"A friend purchased a countertop water filter for me through waterfilters.net.I had an urgent water contamination issue and was housebound with a health issue and no safe drinking water. For starters, no one there could tell me if it would be shipped via USPS or truck delivery so I didn't know if the p.o. box given would need to be changed to a physical street address. They refused to tell me saying I wasn't the person who purchased it. I explained the urgent need to get that clarified ASAP to prevent it from being returned, but they said they would only talk to them about it. I explained that my friend *didn't know my rural street number and I was unable to reach them.Then I called to get the shipping status and tracking info so I could time out how many bottles of water would need to be brought to me until the filter arrived. They refused to give that to me, again saying they would only tell the person who paid for it (still unable to reach). I expounded on my circumstance and provided my shipping info to "prove" I was the giftee and not some kind of thief and it was still "NO". I called repeatedly as my water supply dwindled down, desperate to find out when the filter might arrive and finally asked for a supervisor. I was transferred to "Lori" who was as curt and rude as can be and she hung up on me. When I tried calling back she had blocked my number and it wouldn't go through! I eventually got a hold of the friend who got the info for me and I got the filter a week later. The whole experience was just horrible and made a very scary situation a lot more stressful than it needed to be. I wouldn't recommend this company to anybody. Their call center should be called customer disservice! Who needs to be treated with such disregard when *they're being given business? Life is tough enough as it is."
"Recently had my water filter housing fail due to freezing. This essentially left me withouta water supply for my remote cabin. I phone and spoke with a pleasant customer serviceperson from WaterFilters.Net and requested a couple of replacement housing be sent sameday if possible, expedited mail. He stated, since it was before noon it would happen.The next week I received a curt email saying she needed to verify mailing and billing address.Obviously it had not yet shipped. I supplied the requested information and mentioned thatthey had not sent it out as promised.A week later it is sent."
"I ordered some carbon block filters (which are relatively heavy). Three of the 4 in the original shipment were damaged in transit. There was NO packing in the box. Waterfilters.net shipped me two (not 3) replacement filters and said they would refund my money for the third. The second shipment had a little bit of packing but they were also damaged in shipment. Waterfilters.net shipped me a third pair of replacement filters. These were well-packed and they arrived undamaged. It's been 6 weeks and the promised refund for the third damaged filter still has not show up on my credit card statement.(Update - original review written 8/7. On 8/10 they didrefund me the cost of the third filter).To their credit, they did finally figure out how to pack the carbon block filters. However, I wasted a LOT of time with them and I'm still out the cost of one filter because their customer service did not do what they said they would do."

The website is well layed out and has a nice little section called Water University in which you can watch some videos about the products and how to install and use them. "I did not purchase from this store because of false advertising of their guarantee. They have an awful 100% price guarantee. "Let us know and we will match it.*" they say with a list of limitations. Even though none of the limitations apply to your purchase, they'll respond with a "Unfortunately, we will be unable to price match this item for you." I asked about their usage of the term "guarantee." Their response was only that guarantees have limitations. Apparently, she hasn't read their limitations very well."
"I ordered a replacement LG water filter online. When reading through my confirmation email, it stated the water filter was Out of Stock. I called to find out when it would be back in stock, and to ask why the website didn't show it was out of stock. "Annie" was rude, told me the website never shows anything as Out of Stock because they get shipments so frequently, and hung up on me. I had to call back to cancel my order. I won't use waterfilters.net again."
"Never again will I buy from these people! Bought a water filter from them and when I installed it, it leaked terribly. I've installed these filters from other manufacturers before so it was a very simple hookup. Spent two weeks talking back and forth with customer service, trying to get an answer, and it turned out there was a piece INSIDE the filter that I should have removed before installation. Since there were NO INSTRUCTIONS included with the filter, I had no idea there was something I had to do before installation. I was promptly told that I HAD damaged my water filter by not removing the piece, THEY were not at fault for not sending instructions since I could have called customer service for help (I didn't know I needed help until it leaked, and then I DID call customer service!) and they would be happy to send me another filter at 25% off. But when you add in their S/H charges, I would have been paying 25% MORE than the cost of the filter. Gee, thanks! You caused the problem and you want to charge me to fix it. I don't think so!"
"After not receiving any info about my first order, I had to email them to find out an item was on back order and they didn't know when it would ship. I canceled that order and ordered other similar parts and one of them came in wrong. Two weeks and three emails later, including a photo clearly showing the wrong parts in a bag correctly tagged, I've been told I do have the correct parts and I don't get a refund. And in no uncertain words informed that I'm too stupid to tell the difference between a 3/8" part and a 1/2" part. Because, to quote them, "...fittings are difficult things." Overcoming my handicap, I picked up the 1/2" fittings at a local Ace store to complete my project. Fortunately, the Pentek filters I'll be needing over the years are available from waterfilters dot net competitors. Also note, every communication was started by me; they never sent me an email on their own."
