"Absolutely disgusted with Syntax technical support.
I purchased 5 new SV266AD motherboards manufactured by Syntax on 10/13/2005. During March 2006 two of the motherboards began to start having issues and both were dead by the end of the month.
The Syntax phone technician had alot of trouble speaking intelligible English and refused to do anything about the dead motherboards. He claimed they were over 4 years old which is impossible. The motherboards are stamped AMD Sempron compatible and the Sempron was released in mid 2004.
I have already replaced the three other Syntax motherboards with a better product. These Syntax motherboards are shoddy pieces of junk."

"I brought a 7 in 1 USB Card Reader and a USB-400 Wifi adapter. They were at a good price at ecost.com and work as advertised.
I sent the rebates at the end of August 2004 and just recieved them a week and 1/2 ago on March 2005. I had to call them once (1888-Syntax8)in the beginning of March to inquire of when I was going to receive them. Prior to that, I could not check the status myself on their website (www.syntaxgroups.com). It takes a while but I did eventually get the rebates.
Would I buy another Syntax product w/ a rebate? I probably would if the price was right."
"Still waiting for two rebates sent in April and May.
The rebate processor claims they no longer have a
relationship with Syntax and will not pay.
Syntax does not respond to emails. TigerDirect,
the reseller, states that it is not their problem.
One of the worst experiences I ever had with a
rebate."
"Still have not received rebates submitted in Feb even though it was on file in their website.
A bunch of crooks.
Additional, the driver for their devices don't even work properly on Windows XP SP2. There's no update whatsoever."
"Worst combination of eCost, web-rebates.com and Syntax! My rebate has been stalled for about half a year now and there is not the remotest hope of seeing the check. Syntax is criminal."
"I have now been waiting SEVEN months on a rebate that was submitted properly. And although, they've said the check was "approved for over 6 months, I haven't seen a penny!"
"On 4/02/04 I sent in the rebate forms for a 14.99 rebate for a 7 in 1 card reader. On 6/21/04 I called the rebate center and was told that the rebate had been approved and submitted to syntax for payment.
On 7/26/04 I called the rebate center again and was rold the same thing. After pressing the rep, I was told that they were having trouble with Syntax, and had no way to get into direct contact with them."
"I sent in a rebate to Syntax on 2-18-04 and was told todat, 5-12-04, that it will be another 4 weeks before a check is sent! that will be about 17 weeks to get a rebate and they claim 10-12 weeks."
