"The order arrived in a timely fashion, and all the caterpillars were alive (5 in one jar, 6 in the other). Unfortunately, they were very large when they arrived, so I'm guessing they were already a week or so old when they were shipped. I had ordered them to use for a weekly homeschool science coop class, hoping that the kids could see the progression from caterpillar to chrysallis to butterfly. Instead, they went into their chrysallis stage w/i three days of arrival, and the kids will miss the caterpillar stage completely. While I have no complaints with the service or the condition of the caterpillars, I am disappointed about receiving "old" caterpillars. It defeats the purpose of being a visual aid in insect life cycles if half their life cycle is spent before we even get to see them."

"The caterpillars arrived last Monday. By Thursday they had all spun their cocoons so the kids didn't see them very long as caterpillars. Many of my students haven't seen butterflies emerging from cocoons so they are very anxious to see the butterflies emerge!"
