It's well built and runs without noise except for occasional internal switching. My problem was a brown out condition with voltage dropping below 80 volts when 10A load or more was being used. Now I have 95v-115v and appliances are working properly. The Reg-Volt ATVR-3000 Pro also handles surges and simply keeps the electricity clean and stable. One of the switches must have been wired opposite of intended so that when you select 220v the mode is 110v. Set it according to the digital dial reading your intended voltage and forget it.

"Purchased the system for use with a steam generator. Outlets in my house are 15amp, except for washroom and kitchen outlets, all of which are 20amp with test breakers. 220 system DOES NOT work under such conditions.

My steam generator needs a 220v - 20amp minimum power supply. Breakers in my house and on the outlets switched off every time I tried to turn the generator on. There wasn't enough power.

THE 220 SYSTEM NEEDS TWO 20 AMP OUTLETS TO FUNCTION. Also note, it is only safe to use 220 systems for 4 hours maximum before cooling down."
