"Website showed items in stock, but never shipped after 3+ weeks. Was a hassle to cancel and get refund.
Needed a toolbox key ($4), but shipping was expensive ($9 SH), so I looked for other things to add to make it worth it. The key shipped, but the other items didn't. I waited weeks, since I actually could've used those items and the price wasn't bad. I called to check-up and they couldn't give an ETA and offered to do a nation-wide store search. Asked if I could cancel and get back part of my SH charge back along with the refund, and they said yes. Refund gets processed, but the quoted refund amount was $13 less than what I paid, so I figured the SH didn't get refunded. I called again to ask about the order, got put on hold for a long time and hung up on. Though I got the call about the refund being processed, my statement didn't show it after 2 days, so I call up again to confirm status and ask about the refund amount and the new CS rep asked to confirm if I received and kept the key (I did); I told her that the other rep said SH would be refunded, else I wouldn't have canceled if I knew the SH charges would remain. She reluctantly said the refund of SH would be processed and asked if I needed help with anything else, ending the call. I've been checking my statement and confirmed that I've received the original quoted refund ($13 less than what I paid), but no refund for the SH...
I'm upset that my trust got betrayed. Something with the Sears name shouldn't be this bad, I originally thought. After looking up what happened to Sears, apparently some big investor wants to destroy Sears to get the realty, as it's worth more than Sears as a retailer."
"I'm getting tired of discovering shops that are basically like online vending machines. Botach easily qualifies. They seem to pose as military/veteran friendly, but they just seem like just another faceless middleman, out to score a profit.
Most of their CS staff seems to have very little power and will give you the run around, forcing you to try contacting again. You have to get lucky getting someone who can actually help, rather than someone who simply recites store policy and assures that actions are being taken to resolve my problem.
I basically made an order on a Friday, asked for it to be cancelled shortly after I made the order, since I found a better deal. It shipped anyways on Monday afternoon. I asked for a price match, but they would only match the list price and not the price after promo code, as I expected. I refused the package and have been waiting over 2 weeks, after refusing it, for a refund."
"NCIX seems rather slow at order processing and don't work weekends at all, which accounted for taking 2 full business days to an order out. I ordered Friday evening and didn't get shipping notice until Tuesday afternoon. Despite having operations in California, next to all the big suppliers in City of Industry, and charging me tax, as a resident of California, I also got charged a foreign transaction fee. I guess I'm spoiled from NewEgg shipping out the same day and receiving NewEgg orders next day, with free shipping.
I heard NCIX simply slaps a shipping label on large items' mfg box, which is a computer case in my case, and ships them out. NewEgg might not be green friendly, putting a mfg box within their own, and filling it with packing peanuts, but I value looking at the glossy print on the box, checking out all the features of the item I just bought. Customer support confirmed the rumor, but my package came packed in a sturdy box (slightly stronger than the mfg box and vastly stronger than Amazon's boxes) with a strip of air bags padding it on 2 sides.
I got a call from NCIX's BC office regarding this review. I admit I jumped the gun with the review and have updated it accordingly. Their website does note that they ship within 1-2 business days on the checkout page. I have a bunch of parts ready to be fitted into a case, reluctant to put them in my old noisy case, and I admit I was a bit impatient. I am normally an Amazon, NewEgg, and local store shopper, but tried out NCIX, since they had an exclusive rebate on a quiet case I was looking at. I received the rebate from Antec's processing firm based in Fremont, CA (June 27, about 7 weeks after sending it out, in form of a check), so I can confirm that NCIX exclusive rebates are the real deal. I'm pretty happy with the order overall and there's nothing that I can think of at the moment that will prevent me from buying NCIX again, except the minor foreign transaction fee and order processing time. 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5, from me."
"Ordered a CPU but received wrong model ($100 cheaper one). Contacted them the next day, but have not yet talked to anyone that would help me.
Update: got an answer through e-mail and a phone call follow up. I managed to get their inventory manager, who wanted to arrange an exchange and said to mail it back to the store and that they'd ship the correct CPU out once it was back in stock. They were relatively rude, avoiding claiming any fault, acting like they were righteous. No apology or any consolation given.
Wanting to keep accountability, I drove over 100 miles to drop off the CPU once I saw the CPU was in stock, but their inventory manager wasn't there on the weekend and I was sent through a bunch of loops. I managed to get it swapped out, after a lot of time wasted waiting for a helpful associate to go back and forth with her manager. Looking to make my trip worth it, I looked to take advantage of a $50 discount on mainboards, with purchase of a CPU, which I heard of after the fact, but they wouldn't honor it, saying the CPU I bought was on sale.
