"My wife, Teresa Morgan, shops the BX online very much. Our youngest granddaughter just graduated High School on 26 May 2023. She has been accepted to the
Texas A & M Veterinary School. My wife had received an offer via email for ZERO INTEREST for any purchase of $399 for 12 months and/or $999 for 18 months. We wanted to buy our granddaughter a Laptop Computer as a graduation gift from “Shopmyexchange.com”. My wife called Shopmyexchange.com Customer Service for assistance with this purchase of $1,799 and wanted the ZERO FINANCING for 12 months. She was assured this purchase of $1,799 for 12 months and was confirmed by this Customer Service representative and placed this order.
This is where this whole thing went south. We received our Statement before we received the Laptop and $14.98 interest was already been applied to our purchase that was supposed to be ZERO INTEREST for up to 18 months. We called Customer Service again and talked with a woman named Tammy. A very rude and obnoxious woman. I explained that this was supposed to be Zero Interest and she acknowledged it was NOT and very rudely said there was nothing that could be done. Tammy stated this purchase was set up as “PAY YOUR WAY” at 9.99% with $14.98 interest applied before we received the computer and approximately a month before the first payment was due. Why would anyone purchase anything from anyone where interest was applied arbitrarily instead of taking advantage of the ZERO INTEREST offer??? Even non-Pay Your Way purchases using Star Card Does NOT CHARGE interest until a payment is LATE or not Paid in full upon receipt of their statement. This is a rotten shame to have a Customer Service Representative like Tammy assisting active duty & dependents , retired Vets and dependents and pretty much telling us tough xxxx!! This is probably the poorest excuse of Customer Service we have ever dealt with. Tammy ranks right up there as THE poorest example of Customer Service anywhere.

"Freight shipping from Aafes takes 4-8 times longer than ordering from anywhere else. Can you wait over a month for a new refrigerator, or would you rather wait a week to a few days from anywhere else? Can you wait two months for a piece of furniture that you can get in a week or less anywhere else? Freight orders from Aafes, don't expect to able to track them.
Regular shipping works just like anywhere else. If your order can go regular shipping, go for it!
Avoid freight orders like the plague. "
"I have only been a member for about a year. So I waited to give a review until I had several experiences with the exchange. I can say from making a lot of purchases that I wished I had known about this benefit being a honorably discharged veteran a long long long time ago. a couple of times I was disappointed but that's because I didn't read all the details about the item that's my bad I would say 90% of the time everything has been fantastic and came really fast.my last purchase was a through the wall air conditioner because ours went out in the middle of June and it was going to start getting really really hot here in Oklahoma I ordered the air conditioner and it was shipped the very evening that I ordered it I had it within 3 days.it was packaged beautifully no problems and we did not go a day with temperatures over 85 degrees waiting on that item to be shipped and having started a new job I just could didn't have the funds to just buy it outright so as far as the financing goes it's top-notch.most of the reviews I've read are three years and older I say go back and take another look I can see that teach change has been making great leaps and bounds as far as meeting the demands of the consumer and I recommend the exchange any day of the week any day of the week you can't argue with tax free free shipping, and then you got the Navy exchange the Marine you've got them all. market
As far as third-party vendors some of those items are high-dollar and pricey. In the future I'm hoping that The consumers can place an order online for office Depot products and be able to go to their local office Depot and pick that item up. Also would like for the exchange to carry the same prices online for their specialty stores the same as the specialty stores have them for example office Depot has 50% off on furniture for the office that if you go online to buy the same item and through the exchange at office Depot it's still at the regular price. To sum it up I will always shop at the army Navy Air Force exchange

"So bought my son a PS4 bundle on Black Friday online. The status went from processing to back ordered over and over. Finally after over a month I get an email with a status update. The status was cancelled. I was very mad. I called the service line. They pretty much said I was screwed snd there is nothing they can do. What bs!!!"
"I purchased a stereo system and Michael not only transported it to my car, but assisted me in rearranging my other purchases to fit the large box inside. Michael was patient, kind, and courteous. Thanks!"
"Am on my third phone call, one 'chat' session and second email to customer service leaving a 4 day break awaiting responses.
No one has provided a consistent or even an answer at all.
The 'chat' person copied and pasted the return information that is online. No clarification of the return policy that is very vague for electronics.
Returns are time sensitive i.e. 14 days from time of receipt.
The first phone call resulted in a hesitating response with an address, the second call told me the laptop would be picked up and could not be returned by mail.
Four days later and no email has arrived letting me know when the laptop would be picked up.
No response via email from customer support.
I am currently on hold going on 30 minutes after being told it will take 10-14 days for the laptop to be picked up which is after the timeline to get a refund for a return. I've asked if I can get an email stating the return was requested within the two week return period.
After this experience I would suggest being very wary of ordering big ticket items."
"Website may say In Stock Ready to Ship but most items are drop shipped from manufacturer and they have no idea how much stock there is. Your order could be on indefinite backorder. Don't buy unless you have patience and time to wait. "
"Initially very dissatisfied with Hickam AFB Popeye's extremely dry chicken. Almost discarding most pieces, decided to call to report unacceptable experience. Food Court Manager MONET ROWAN assisted us, talked to staff, & offered a meal with sides & biscuits to make up for the unsatisfactory meal. She was very understanding, accommodating, & personable with qualities exhibiting superior customer service. Please commend her.

