"I've sold two items to SellYourMac over the last few years, a laptop and an iMac. Both times were seamless experiences. They paid what they said they would (as long as you are a fair assessor of your device!), and they're excellent with communication. They let you know when they've received your mac in the mail and the steps they're going through up through issuing payment. The prepaid label you get upon accepting their offer is such a time saver in shipping your device; it takes a lot of the hassle of the transaction out. I've never had a security issue (though I wipe my devices) after selling, and they have a robust program to place computers with folks who are struggling financially.

It's a nice midway point between my trying to sell my items back to Apple (both were too old for the program, and they offered nothing but recycling of my devices) and selling locally (get more money, but larger risks and hassle).