These guys are totally untrustworthy. They don't even trust their own associates. It's a real pain shopping there. I regret shopping there at all. I should've just got a refund and got a price match at NewEgg. Seeing all of the other reviews here, I now know to steer totally clear of Microcenter."
"I recommend avoiding this dealer.
They have enticing prices and I heard some people got some luck with them and actually received their order after 2 weeks. I figured I could deal with no customer service for a near-wholesale price and tried to be patient, but my patience finally ran out after 3 weeks. I tried to contact them regarding my order and could not get any human response at all.
I tried to get other dealers to price match them and they refuse, since this dealer apparently has a poor reputation, have no return policy, and have no secure checkout.
Researching their reputation, I see there's a lot of complaints about them with a similar story to mine."
"Put in an order July 2. It didn't get put in the shipper's hands until July 12. I chose free shipping and accept a long wait, but the wait of the economy shipping on top of a really long processing wait is a bit disappointing.
Their shipping policy:
"All products that are in-stock (not back-ordered) are usually shipped next business day from the date ordered. Products that are on back order are usually shipped within 5 business days. We will notify you if a longer delay is expected. We do not ship orders on Saturdays, Sundays, or postal holidays."
I bought one item, which wasn't noted as in-stock or backorder (Buff UV headwear). I didn't get any notice about any delay. There just was 10 days between my order confirmation and shipping notice. It was delivered through USPS First Class Mail with a tracking #."
"Perry Ellis clothes aren't the most premium quality clothes available, but it's "designer" at an affordable price, especially with the discounts they run. I've seen 30% for new orders, up to 50% for Black Friday/Cyber Monday with free shipping.
I started my experience with something inexpensive, their Pima Cotton [Under]shirt: very irritating/itchy tags, poorly designed neck, and questionable fit. I tried other clothes and found some of their fabrics feel uncomfortable (heavy, hot), are prone to wrinkle and stains, some have a distasteful sheen, and are dry clean recommended on top of that. Their cuts, stitching, and style take a certain taste to appreciate. There's a signature sleeve pleat on some of their dress shirts that make them stand out. They have some flashy colors too, which some may like for casual dress. I tend to like their city/modern fit (loose up top and tapers to close/slim fit near knee/abs) dress clothes, but tend to go conservative with solid black.
They tend to ship FedEx (which inc Sat as a business day) with some tamper-security tape/seals on their *huge* packages. They're not packed well, compared to Armani Ex, which is neatly folded and tucked into a small box, instead it's very loosely packed which can shift and bunch on one. They tend to ship within 24 hours and most of their things are warehoused in Seneca, SC, though they charge tax for many states where they have a local store. They include a sample of fragrance with some orders.
They don't seem to have a lot of CS reps (especially after hours), so make sure you buy what you want else you'll be wasting a lot of time on hold, waiting for a rep, and e-mails sometimes don't get answered for days if you e-mail after business hours. Though when I do get through, the CS is very quick and helpful. E-mail during business hours and you may be resolved nearly instantly. Returns are no hassle and they even charge a very reasonable flat rate for a pre-paid return label $6.
I'd only really shop them again once they design something I actually like. And when they're running a decent sale. Else, I wouldn't recommend them., especially since I'm a fan of fitted clothes."
"If you're a mountain biker and are savvy with your money, looking to make your hard earned money go further, you'll likely run into this site when searching prices on stuff as theirs are often very low with price match "protection" for 30 days.
While I'm not against supporting the local bike shop, some of their prices are shocking, such as $6-15 for a tube (+$5-10 if you want it installed). I shop here for tubes, since they're $3-5 and they also have lots of items on closeout sale (found some Roach Knee/Shin guards and disc brake pads/rotors for a great price). Among all the online shops, this is one of my top 5 favorites mainly due to their risk free buying policy and relatively large inventory. I've ordered 5 times already and never felt a need to return anything.
They ship fairly fast based in CA. They charge insurance with all their orders, $1.25 on my latest $28 order. They had a free shipping offer going on that they said lasted until Nov 1, but I ordered a day after and it still worked. Saving $7 on a $30 order... that's a huge discount and one of the items I bought was already heavily discounted (upgraded to a larger front rotor).
I tried their house brand Sette when I saw their Fieldsensor bike shorts on sale (they only had small left--just my size). They oddly fit me way better than any other shorts. I admit I buy cheap shorts like Performance Elite and Bellwhether, but this was half the price (though I admit that's half after discounts). I bought another and all my other bike shorts are on the bottom of the pile now.
