Nortons. I have contacted the seller (newgenpc.com) 3 times by phone and 3 times by email. All 3 phone contacts were to Igor (who speaks in broken, hard to understand englist). He always insists on calling me back and never does. Stay away from this seller."

"I was searching Pricewatch for a monitor as a present for my dad. Pronet Sales listed a 19" flat-screen monitor for $147 + $32 shipping and handling.
Total $179
I placed an order through their website, which listed a higher price for the monitor ($189 + S&H). Upon placing the order I noted that I saw the ad on Pricewatch and only wanted the order to be processed if the pricewatch price was honored.

I found that my order was processed for a total of $226 ($189 + $37 S&H). I contacted them about the error. The staff told me the price was for phone orders only. I informed them that their ad had no mention of this. I also faxed them a copy of my order with the note and the ad from pricewatch. I spoke to a manager who said I was "stupid for placing an order when the price on the website was different than the pricewatch price" (through a thick slavic accent) Then I was told the price would not be honored and I would receive no compensation.

I HIGHLY recommend staying away from this website, and it's subsidiaries.
