Do not purchase from them

"This business is not serious nor worthy of your time and money. I purchased item 661-3593 VIDEO CARD ATI RADEON 9650 256 MB DVI/DVI FOR POWER MAC G5 from them, and they shipped me a regular 9600 with 128 MB instead. To make matters worse, the board seems to have defective VRAM, as weird patterns appear in both 2D and 3D modes. I have tried reaching them by chat and email and I they have completely ignored me about this issue."

Used 2009 Mac Pro

"I ordered a 2009 Mac Pro from this website several weeks ago and was skeptical about my decision due to all of the negative reviews and experiences many seem to have had.

However I was desperate for a new computer, and seeing a $400 listing for an octocore 128gb RAM 2009 Mac Pro, just in my price range, seemed too good to be true. I was curious about some of the specs and the process of ordering, so I emailed them and was even more discouraged from their response. I got no help of any kind, just a single sentence description of the specs I had inquired in detail about, with poor grammar, no punctuation, generally unprofessional format and a complete lack of empathy or information for the fact that I was about to buy a used computer off of the internet.

I was prepared to send the computer back at the least when it was to arrive, going through PayPal so it would be easy to get my money back if the sender would not comply in some way. I figured buying a used computer would be a process of many returns and disappointments.

The computer shipped in just a couple days, and arrived shortly after. I booted it up very scared of what I would find, and was disheartened by the fact that it would not boot at all the first time around. I decided in desperation to boot it a second time, and it started up with no problem. I had to play a guessing game of what the user password was for about 30 seconds, discovering that is was just a hit of the enter key. Thankfully I had my wits about me, because there was no indication of the password anywhere in my purchase or on the computer itself. I checked the specs information as soon as I was able, and was pleased to see that it was exactly what I had ordered. I did a harddrive reset and the computer acted as if I had just bought it new.

The computer has been running perfectly, and although it came without a WiFi card, I was expecting some modification would be necessary. It installed with no problem and is currently working better than what my 2015 MacBook Air Is equipped with. I have tested all ports and the only thing left unchecked and in perfect working condition are the RAM slots, which I will be able to test as soon as my cards arrive.

Overall I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The computer has several marks and a few pieces of tape stuck to it, presumably from the former owner, and although I did not see that mentioned on the website I expected some cosmetic damage.

The website is scary: there were no live pictures of the computer I bought before I bought it, so I could not even see that the computer I wanted existed, even though there is a dedicated “images” tab on the sales page of the computer itself. Thank God FedEx tells you the weight and dimensions of your package during shipping.

In retrospect is was a really dumb idea to buy from this website based on the credibility, customer service experience and website experience in general. However, the computer has so far exceeded my expectations of buying a used Mac online. Based on this experience I would definitely buy again, though I would probably refuse if not given more information about the buy.

Used original 30" AppleCinema Display LCD panel

"I made my order, they processed it immediately, and the shipping took only 8 working days.
My old 30" Cinema display (LG-Philips LM300W01-STA4) had a bad yellowish tint over all parts of the screen. I replaced it with the one from used mac.com and it works like new again!
This purchase was an excellent experience!
I would do it again!

Scammers

"They took my money and I never got my order. Simple as that. These people took over a week to even "ship" my order out, then, even though I paid for FedEx, it came up as USPS when shipping out. Then after a few days of not receiving the package after seeing the tracking said delivered, I email them asking what's up. No reply. Then, about a week later, I filed a claim with PayPal, and almost instantly they replied to PayPal and escalated it to a dispute, basically taking my money. Do not buy from them. "

Bad experience, inaccurate info, inaccurate order processing

"I made an order for 3 used Mac Miniso n 1-25-19. After ten days, I had not seen my order processed or updated to include shipping information. When I contacted usedmac.com, I was told that the three computers were shipping on 2-4-19 and my order would be updated with the tracking number.

On 2-6-19 I still did not have a tracking number, and when I contacted usedmac.com, I was told the delay was because of hard drive upgrades that I did not request, but the order would ship that day and I would have a tracking number. I did get a tracking number and when the order arrived, the box included only two Mac Minis, not the three that I ordered.

