Beware hidden delivery charge

"I used to be a frequent user of Seamless' website, but i have reached my limit. All one asks of a site like this is to honestly tell you what you are getting and paying and to send the order on to the restaurant. Well there are many complaints around about orders never arriving, etc., but my problem comes from the former - failure to honestly disclose the cost. There was a restaurant listed with a delivery charge of $0 and I went through the whole process of ordering (logged in so they knew where the food was going) and it continued to show $0. At the last minute, the zero changed to $4, but I had already hit the submit button before I noticed the change. I went back to the listing for the restaruant and noticed a tiny down symbol next to the $0 and when i clicked on it, sure enough a drop down note said that the charge was $0 to $4. Deceptive? For sure. But now you are warned."

"If you don't mind to pay for something you didn't eat and enjoy being screwed, you'll be happy with Seamless.

We ordered food on Seamless a week ago, but the service was bad (took nearly an hour for a restaurant to deliver food, whereas the restaurant is only ONE BLOCK away) and part of our orders was missing. Tried to call the restaurant for the missing orders, but no one picked up the phone.

After the failure of contacting the restaurant, I filed a complaint with Seamless. NO REPLIES for one week except an auto-reply message telling that it would take one week for them to reply. Tried to follow up with Seamless a few days later, still nothing. HELLO? It's been one week and we still haven't got any responses. Ridiculous customer services. We will definitely reach out to our credit card company for a dispute.

"Seamless makes life in NYC so much easier, especially for those like me who don't have a substantial kitchen, or simply don't often feel like putting in the effort to cook (and especially do the dishes after). The site and app are easy to use, and the experience has always been positive for me."
