"Tried to reach out to customer service regarding an order that I had placed within minutes. No response received back. Better off paying a little more than having to deal with a company like this. Why bother even pretending to have customer service on their website?"
"Ordered the books from textbook.com website, and paid the money but never got the books delivered. Contacted the customer support but they wont help and just keep on twisting your case. After one week of my order and payment, the website shows order cancelled but never got my refund. Never buy books online and always go for offline purchase but at least strictly don’t go for textbook website."
"You think you’re purchasing a specific e-book title that clearly states to be read on Vitalsource Bookshelf, only to be scammed and discovering you were instead charged for a Pearson+ 4 month subscription service on Pearson‘s website. Not an e-book!"
"Thieves. Take your money, do not deliver the book, and then fight your tooth and nail.
Avoid DENISE. The one that sounds like she came out of the sewer drain. Have another cigarette.
Bought a book for $97 never delivered. I go to re-buy the book and they have my item back on the site, even though it was "out of stock" for 3 TIMES THE COST. Tried to sell me a bs reason I couldn't buy it back at the same price I paid, lied about ever sending it, made me wait for a month, LIED, LIED, LIED. Now I don't have a book for class and I am a month behind. SNAKES. Oh, and then DENISE had the nerve to blame me and felt the need to further insult me and tell me I didn't know how access codes work. OK Denise. After I was told that I needed to get a refund because I was $#*! out of luck, I did, and look what magically shows up for sale? The book I waited a month for! Imagine that.
So, no book, still no refund- even though it was "processed" no book, behind in class, and hours and patience wasted on trying to get help to find the book that "wasn't scanned but on its way".
DO NOT SUPPORT THIEVES
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

"I “sold” 3 books on this garbage site just for them to come back and say 2 were missing an access code and if I wanted them back I had to call them and pay for shipping by a certain time, which of course I forgot about. One book was brand new, never used by me or anybody else, so if there wasn’t an access code then it didn’t come with one. I’ll never use them again. There are plenty of other sites I could use and next time I won’t forget to look up reviews for them. "
"I was quoted about $100 to sell my Engineering Circuits book to textbooks.com. The offer was better than any other website I received quotes from so, as a poor college kid, I jumped on the offer. I followed their instructions and securely packaged my book with bubble wrap and it was on its way. Days later I checked my email looking for a confirmation that they received the book and was informed they received my book and sent my preferred method of payment (check) to me. So I waited for the check, and and about 2 weeks later, I emailed them asking for verification that they sent the check but no response. Well I waited, and waited, and waited.... then I looked for a phone number to contact them but they didn’t have one, only email. Again, I emailed them emphasizing my concern but didn’t get a response. I wish I would have been more suspicious from the start but unfortunately I learned the hard way. This company stole my book and rented or sold it to someone else. If this “business” offers you a low price for rental or purchase, it’s because they steal the books from other unfortunate victims. This is a disgrace to textbook services and I hope I can prevent them from scamming a few more college students. I highly recommend that you do NOT do business with them and go with one of the others, like chegg or amazon. "
"I went through textbooks.com for school and they charged me for a “new” book that came in used. They are crooks! Customer Service told me to make sure I look at my ISBN on my syllabus next time."
"Got a quote to resell three of my textbooks (total of $59, three books, $9, $10, $40 each). Shipped all three books in one box (so they all definitely arrived together), then got a check a few weeks later for $19... after looking at my account online it says the fourth book never arrived so I will not be paid for it. This is obviously not true because they all shipped in one box and they received the other two. Coincidence that the book worth the most $ was 'never received'? Don't think so."
"So, you get a quote for a book. The book is in fine condition basically the same as it was purchased from them. You send them the book, they decide there is an "unknown stain" on the cover, which is ridiculous. They tell you nothing about why it's damaged you have to ask them. So, I ask for my property back, they want to charge me $9 to get it back, if I don't pay they destroy MY property. So essentially they are stealing and holding it for ransom. I will never purchase another book from this company as long as I am in school. Unethical, sketchy and just disgusting business practices. This is clearly a common theme for them if you read other reviews. I've let my entire cohort know not to use these people. "
"You send them the books after they quote you a purchase price and then when they receive them they tell you they are not going to pay your for them and if you want them back, you have to pay them.
Basically they are stealing your books."
"I recently purchased a book through Textbooks.com; and received one follow-up email that the purchase had been transferred to another company, PaperbackshopUSA, and I should direct any inquiries to that company, but, they said, they did not have an address forPaperbackbooksUSA. So, I was on my own. I tried to email Textbooks.com about this, but got no reply. Same response from PaperbackbooksUSA - I emailed them, after I found an email address for them, and got no reply.
I did receive my order after about 15 days, but no receipt nor packing slip; not even a return address on the envelope. I recommend staying away from these two outfits.

"I sent them a book for buyback that was in excellent shape, due in part to the fact I purchased it new and barely cracked it open during the course. After sending them the book they refused to buy it stating it was "not in good condition" (it was almost new), and that if I wished to have the book back it would be nearly $9.00 for shipping. The book is a small spiral paper back book that is roughly 150 pages. It is extremely light, unquestionably it does not cost that much to ship. I wish I had just kept the book or donated it. Another student could have used a free book.

"I bought a textbook that was supposed to be "NEW". I received a book that was very used. On top of that, the person that packed it must have been high on crack because they did a terrible job. Their supplier that sold me the book through textbooks.com (sun and moon bookstore) has a terrible customer service record, but nobody cares and still let them keep ripping people off."
"Textbooks.com quoted me on a used book. I sent it in and they told me it was damaged. I told them the book was fine when I shipped it. They said the book had no physical damage but was marked damaged because it didn't have an access code. They like to make excuses on why they don't want to pay you. If you buy a used textbook, there is a great chance the access code has been used . Textbooks.com wants to charge $9 to ship the book back to you when the book can be shipped media mail for $3 or less. In conclusion, beware sending books to textbooks.com and buy an extra access code or your book is considered damaged and they will profit off of shipping the book to you"
"That is ridiculous. I just received an empty box and I paid $179. I will have to get hold of customer service tomorrow morning. "