Their complete bikes are rather high on value with parts specs on them that are as good as parts specs found on name brand bikes (Trek, Specialized, Cannondale, etc.) selling for almost twice as much.
Update: I've recently discovered HucknRoll, JensonUSA, TreeFortBikes, and others offer better service. PricePoint is now pushed off my list of online shops to buy from, simply because there are better options. Maybe PricePoint was great in the past, but now I just sigh when I see one of their e-mail ads, since I know better. For tubes, I now price match eBikeStop Q Tubes at Jenson."
"Their price matching app is awesome. I price matched basically everything I wanted to order. I was a little under the amount needed for free shipping, so they got me to spend a little extra, but I'm actually happy that I did altogether. I kind of wish I picked up more stuff at the same time, since they have a decent selection of stuff I could use.
They're based in MI, so I got my stuff rather fast, being on the east coast, compared to typical west coast dealers. My only complaint that it took 2-3 business from the order to actually ship. The order came packed very well in a sturdy box with crumpled paper as padding.
Another thing to mention is that I don't think they charge your card until they ship either, which is nice I suppose. Between these guys and Price Point, I'd rather go with these guys mainly due to their website.
I'd likely order again once I have enough stuff I want to reach the free shipping mark. If the free shipping mark was lower, I'd be shopping them even sooner, but for now all I want is a wider more aggressive gripping 29er tire up front (Ardent 29x2.4 maybe) and a relatively light, fast, and decently grippy tire with stronger sidewalls in the back (Ikon 29x2.2 EXO maybe)."
"I ordered a Pen with an 8GB memory stick and a Spy Cam (640x480 res), and a voice recorder built in. I thought it would be fun to have. $20 + S/H and tax sounded pretty good, considering 8GB memory drives cost $13 or so on sale.
It took 7 days to arrive from the day of order, despite being located an hour away. To my disappointment, it came dead on arrival. Support took 5 days to reply to my e-mail. They instructed to return it for an exchange/refund at their discretion. I paid $5 to return it and actually forgot to include some info (just put down my name, address, and RMA #). To my surprise, they credited back $27.20 (full purchase price $19.99 + S/H + NY tax). I was initially down $5 for return shipping and felt it was a gamble to shop from them due to risk of DOAs, but I felt like sharing my experience with them and their CS went against policy to credit me $5 through PayPal for return shipping as an exception to ensure I was satisfied.
I've since ordered again and will be checking them out for future deals.
On other note, I find their YouTube videos are rather funny and give you a chance to win items for free on top of that just for commenting."
"Great prices, but they have a lack of customer service manpower and a lack of a robust inventory system. It takes them a long time to answer calls, a day or two for them to answer e-mails (questions, price matches, etc.), and there's no way to tell if something's truly in stock or not.
It's been 8 days since I placed my order and I haven't received an UPS tracking # yet. I e-mailed them 3 days ago and Kerry e-mailed me back (with a CC to Brian) saying there was one item in my order that was backordered and due the next day and would e-mail again if there was a problem.
With 1 item backordered out of 3 in a $100+ order (not counting S/H), they could've shipped the rest of the order on time so I could've received it before the weekend or ask me what I wanted to do in regards to the backordered item. The backordered item isn't even something in high demand from what I can tell, an O'Neal Rocker Knee/Shin Guard."
"Ordered an used set of Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speakers for $72+NY state tax ($78). I could've got new ones off eBay for $100 shipped. I went with these since it was $20 less, had a good sounding satisfaction guarantee, and it was "tested in good working condition". It came in under week through UPS--the box was in pretty bad shape, but the speakers were in surprisingly good condition.
I was e-mailed an apology from Cowboom regarding the packaging comment in this review. I personally don't care about the box, it's economical and green to ship in the original product box and as long as the product inside comes undamaged, I'm happy. It's nice that they look at feedback here though.
I've used the speakers for a few weeks now and they sound a bit off, especially on my brother's PC, and I was a bit worried about it being a return for bad sound. I think it's because I have been used to my Sennheiser HD-590s--the headphones are $300 MRSP and these are $150 MRSP, so I guess I'm expecting too much. They're decent enough for desktop computer speakers and don't give me headphone hair.
Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and Cowboom.com and I would shop here again and would recommend it to my friends."
"Many varied ways to pay, but prices aren't that great and product selection is rather poor. Many items I bought from them break or seem too cheap to count on."
"Some rare deals to be had on electronics and computer stuff (particularly quality monitors). Not really a decent choice for a gaming capable PC though. I had a LCD monitor die on me (under a year old) and they refused to help me since I had an APO address (military overseas address)."
