Bait and Switch
"Made two purchases through Rakuten and it took over a month to get a purchase ineligible. I feel as though the promise of a certain amount back was worthless. Waste of time."

"I've been using them for years. In the last several years I've been shopping on Amazon and they don't offer cashback, any more, for Amazon. I've earned a total of $122 and change from them in cash back and referrals."

"another garbage woke company that stalking other people lives. Getting informed by Woke Disney,
under the same characteristic traits as Disney. I think Ebay is affiliated with Rakuten they do the same sexual stalking and other things

I'll use a different service that doesn't do organizational abuse with others, many of other abuse like emails, phone notifications, Ads etc... and informing other companies abusing their "influential". Not Robots who cant make their own choices. These IT workers, Executives are miserable to get raises or rank up on the corporate ladder for doing Internet Dark Pattern because they think its harder to get caught on the internet and be favored by whoever is informing them. when they are just puppets themselves
Their cashback isn't high enough. Many years ago cashback was incredibly high, The high cashback was used as bait and they switch later on to purposely degrade the cashback amount once they have a lot of signups. So in the beginning it was easier to get users to use their service. Many New users dont know this, so its look like their service is good with all the reviews"

Simplest way to earn cashback while shopping online.
"Sometimes you can get double the cashback or more. Make sure you're first logged into the site you will be shopping. Then click the store on the Rakuten site, which is easy to navigate. That's it. Best part is that Rakuten sends you checks regularly and notifies you under "My Account" and by email that your check is coming. You don't have to reach a minimum or take any steps to cash out. They do all the work. No hassles or glitches, always reliable. Thanks for everything, Rakuten!"

Terrible Company - Worst Customer Service
"This place is a total fraud. The whole purpose of this business is cash back on your shopping. I shop a lot. Is that a bad thing? Isn't that what they want? They sent me emails of my cash back from purchases. However when time came to pay, they did NOT. They claim that my purchase are fraud? Uhh, no idea what that means and no one will explain. Basically I shop a lot and now they don't want to pay for my shopping. Well guess what, close your company because that is essentially what your business is! They barely return my emails and when they do, they come up with a new excuse to not pay me. They make up the rules as they go. This company needs to be shut down!
This was their reply to me... And I'll answer next to their reply here because they refuse to answer emails and just ignore a very good customer. And by very good - I shop a lot which is their business, people who shop!

For an order to be eligible for Cash Back, they must be placed by the Rakuten member and not anyone else. MY REPLY - duh, why else would I complain?!

Our decisions are final. MY REPLY - terrible company. No VALID excuse. You have chosen not to hold up your end of the deal which is all your company is - cash back on purchase. I see many other people have the same issues with you.

Rakuten resellers play BAIT AND SWITCH without consequence - Buyer beware!
"Rakuten resellers play Bait and Switch without consequence. They are advertising this HX890 at $96.00 and switching models when clicking on the link. I almost bought the wrong and inferior model!
I feel Rakuten is obligated to fulfill the promise at that advertised price.
They responded they don't control their retailers - this is nonsense - Amazon controls their merchants, even eBay controls their merchants! After an exchange of 7 emails with Rakuten there was no satisfaction.
Buyer beware!

Non reliable website - Never got my order
"I ordered a telephone on 01/03 and until 01/06 I did not receive anything. However I had to receive it at the end of April. After several reminders to request a refund, Rakuten customer service responds to me "the carrier indicates to us that they are unable to find the package corresponding to the tracking number used by your seller. Your order was therefore most certainly lost during its shipment. We will request an investigation from the carrier. I have also requested that you be reimbursed. "
Despite this they rejected a day after my complaint and today leaves me with no response to my messages, no refund and awaiting a package that has never been shipped according to the order tracking info!"

You almost never get to see your money credit when you use them for Rebates!!!! Be aware
"It's a great when it works automatically, but when it doesn't you are not going to get your money. Everything is done via E-Mails and they don't follow up on anything. I used them for many years and when they were Ebates it worked so much better. I made probably over 20 purchases during the holiday season and only 3 of them were credited automatically. I been trying to follow up with the customer service number of times and you always get the same non sense about them reaching out to store.
Be aware with the Rakuten rebates!!! There are number of other sites who do the same much batter."

Not like they use to be
"Since November I have been experiencing terrible issues with my cash back, and the lack of customer service wanting to help or getting back to me, at present I have 3 issues that I keep emailing them and no response from them, on one they got back to me and their response was not related to my question, which means they didnt read my email or they dont care.
When Rakuten was Ebates they were excellent never had issues with them taking care of my missing cash back and their turn around time on replies was very quick. I'm truly disappointed and looking into going to a different company.
This people just dont care to help.
If I dont get all this cash back issues resolved, I will contact my attorney and also report them to the BBB
Their services are not being rendered as promised and also they are not giving me my cash back on a purchase for using the Rakuten Visa and that email is also being ignore."

Was a good app, not so much now!!
"I have had this app for years since it was Ebates. I’ve earned as high as about $100 on 1 check. Since it has become Rakuten that has changed. They give you small amounts, but I recently bought a vacuum from Wal Mart for almost $200 through the app on Thanksgiving Day and have yet to receive my $ on my account. It was 10% back that day, and when I contacted customer service they said it could take 10 days to 45 days for it to show up. I used the app again after and have earned smaller amounts (.60, .46, etc.) and it shows up almost immediately. I sent them another message and they haven’t even responded. Count your days Rakuten!! Not using this piece of crap app ever again, getting deleted as we speak!"