I called usedmac.com and was told that the third Mac Mini was shipped separately and that the new tracking number would be updated on my order and the computer would arrive on 2-9-19. The order was never updated to include an additional tracking number and the computer was not delivered.

I have contacted usedmac.com to request a refund for the third Mac Mini that I paid for but was not delivered, and I have not heard back yet. Very frustrating, inaccurate information and inaccurate order processing from usedmac.com.

Kept money for over 2 weeks to say they dont have parts

"I ordered 2 optical drives off this company. They kept my money for 12 days with NO communication. I asked for an updated via their chat. Still no response. I call today and he says oh well we have to pull the items and should get to testing them today. Then I get a refund and states that they do not have the items yet they were listed as in stock when ordering. Avoid this company at all costs."

basically told me I was a liar

"Bought a 27" Apple Thunderbolt monitor. Received said monitor. Huge noticeable issues in lower right hand corner of monitor that got worse over time. Had a person who had worked on macs before and said they saw the same thing. Talked to person at used mac and they told me basically they checked it out and was fine and basically yelled at me. I did send back and after I guess his cooler head prevailed he told me he would pay for part of return shipping. They received return and I noticed the credit on cc was missing the shipping credit they told me they would do. So I emailed them and they told me they tested the returned monitor and there was nothing wrong with it and told me I only did not want it. So they did not honor what they said they would do and I had to pay more for a different monitor because I needed a bigger screen for projects. I had bought monitors from them in the past. Had no problems before but this time who knows. My 5 cent theory is their idea of what is good and your idea is going to be different. If fact he told me I was lucky they even took it back. The last thing I wanted to do is send it back. Very last thing."

Be careful and run diagnostics as soon as you receive it!!!

"I bought a mid-2010 iMac i7 from Usedmac.com about three weeks ago. Before I ordered it, I emailed Sales and asked what kind of condition the iMac was in. I was told "they are in Grade A condition and may have few very minor scratches on the back only". For the most part, that was true. There were no scratches on the back and just a couple of tiny pings on the stand. I was VERY happy with the cosmetic condition of the iMac.

OPERATIONALLY though, that was a different story. When I received the iMac, there was a tiny line of magenta pixels on the left side of the display from top to bottom. It went away after a few minutes which was a relief. Within a day or two though, I started seeing a lot of magenta and green 2mm pixels bouncing around on the screen occasionally, seeming to blink along with HDD activity. I reported this via their website twice and received no response. Because I needed a quick fix, I called Apple and they told me to take it to the local store. Upon running diagnostics, (which I watched them run) the 1tb hard drive was failing and the video card had to be replaced. That repair will cost me $411 and will take about a week, but at least I don't have to pay $60 to ship it to California (a week from Georgia), wait for them to repair it, and then wait another week for it to get back to me and still maybe have a problem elsewhere with it.

Now, I know I could have called these guys and asked them to honor their warranty, but I'd rather have the iMac repaired directly by Apple. Also, I didn't want the hassle of arguing with them (not that I expected it) and then wasting time and money to ship it back. Point is - they should have ran diagnostics before shipping the iMac. I only paid $795 for it and cosmetically, it was definitely Grade A condition. I suppose it could have been worse, like a logic board failure or a unit that Apple wouldn't repair. Just be careful when you buy and be sure to run diagnostics as soon as the unit arrives, especially if you don't buy an additional warranty.

"I purchased my Macbook from UsedMac.com and I LOVE it!!! I recommend this website for anyone who is looking to buy a Mac just not full price. My friend introduced me to the website and I was skeptical until I used her Mac and saw how fast it was. I purchased a 2009 Macbook and it came in great condition with only a few minor scratches and a small chip on the inside but overall for the price I am overly please. Customer service was awesome as well! I spoke with Michael and he helped me with exactly what I needed without trying to force sale me something I did not. I will make all future Mac purchases from these guys as well if I ever decide to upgrade!!!"
