"ZTradingPost is a bit of a mixed bag. They're not "one" store, but a conglomerate of pawn shops across the states. Having placed 5 orders with them, I feel that I've got a decent perspective.

First off, their descriptions seem computer-generated. Often they'll specify a wrong brand in the photo, or misidentify the item in the body paragraph. Not a big deal, as it's normally not totally off (but still confusing). You can always submit a question, then wait... But truly, their system needs a revamp. More humans and time at the helm. ZTP would likely push more merch if buyers knew exactly what was being sold, right off the bat.

Customer service here is either very good or very bad (latter = nonexistent). You'll get your answer on weekday mornings, generally -- or not at all. I'd give it a B- on the whole. But when you do get a rep on tap, he's usually pretty attentive.

Hard to specify pros and cons. My first order, a game CD, came bootlegged, complete with a cheap scissor-cut "home printer" cover, and no inserts. But after inquiring, they gave me a full refund, including shipping. I don't know whether that's a pro or a con -- could have been worse, eh? A bad apple somewhere was peddling CD-Rs through 'em, which is against their policy. My second order when through silky smooth, anyway.

A week after placing my third order, I was told the item was "out of stock" -- literally, "we could not find it". A little annoying, but at least they didn't charge my card first. Nonetheless, there's little here in the way of reimbursement for time, like credits and/or any kind of rain-checks. I just wanted the item, no matter who it came from. Meh.

Anyway -- all in all, a fairly good place to do biz, considering that if you get screwed, they'll fix it. But they won't go any extra miles for you. You're just back to square 1 if something goes wrong, minus time spent. But I guess that's more than you can say for a lot of other shady folks, like on eBay, for instance.

Overall, after taking a look at the quality of most other used-car salesmen around the net -- I'd say I'm "satisfied" with ZTP. Interpret that however you want!

"i found this dealer from froogle.com, i was a little concern at the very beginning cause there were few reviews of this reseller. however, following their auction item link, i found out that they are a decent seller on ebay, so i decided to have a try. i ordered a tamron 75-300 lens whose condition is 'acceptable' on tuestay morning, at half of the retail price, and received it on friday. in fact, the lens was in perfect condition, even having a filter attached to it."

"The purchase went very well. The item was delivered promptly (within 5 days) and I was very suprised to find that the item was actually new in box. Nice to buy something 50% less than new and it be new. "

"Very displeased with my order. Waited a very long time only to eventually find out that my order had been cancelled because the item was "out of stock" After I went through the trouble to fill in my info and credit card. Don't expect any quick responses to email either."