" Applies to website only, wanted to purchase a Toshiba Chromebook 2 (2014 model) placed the order on 12/04/2104, item showed "in stock, ready to ship" so I elected to ship to store since it contained a lithium battery...
Their list of available stores to choose from for Grafenwoehr did not contain the main PX but a small furniture store located on the adjoining base Vilseck. When we selected the PXTRA on Vilseck it showed NO actual address which was my first concern... the order went through and it remained "in process" for a week. Being that we are in Germany I decided to try and use their chat option, it showed offline every day except once (I got lucky). Found out that the ONLY reason my order has been stuck in this status was due to a incomplete address. So after explainIng that it was listed incorrectly on their site she noted the main PX as the ship to address and even told me they would price match with Best buy...I was told that I should see a change in a few days... another week goes by...no change... I called, first time and am told that the order will ship on the 19th... I had a tough time understanding why an in stock item would need over 2 weeks to ship but ok... another day goes by and I get an email letting me know my order was canceled. I am furious now so I call again and am being told that this item was being shipped directly from a Vendor and that they didn't know when they would ship the item.. I went on and expressed my disatisfaction on this ordeal and that legally one can't receive funds for merchandise unless the merchandise is available to ship. I've worked in retail this is some sneaky BS. So after all of that the CSR hung up on me. I checked their site a few days later and by a miracle they removed the 2014 model of the Toshiba Chromebook 2 @ $329.00 and only show the older model @ $249.00 as in stock...but is it really?! To my surprise the order is still processing as of today 12/18/2014 even though I have received notification of it being canceled. I will NEVER attempt to order anything from their ecommerce site in the future as they clearly don't actively mange inventory levels, internal addresses or man their advertised customer service chat... very disappointing. "
"Bought a TV trying to save a trip on FT Gordon. Ordered the TV from the website when it listed the item as "In stock". After a day I decided to cancel my order. I called the 800 number and was told that since the order was being dropped shipped from another vendor that I was not allowed to cancel my order. I decied to wait it out and have them ship the TV. A week has gone by and the TV still shows "Processing order". I called back and pleaded to stop my order so I could just walk in the store and pick one up which had 4 on the shelfs... The customer service rep again said I would have to wait till they ship it to my house and deny the package and wait for it to go back to the vendor. BEWARE in stock is not IN STOCK... That is a false misleading claim to get you to order then they locked you in from trying to stop the order. "
"THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THEIR WEBSITE - NOT PHYSICAL STORES
So disappointed. Ordered items on Black Friday with the expectation that items would be shipped in a timely manner. It's December 11 and still have not shipped and their customer service says they have no implied guarantee of getting items out before Christmas. WHAT?!?! Now, I have paid for items that won't be under the tree unless I pay for them AGAIN from another store in the hopes of getting them delivered to Germany in time for Christmas. Completely wrong!"
"I use the local PX (more like a troop store) quite a bit, simply because a trip into town would use up my entire lunch break and more gas. It not because the food is good or the prices are so much lower.
I've tried to use their website several times after they emailed me promotions, but the items I wanted never qualified for the promotions. Seems like a cheap tactic to me. The design of the site is poor too. I get the reasoning for logging in before I shop is so that non-military and non-military family members don't shop there, but can't they do that during the checkout process so I don't have to waste time logging in and end up not buying anything? It took me a while to get the hang of using the website and I'm quite internet savvy. No doubt the people who run the site were either ordered to do it or they got the job because of their PT score and combat experience rather than knowledge and ability.
I don't even bother checking prices on the site anymore hoping to get a deal. I can never find enough to order to make it worthwhile. Maybe one day the site will be better, but change in the military always moves slower than a T-28 tank and any improvements take years."
